IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOME MINER/ MODDER OUT THERE TO MAKE AN MP3 PLAYER MOD WITH ITS OWN GUI (after you construct it of course) THAT LETS YOU ACCESS AND PLAY ALL THE MINECRAFT SONGS, AS WELL AS THOSE IN A SPECIFIED FOLDER OR YOUR COMPUTER?
It could also have like fuel. i.e. batteries, that run out of juice after a certain time, 75 songs or so, and possibly a set of batteries once constructed that would last forever (rechargables?), or maybe like a sun powered set of batteries that would enable it to only work during the day (so you can hear the creepers coming once the sun sets)... idk just a thought. :biggrin.gif:
Talk to Alblaka of IndustrialCraft, if anyone could do this, he could.
Much more interesting would be a player of our own songs, which would have to be midis, but still cool.

Not really sure as to how about doing that... halp someone? :[
Ooh, i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like i like.
Seriously, though, I'll bet it wouldn't be too hard to pull off; perhaps if you studied the Java code for the jukeboxes (playing music) and the improved torches mod (active entity properties of in-inventory items, i think that's what it's called.).
Maybe im a little too new here but why does everybody like this? Not to troll or any but I this this would be kinda stupid to put in the actual game. As a client or seperate GUI i can see but if your in the middle of barren land and all you think about is surival why would you waste your matterials to craft an MP3 player

Yeah and what happens when you'v got yourself a nice home well fortified to protect against mobs?
This will add a nice little touch, though I won't use it sense I play without sound anyways.

Thats not my point. Im not saying that you shouldnt have some way of playing your songs in game but I think an MP3 would kind of kill the mood of minecraft if anything you should be able to import songs from a file as records or something (9 per save maybe?) and then you can gather them via crafting or dungeons maybe even mob drops
But honestly an mp3 seems out of place to me. Also I think real mp3s were made so you could listen to your music without having to make a media player for EVERYTHING. But ya know thats just my theory

I could probably do it. Not much experience with modding, but I'm pretty sufficient with java and directories. Shouldn't be too hard, to me it just seems like a dumb idea for a mod... just run iTunes in the background
I can help, not the best with gui's but i'll try, is it ok if i construct this mod for my youtube modding tutorials. got episode one up here
its pretty simple tbh you just got to specify where the folder to put the songs is and them get the item to access that folder and its contents, only problem is that the file would have to be in ogg format
Actually, I found a client that somehow allows the playing of .mp3 and.wav files. From what I've seen it doesn't use any type of audiomod either.

then just turn monecraft down to 0%
Getting tired of listening to my replacement 13 and cat discs (Sound Mod Enabler FTW)
I've seen a video surveillance mod, this should be easy in comparison, at least for ogg files, a portable Jukebox that uses .pls or .m3u files.
