And it happened just like that. There I was, remembering what had happened as I sat on the velvet like couch of the Justice Building.I woke up this morning, then I did my chores as usual. I went to town before the Reaping and got some more bread. I went back home, and helped mom make dinner for when we got back. I got dressed and went to the reaping. Then....then? Then it happened. Our escort took my name out of the glass jar.Mine, out of a thousand other girls. I only had my name in a few times compared to the other girls. My family stepped into the room as I put my face in my hands. Why? Why did I have to sign up for tessarae? I just looked up and hugged my brother, my father and mother pulling both of us into a big hug. We sat there in silence for a moment before breaking apart. Oh no. I heard sniffles come from everyone. Even me. I kissed my brother on the forehead and put him in my mom's lap. "..Mom. Take care of the family, will you?Little monster over here is gonna have to start doing my work." I said, forcing a smile. We all laughed a tiny bit, the anxiety forcing us to stop after a few seconds. My mother then hands me my green scarf. I look at it, shocked a bit. I take off my small, brown and frilly scarf and replace it with the one in my lap.
I could feel my family cringe the slightest at the sight of my neck. Not the best, but I quickly have my scarf on.I smile once more. The smile is wiped from my face as I start letting tears stream down my face. I was going to die. I never even experienced having a crush on a boy and I was going to die. I thought, as my mother wiped tears from my face. They had to go. We all hugged once more before breaking apart. My brother gave me an eskimo kiss before my mother grabbed his hand and they left the room. There I was, sitting alone once more.I clutched an end of the scarf and tried to force back tears. I didn't give enough effort, because I felt myself hunch over and my shoulders go up every time I took a breath. I need to stop. Don't show the other one's you're weak.I bite my lip as the last few tears drip onto the floor, leaving a dark spot in the smooth carpet along with the other few. With the maroon carpet, it looks like blood on the carper.Just like the blood that will be spilling from me in the arena.

Aurora Lipting
Aurora laughed in amusement. He didn't seem very fine, although it was a mystery how I found that humorous. Maybe it was the fact that I was so nervous that I'd probably find anything awkwardy funny right then.
With a giggle, I challenged him, "Oh really? Because you don't look that good. It might be a good idea to puke right about now." I motioned my head toward the door that lead to the main train car. That train car had a dining table and a few pieces of pointless furniture. Beyond that car was a smaller car that contained the restroom stalls.
Shaking my head, I sat up on my bed, "Anyway, I'm gonna mess with our escort. She's snoring, and I assume she won't be waking up anytime soon." As I got off of the bed, I stopped for a moment to face him, "You wanna come with?" I awaited a response with a devious smile on my face. I was going over what pranks to do to our escort. I may be on a train ride that will ultimately lead to my funeral, but I can still have fun, can't I?
You can tell the prospect of the Hunger Games was wearing you down when even people like Aurora were being nice, for a change. My mood? Hm. Hard to say. I was upset, angry, and regretful all at once. But we could get our last ups before inevitably dying at the games. I said to the girl, "Yeah. Sure. Fine." I remembered that Nugget and I had done a few pranks on our own before. Granted, we couldn't do some of them without getting shot by a peacekeeper, but that just added to the excitement. And now? What did punishment matter? Twenty-four people - teenagers - were being punished for something people did a long time ago, before they were even born. There could only be one. One to survive. I'd thought it would be me, but now I felt weak and helpless. I wanted to jump off of the train, attempt to smash through the doors that held us back.
I shoved my emotions down my throat before I could voice them. Deep breaths, deep breaths, I told myself. It didn't really help, but at least I tried. I was glad at least one of us could be lighthearted at the moment - even the one person who shouldn't have been. Then again... she was a career. She must have been overcoming her nervousness. I wish I could have said the same thing. I needed to be strong. For my mom, my dad, Nugget, and my other friends. Without another word, I walked towards the escort's door.

((OOC-My typing might be horrible because I broke my pinky and I can barely type without it. I am using spell check, but I'm lazy so later on in my post's I might stop))
Aurora was surprised at Gaud's response. She could notice slightly that he was thinking of Nugget. That filled her heart with emotion, but she hid it best she could. She grasped a small locket hanging on a chain dangling off the top of her pant's. What was in it was a mystery... She found it in a small box that said: To Aurora, do not open the locket until the day before the Hunger Games. Oh well, she gabbed a small ball-point pen off the small desk and made sure it wasn't a blue one.
"Hrm, should we do a fake mustache, strawberry eye's, or both?" Aurora said happily. She hadn't done strawberry eyes in a long time.
I thought about it. They were good tricks, and probably would make the escort worry about why everyone was laughing about her appearance, but everybody would know it was us. There had to be a better trick that would be much more sneakier than this. I remembered that in the summer, when we went to the riverside we'd usually do our work in the water rather than out of it. When we were out, the sun would cook our skin and make it wrinkly and dry.
That gave me an idea, like a light-bulb in my head. "Do you have any kind of light source, like a flashlight or a lantern?" I asked, wondering if we had the right tools to do the job. This would be so fun. Help lighten up the mood. It reminded me of home, which I wanted to get back to already. I shook the thoughts from my head. You're here now, I scolded myself, so you might as well stop wishing for things you can't have. Can't have. The Capitol was restricting me from my choices. Why? What was the point of all of this? I needed to narrow my line of sight when it came to looking forward to the future. Just now, not tomorrow.

