Everywhere i go, everywhere i look, i see girls who have either a distressed, distraught or solemn look in their eyes, and their mouths are curved downward. There are barely any women out there who smile much. Why are alot of the women in my area in the population so depressed looking all the time???
thats not true. i'd rather see them happy, with smiles on their faces. i always prefer seeing happiness over sadness.
but there's just so many unhappy looking women in general.
There's plenty of happy women. It's all based on the situation. It would be weird if every single person you see just has a big grimace on their face all the time.

That's all teenage girls. They think if they act sad and depressed people will pay attention to them. Trust me when I say it's fake.
EDIT: In fact, even grown women do it. They just crave attention. I know guys who do it too.
Perhaps you have an odd perception of unhappiness. Perhaps what you perceive as unhappiness is just a lack of expression.
Plus, it's winter, and you live in Canada. A lack of sunlight (a constant grey atmosphere) can deplete a person's happiness pretty easily. You might notice a difference during summer.

The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
This is more a general trend of people as a whole, male or female. A world of painted expressions, and chipping bloodied plaster masks. I think its because of stress. Constantly being forced into rigid channels, bombardment of people by media forcing ideas of what is okay to be, what is okay to think, what is okay to do, who you're alright to be. I think it wears on people on a deep level. Striving to feel unique in a world that demands compliance and that everyone is the same. When you add in that almost everyone else comes to believe similar variations of the same things, people begin to feel stifled.
Add in the feeling that you're a lowly worker bee living off the table scraps kicked to you from those above makes the future seem dreary to people, regardless of any bright fantasy of "choice" people are given the illusion of.
Very few people choose to break that mold and live for their own beliefs, make their own choices to shape their own reality.
The depression can also be tied to rampant undiagnosed food allergies, pollution, preservatives, water contamination. Many sources for the same prevalent problem.

But Canada is know for its happy population, and the weather is proven to contribute the happy people of Canada's happiness. I wouldn't mind living in Canada.
There's nothing to be happy about! For starters, the weather is going to get worse over time, with higher average temps, and more frequent storms. Corruption is growing ever more rampant in the government, as corporations are getting their way more and more. The government doesn't listen to the people anymore. Jobs are growing ever crappier and scarcer. The prices of products everywhere are rising, while the quality is stagnating, or getting worse. These stupid and pointless wars are not ending anytime soon. Marijuana is STILL illegal. The education system has been sabotaged by the big corporate interests. Our Internet access is still crappy. etc. etc. etc.

Obviously underneath that jolliness and jean jacket lies a clinically depressed man.
