I read a book a few weeks ago about a place called Panem where they did a Hunger Games each year. It's one of my favorite books, so I thought I'd make a forum game for it, :biggrin.gif:. If you haven't read the book, I'll attempt to fill you in...
The Hunger Games is a yearly event where two kids from each district are picked from the Reaping Ball. They must be of a certain age (12-18 I believe?) to participate in the game, and every year, their ballots in the Reaping Ball increase in number. Say you were twelve. Your name would be in once. The next year, it would become two. You can also sign up for tesserae for your family, which gives them a meager supply of grain and oil for the year. Say you had two family members, and you signed up for tesserae. Your name would be in 3 times, if you were twelve.
In the districts, the Reaping is held where an announcer comes from the Capitol, and picks two ballots, one boy, one girl. No more, no less. Volunteers may take the place of anyone if they wish. After the Reaping the tributes, or the chosen ones, will be taken onto a train. They will go to the Capitol, where they will take an entrance, along with all the other tributes. In this, prep teams and stylists design your clothes.
After this, you take an interview with a man named Caesar Flickerman, who interviews you a little before the games. I also forgot to mention that during this, you will take training, and a mentor who won an earlier game will, well, mentor you. They will teach you whatever they feel is needed.
After the interview, shortly you are taken to the arena. You are lifted up onto metal plates, which will detonate if you step off before a minute is up. Near you lies the Cornucopia, which is hollow and open at the ends. Supplies lay on it, decreasing in rarity the farther away it is from the golden horn.
Careers are the tributes who are trained to win the games. They are from District 1, 2, and 3, I believe. 5 maybe. They will sometimes take other tributes, but not always. In the arena, you can form alliances, but in the end, you will have to kill your allies.
Your mentor controls the flow of gifts in the arena. Sponsors can and might pay money to supply you. It comes down in a silver parachute, in a small package. Only your mentors can allow gifts to come.
And that's basically it, I think. You may want to read this if you haven't read this book.
Anyways, post a form of your character. One girl and one boy from each district only. There are twelve districts.

"Welcome to the 20th Hunger Games, and may the odds be forever in your favor!" Claudius Templesmith's voice booms across the arena, and the tributes are lifted onto the metal plates. The Cornucopia shines brightly nearby, with supplies littered around. The arena has a beach to the left, and to the right, woodlands. All tributes must wait sixty seconds, or the landmines will detonate.
I'm lifted up into the arena. I already know this is a place of great advantage. I'm good at hiding in trees, and good in woodland overall. I scan the other plates. We're all of an equal distance from each other, placed along the beach. Supplies are dotted around the Cornucopia. And then, I see the gleaming steel hatchet stuck in the sand. That weapon is meant for me. I think. I can run fast, but what if the others are speedy? I'll try to get that hatchet, though. The landmines just got deactivated....it's time to go.
I scramble off the platform, weaving between piles of supplies as I rush toward the weapon that may be my salvation. I pick it up, and grab a black backpack that could contain anything, and then I make a beeline for the woods, traveling next to the Cornucopia.
Oh lawd, I love the Hunger Games books. Mockingjay was a bit dull, BUT WHATEVA I CAME TO ROLEPLAY.

I run up to the Cornucopia, keeping away from the good supplies at one end. I find a small knapsack with a pack of processed meat inside, along with two dozen or so throwing knives. Seeing Cat getting attacked by someone who looks an eerie shade of pale green, I dash over and throw him off her, and into some underbrush at the forest edge. I pull Cat with me up a thick Oak tree.

I was about to go when the light turned green, but my grandpa told me to stop. I slammed the brakes on as a semi blew straight through the red light. It would've hit me if I would've gone. I was alone in my car. My grandpa passed away last August.
i climb back up into the tree and prop my leg up on a near by branch and browse the contents of my book bag. (1 botle of water, 2 small pieces of plastic, a blanket, a pair of socks, a poncho, a pillow case, and a pair of scissors, length of rope and a sleeping bag) i stuff the book bag with all the stuff in it into the pillow case and put he poncho on and slip into the sleeping bag. it is getting dark now and i hear foot steps in the distance, i tie the rope around my waist an grab my bow...

I grab a sword and run over and angrily stab KevinOC in the stomach and realising I wasnt thinking I run away into the forest grabbing supplies as I go.
