I started a new game recently, and dug straight down from my initial base into a cavern. I decided I may as well explore it.
I ended up having to hack my inventory because I ran out of torches, ladders, and picks. Repeatedly.
The cave system beneath my start point is vast enough to include three dungeons that I know of, at least 20 waterfalls, a few lavafalls, lots of ores, and all of this without doing any digging beyond that needed to progress through the existing caves.
Eventually I decided to focus on getting to the surface instead of exploring further, which took me about half an hour. Once I did, I figured I'd share this ridiculously complex natural cave system with the world.
I've named it The Under.
Download the level here. Put it in any world folder you desire. You'll need something that can unpack 7-zip files. Also this is an alpha level so you'll need to buy the game.
Oh hey there are three secret areas that I made with the paltry number of signs I brought with me, and there might be a fourth sign somewhere directly below the initial shaft.

I approve.