Aurora smiled even more at his enthusiastic response.
"Hell yeah, I can never leave without a good flashlight. I have a small one in my pocket- put it's really really bright." Aurora thought of what he had in mind. Wrinkle her skin was his obvious approach.
"If we're goin' to do THAT prank- we need and eye cover. Something fancy that a "magnificant" or "Amaizing" capitol would use." Aurora said with much enthusiasm.
Corinn awoke as normal he got breakfast as usual he went outside and he felt it hit him…
It was today. The reaping was today and he hadn’t even though about it. He and his family were almost doing too good. He hadn’t signed up for tesserae or been on the capitols bad side. He ran to the market and the people were all crowded around. He watched in horror as the mayors son daughter stepped up and plucked a name from the girls’ side. I was way too scared to hear the name. Corinns body shook as she frowned. A single tear fell from the girls eyes. She was called. She handed the box the her accomplice and she retreated to the house screaming was heard the front door opened and she came out. Her throat was bleeding and in her hand was the knife responsible. She fell from the porch but didn’t make it to the ground. The crowd fell silent and to distract the crowd the announcer said loudly.
“Max Pewter, you are our male candidate. A little boy stepped up. He was twelve, and hadn’t put in a tesserae I helped his family with their food ever year. I taught him how to use a sling, to kill raccoons and squirrels. He whipped a tear and stepped forward but I spoke out loud.
“No! I volunteer for this boy, he doesn’t deserve this.”
The crowd gasps as I walk up the stairs. I hear hysterical crying and I look to see the boy’s mom weeping uncontrollably. She looks up as if to say no, she hesitates and sniffles. He holds her tongue the boy looks at me and says
“Thanks, but…. But…. Thanks…” he trails off into the crowd.

I Realize that my rough draft. This wasn't my actual one. Disregard that please....
Tapping my chin, I frowned. Eye cover... Eye cover... My eyes shifted over to the wall, and I got an idea. Quickly I lifted the lapis-lazuli decorated flower pot on the table and threw it at the wall, jumping over to the side to avoid the shards. I took one piece and used it to cut off some cloth from my long-sleeve shirt. I smiled and held it up for Aurora to see. "Would this work?"
Before she could answer, the door opened behind me and I spun around. Filling the door frame was Oren, who did not really look pleased. "What are you two plotting?" he asked.

Aurora giggled than the door flung open and Gaud's mentor came out.
"What are you two plotting?" He said.
"Um, nothing, we just accidentally broke a flower pot, nothing else." Aurora said while twinkling her eyes so that he wouldn't tell that she was lying.
"Ok, well don't do it again! We can have injured tributes, now can we?" He replied.
"No sir, we'll clean it up, don't worry." I said. He walked out of the room and I picked up a shirt from the cabinet with clothes in it and put the glass in it. I opened the window, checked if anyone in the train cars behind us had their windows opened, and threw the sack out the window. Gaud's Idea was amazing. Aurora pulled a small peice of string out of her pocket and poked two small holes on the sides to attach the string.
"Let's do this." Aurora said with a smirk.
[So, I'll assume that now the guy whose name starts with S from district 11 doesn't exist anymore, and it was David the whole time, and the whole barging into the room and demanding advice thing never happened. Okay.]
David Makovitch
David looked at the floor of the train car. How did this happen? he kept thinking to himself. No, this isn't happening. Yes, that's the answer. I'll close my eyes and when I open them, I'll be back at home. He closed his eyes for a few seconds and opened them again. There he was, still in the train car, on his way to certain death. He couldn't help but start to cry, silently.
David started to analyze the situation. On the train, other than himself, were the girl tribute - Enna was the name called, if he remembered correctly - and the two trainers. Well, at least they were lucky enough to have two trainers, and not just one. He went to look out the train window, to see if the speed was really as it was said - 250 mph. He saw trees and bushes rushing by, hardly being able to make out the shapes of them. He used this to distract him for a few minutes, almost forgetting about the Hunger Games and the Capitol. For a few minutes, everything seemed peaceful.
((No! Not that secret! The fact that Enna is actually Anne spelled backwards.))
