So right now im working on a website where people will be able to order graphics and what not from me(may have seen my older posts) and I've spent probably 3 hours on this here. And I was wondering what you guys think of it so far and how I could improve it etc. Nothing is final since its only for the looks right now. Opinions and constructive criticism would be nice
This is my website so far http://imgur.com/e1w6952
(When you role over the buttons they turn a darker grey)
It looks awfully plain and mundane. The fact you have two navigation bars with EXACTLY the same thing is bad too. The colours are really drab too. Why is the paragraph text in bold? There does not seem to be any main heading of sorts to grab the attention.
Had I not read further, I would have thought this was one of those Domain for Sale pages.

yeah ive been getting a lot of people saying about the colour so I shall fix that!
I didn't mean that necessarily, what I meant by what I said is to make your website an example itself. If you can't do that yourself however, then you might want to invest in something like Wordpress or Joomla.
Grammar* because I'm trying to rush...
And lack of knowledge? Ok
Don't rush. Take your time.
Yes, lack of knowledge. You're a 'graphic designer' (not even sure if you are) so prove it. Like people said before, prove it in the website. Make it look good.
Squares you know, they were good in the 90's, but this is 2014, you should be able to make some nice shapes on photoshop, set it as your website background, then have text overlap it.

I haven't abandoned this forum just yet.

Because square s neat, easy to make and easy to fit in and navigate around
If you're selling graphics you need to prove you know how to do the job, and your website can be a good or bad first impression of your skill.
Yep Ok. I shall put examples up
Try some graphics in Paint.NET or preferred editor and put those as the buttons.
Maybe a background?
This is a legacy account, meaning it is no longer active
If so you might as well give it up.
Paint.net? Im making a website for graphics... Ill be using photoshop
Why would I do that? I can code HTML fairly well, I've just posted this to see what people would like to see on the website...
Well thats nice
He said "paint.net or preferred editor". Not paint.net exclusively.
Anyway, I'd remove the squares or at least make them less... gray. I like rounded edges, like Chrome's UI.
Im making it off scratch, not using another host
Maybe you could integrate with something such as Joomla? There's fields where you can put custom HTML, as well as having an appealing theme/layout.
Your lack of knowledge in it.
Your grammar isn't too great either.

You may know HTML, but do you know CSS?
But points for trying.
Sire I inquire as I do with most, but do you mean to gloat? For is it truly such a tire to reply to the host with but a simple QUOTE?
