They announced yesterday that a new Mojang employee named Aron Neiminen is working on an IPhone-version of Minecraft. Soon after, they announced it for the Android too! It will come out in late 2011! Check it out:
1: Yes we know
2: This had already been posted MULTIPLE times
3: Please stop making pointless/repeated threads.
What are you talking about? This is my first time posting about the IPhone version of Minecraft! I never made repeated posts. And the IPhone version of Minecraft was officialy announced yesterday. All other posts made before yesterday were rumors.
Also, here's a banner for support of the IPhone version:
Yes it is real and yes, even as a user who has 'sunk 50+ hours into the PC version' I still think this is a good idea and will be getting the iphone version.
Why? Because there are times when I want to log into our MP server and am not at my computer.
It's really that simple. Also, I call ******** on the one dude who says it will 'take from development'. They HIRED A NEW GUY to do this which means the other guys can continue on the main version. Honestly, don't you guys have any business sense? This is a no-brainer for Mojang as it is an app that is guaranteed to sell. I would expect another 100,000 iphone/ipad sales in the first year, which is going to more than pay for this guy's salary. This is nothing more than Mojang correctly assessing the market.
The OP of this thread is annoying me to no end. Stop advertising your thread.
We get it. You're excited. Stop trying to make yourself feel important as the "Original Minecraft Mobile Thread Maker". Congrats. Here's your gold medal.
Not everyone wants to see the thread about the app for these shoddy phones posted all over the "Discussions" page. Some of us just want to talk about Minecraft instead of it getting ported out.
Smart phones make dumb people.

Once again, I don't think it's really that great. Minecraft on smart phones is just another reason for people to shove their phones in my face. I think playing it is going to be just as fun as everything else on that phone. Not very. Touch-Screen interface may be cute, but I think the charm will wear out soon enough.

Thanks for the medal. Sorry that your thread got removed. But mine was made an hour before yours. So if you want to continue your conversation, post it here. That is all.
The first 3 were ON topic. The last one wasn't. And know you're getting really off-topic. This thread is made to discuss about the IPhone/Android version of Minecraft. Please stop.

This is just my way of trying to keep you from advertising some more. Now anytime you link to this thread, they get to see this too.

I think the touch-based controls are going to be irritating. Drag and drop, turning, block placement, and buttons to open your inventory are already going to be irritating enough to control. Additionally, I doubt the iphone's ability to really run Minecraft very well. Even if it's the real minecraft, the settings will have to be pretty bad.
I also don't think it's a good idea for Notch to work on exporting a game that already isn't finished. Sorry Notch, you've had a two week vacation, and you're nearing yet another one. Sometime in there, you should probably add just a little bit more content.
Iron: Just wait til' you find a funny picture. Soon as you do, chances are you'll want to share it with people. Even if you don't, I know plenty enough people who do. Just think when people are building things in Minecraft. I won't have enough hands to shove the phones away.
As far as checking up on the server, I can understand that. Although typically, when away from my computer, I try my best to stay away from anything cubic, dare it make me want to rush home and build yet another strange village.
Of course I'm also waiting for Minecraft for Android(as you can see on my avatar)... It can most likely be made for Android much sooner than iPhone, because Android 2.2+ supports Adobe Flash(iPhone doesn't(duh)) and Android is Java(Which Minecraft is made out of) and Linux(Developer's favorite Operating System) based :wink.gif:...

1. Not all of us knew. This is the first I heard about it with all the 1.3 buzz flying around.
2. Umm.. I dont see any other post on page one of discussion that mentions this.
3. This should be a stick in the announcement section. Really, minecraft being deployed on a new platform is pretty big news. I am surprised it said late 2011, but I guess they want to do an "Official" MC launch before releasing it to another platform.
Too bad my Itouch got stolen a while ago...
And i would enjoy a Minecraft app but if Mojang will start milking Minecraft like Valve does with Half life or Nintendo does with Super Mario, i would start being upset.

Interesting. A thread made an hour before never. Are you really this desperate for something to show off?
I didn't make a thread of any sort. I saw your advertising in posts for unrelated threads.
