If you experience any problems with the members of C'FGC, please alert us with due haste. To any newcomers: I'm not really maintaining this clan anymore, but it's still open for anyone's use. Everything's just off the books, now!
We have a server at 96.3.117.179! Come on down! Frankly, I don't know if this is true anymore...
I've been wondering what exactly defines a clan, and I considered that one (or one group) does not specifically need a predefined purpose to maintain itself, so long as it upholds a theory or ideal common to all of the members of the group. In doing so, I realized that many clans would be alike - in the grand scheme of things - in that they support a generalized idea and serve a secondary or unrelated function to complement it. Victory keeps a pleasant and proper decorum, and its members are active and upstanding members of the community. The Circle of Magi emphasizes loyalty and brotherhood, and they support the clan by showing it. The Killer Squids just took a new idea and ran with it, and their pride lies in their dedication to that new idea.
Now consider removing one of those variables. Keep the clan's common theory or ideal, but eliminate the need to actively announce its devotion to it. If my guesses are placed right, you should have a group of similar-minded people who will passively act in conjunction with their ideal, but will not be otherwise influenced (hindered, specifically) by an unnecessary obligation to act on its behalf. I wanted to see the true result, so I am founding
C'FGC The backdrop is just to help it show up.
Well, you've made it clear that being part of this group does not entail acting much on its behalf. What do you stand for?
The greater good... however you interpret that.
What obligations do I have if I join?
Nothing except refraining from acting against our morals.
What are your morals?
If you are accepted (and I'm not too picky), you will likely already have a good understanding of basic human morality and good. I want members that can realistically uphold a good nature. To put it simply, I just want good people and/or people who are willing be good.
Do you have a ranking system?
No. Once admitted, everyone will be of the same class, rank, value... Any actions made by the group must be sanctioned by its members, who will all be equals to each other.
How do you feel about multi-clanning?
That's fine, as long as the endeavors of your other clan do not conflict with our own.
Despite your original motive, do you plan to act for your clan?
I don't know. I haven't entirely defined my, or the group's, expectations in those regards. We'll have to wait and see.
What does C'FGC mean? It's a little complicated. Rest assured, it's good, though. I was too eager to tell and people wanted to know anyway; C' - F - G - C was the musical combination used in the game LOOM to spin the "Transcendence" draft. Feeling as though transcendence, moving above and beyond, would apply to the clan, I saw no fault in using it.
Is there an emblem? I'm working on it. Yes. See above.
I want to show my enthusiasm sooo much! Do you have a signature bar image?! Indeed we do.

At this point, I'm open-minded, and I have no reason to believe you would be inadequate. No concerns there; consider yourself in. Most clans would (sensibly) check a person's background a little bit to see if they are reliable, then admit them in. I plan to work the system backwards, letting any aspiring members jump in and only removing the trouble-makers.
I hope you will not be disappointed with the currently sub-par conditions in which this clan is established; I currently have no server or banner, and other details along those lines. It would have been wise for me to plan these things ahead, but I really wanted to see how far things can go by simply winging it!
It's perfectly understandable! Being that this doesn't really function as a clan, per se, this group's relatively disorganized status makes sense. I really like the idea of this thread. If this works out well perhaps this could be put to use as a sort of universal seal of trust for advanced minecraft members, allowing them to serve as guides to new people and serving as emissaries between clans.
There is actually solid reasoning behind the name, but I think it's funner if I don't tell anyone as of now. That shouldn't be a benchmark of how well the clan could do, anyway.
Interestingly enough, that's half the glory; who am I to tell you what to do? I foresee the members simply acting as model players, whatever their goals may be. Building a small township and helping citizens sounds great.
Without sounding like a smug shmuck, I think I fully understand the purpose of this group.
It's not really meant as a formal clan, as has been stated, but as more of a... well, organization. If, for example, somebody came into a minecraft town wearing this badge, people would immediately know they were a trustworthy person. Sort of like a "I'm a good person" seal. This would be useful for new people, as they could have someone to talk to and guide them, as well as to more advanced players (or communities) who are down on their luck.
O.o charity organization much?
Also, i feel your recruitment method somewhat contradicts your ideals: not just anybody should be able to wear this seal. Only people who have been proven willing and able to serve members of the minecraft community indiscriminately. If just anyone were let in, they could give the seal a bad name, as well as lead players who are already in need into even worse situations.
You are entirely right for the first half of those statements, you probably do understand the purpose of this group. As I am haphazardly assembling it, it's possible (not necessarily likely) that you know it better than I do!
However, for recruitment, I only partially agree with you. You are right that not everyone should be able to wear the seal, but anyone with the intentions to uphold it should. I wanted to do something different and welcoming, so, as stated in the original post, I turned recruitment around. Anyone can join, but only who proves him/herself can stay. Bear in mind, this won't always be an active clan, so proving one's self may be as simple as not doing anything wrong. All of this tries to embody my motif of equality and support.
If you have any suggestions or objections, feel free to speak up; that's what I'm encouraging. By letting all of the members contribute to the clan's standing, there is less incentive for any single member to act, as it will all unfold as a group.
This is definitely a group I would want to be a part of as I love helping out players especially new egar minecraftiens who need a little help to make their ideas and aspirations shine. It would also be great to not look suspicious anymore when I pop into a vanilla server and ask if there's any grief that needs cleaning as its a hobby of mine :smile.gif:

I also hope that isn't discouraging.
Too bad the name isn't terribly marketable :?
What exactly will your clan do? I imagine just building a small township and help the citizens of the town?

I will join if I get to talk like a pirate.
