Minecraft never loads completely

Postby mamorokusanagi » Mon Mar 08, 2010 7:15 pm

I am having trouble with all versions of my minecraft. I have downloaded the latest java (and installed it) and i have my latest video card drivers. when i load any type of minecraft, be it survival, indev, or multiplayer, the window shows that it is loading then there is a black screen.

my current specs on this computer
Win7 x64
Browser: Internet Explorer, and Firefox

My Java console says the following:

lol my graphics card can run battlefield 2 and half life 2... just not this for some reason... I think it might be an openGL problem with these lines:
"OpenGL 3.0: false
OpenGL 3.1: false
OpenGL 3.2: false
ARB_compatibility: false"

LG_Legacy, I've seen your response to several of these posts now. You're first conclusion is always out of date drivers, crappy computer, crappy video card. I am having the same issue with three different browsers:Chrome, Mozilla, and IE. When attempting to play any mode, Single Test, Single, Multi, the screen says switching applets then flashes to a black screen. It is a Java issue with the website. Other sites requiring Java run just fine. So I am asking you for any real insights, besides uninstall and reinstall Java, going to Java Control and making sure everything is checked... From the looks of the forums there is a rather large amount of people having this issue, and it should be addressed. Hopefully someone out there can find a nice solution to this dilemma, I've been trying for several hours now with no prevail...

The thing is, since windows 7 has just come out, the video drivers out there that work with windows 7 may not be compatible with minecraft. If it's an issue with switching applets, it may he that you have run out of ram, somethings interupting minecraft switching, or the graphics card may not be able to switch to the
states required to play minecraft. Even if you are able to play other applets, how many applets first download files to your computer, then switch to a main applet that's designed to render around 98,304 faces, then take shortcuts so that your computer doesn't actually overload itself with that task. LG is saying that because he either A, knows it's the most likely thing that's wrong, or B, can't think of anything that might be wrong. Recently there has been a sudden influx of users, which is the cause of all these support threads. We do the best we can and suggest what is most likely to work, what's worked before, and what's safe.LpThe thing is, since windows 7 has just come out, the video drivers out there that work with windows 7 may not be compatible with minecraft. EDIT: and from looking at the original posters info, it DOES appear that his graphics card doesn't support the dll's that minecraft needs to function. Look at what the java console says.
