The majority of modern teenagers own an account on a major social network such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Skype, and many others.
I don't mean places like the MCF or Reddit, because users don't usually include their real names there or such an excessive amount of details on their daily activities.
How do you feel about social networks? Do you have an account on any of them?
I know I was one of the first of all my peers to get a Facebook account, just as Myspace was dying down. Now I'm considering deleting it, as my 'friends' (read: people that add me on Facebook but don't really talk to/care about me) have been wondering where I've gone and why I haven't been on Facebook lately.
Facebook has also ruined a whole relationship for me. I don't own an account on any others but Skype, and I use that daily... Don't most of us?
I use Skype to talk with my friend while playing games.
I use Facebook to chat with my friends while playing games.
I use Twitter to stalk people.
I don't have an Instagram account.
I use Facebook. Though I'm not really into the social networking, Facebook can be fun to use if you have friends to talk to. But I find Instagram to be absolutely annoying. It's like an amateur photo-editing-blog-thing for people to call themselves "photographers".
I use Skype for business. I deleted my Facebook because I swear to god, every single normal person that I know in real life is a complete and utter ****tard there.
I do visit Facebook often, but mainly to communicate with the members of the 2 groups I'm in. One's a Finnish Minecraft group (I'm one of the admins) and the other one's a Finnish brony group. Both have 60-80 members in them.
I also send private messages to my closer friends via FB quite often.
I use Skype to communicate with my friends, mostly during gaming. Same thing with Steam. But the latter isn't really a social networking site as the OP described them.
Why are sites like Reddit and MCF excluded from the generalization of 'social networking'. The only difference is that you tend to use a pudendum on them, as opposed to your real identity.
Govna:
...You just explained exactly why to yourself.
My classification of social networking is places where you use your actual identity for people to find you and connect with you.
On Reddit or the MCF, I certainly don't know of many occasions where you search for your friends you've met elsewhere, outside of the internet, to connect with them.
Not to mention those places are for discussion, not particularly for social interaction between users as much as the discussion aspect itself.
Alright, removing the first option from the poll and making the first option, "None"
I use skype daily, so thats something I use, but nothing else.
Anyways, I'm 11 and basically all the kids in my grade lie about there age and join facebook.

What are you talking about? The whole basis of any board of any kind is discussion of any given topic between peers, regardless of if they identify themselves or not, and regardless if they use a pudendum or not. I don't see why the legitimacy of their chosen identity should hold any weight in describing the site as social or not.
Skype is an internet phone and is not the same thing as facebook or twitter.
I have a twitter but I hardly use it for anything other than stupid ****. Not touching the other social networking sites because the government uses them to keep tabs on their sheep.
Instead of repeating myself, I bolded the answer to the below poster's question.

Only Skype, I did make a Facebook, but abandoned it after a week, I was irritated with my peers constant messaging about them taking craps and whatnot. Also, it was filled with memes-
Im not too sure if this point has already been made but, I think Stuff like facebook and skype is good for talking to friends and family memebers you havent talk too in awhile.

I have a Twitter too, but only for school purposes. Twitter is popular at my school for some reason. *shrug*
I don't particularly like Facebook though.
I use Facebook to chat with my friends while playing games.
I use Twitter to stalk people.

Aren't you clever.

I'm finally back. See profile for details.
And twitter is different?
