After reading this thread and then reading this thread I took it upon myself to revive this texture pack. I'm a big fan of Cave Story myself, and I really wanted to make a texture pack in the past, so I thought this would be the best way to get myself in the door.
Anyway, about a quarter of this pack was not done by me, they were made by the user ForOhFor Error who has been absent since pre-Halloween update. That of course meant that I had quite a bit to do. (Oldest item that was missing was the compass!)

[] -Modified Glass (The new panes brought to light that the old glass is awful. This new version is easier to see out of. Might add a border around the edge.)

[] -Modified Redstone/Glowstone Dust (These are actual powders now. The change stemmed from the glowstone, but more on that later. Due to the lack of triangular Redstone, I changed the way redstone was placed.)

Easy Peasy.)
[] -Added xporb.png (EXP Triangles! Unfortunately I could not locate the file for the color, so for now it will flash yellow to green. I'm trying to find it.)

I don't recall the dirt in cave story being that clashing. The wood is strange, too. I realize you probably did not make those parts of the pack, but maybe consider tweaking them a little.
Yeah, I'll probably change the Dirt a bit. It is hard on the eyes. I kind of like the wood though,if I get more complaints I might change it.

Yeah the cactus is on my Todo list, and I thought the two new leaf textures were for both of the two new trees, so I'll be fixing that. Thanks for the feedback, I really liked your dyes! Mind if I use them and give you credit?

In this case, the dirt in the original pack is actually a tile straight from Cave Story's stage files. I think it's a tile from the Plantation area...
And the wood tile used to have a face on it before it was adapted into this pack.
I have to use the 1.0 version because I cannot stand the new dirt.
I am also quite upset because of the Bow.
The polar star does not have a floating blotch of white next to it. Neither should this. When I walk around with this, I want it to look like as if I'm holding a gun.

Ah, yes, the fluff is perfect for sheep. I think the original was the Doctor, so I was going to make his lab coat.
Also updated the sig code so it should work now.
Now that most of the pack is made, I wanted to go back and revise some items/textures, give me ideas for what to do! I want to redo these:
-Swords (planning on making them more like the Cave Story sword)
-Signs (there are actual signs in CS, and look nothing like the current ones)
-Redstone/Glowstone Dust (don't know what to do though)
-Bowls/Buckets (maybe) -Minecarts/Boats (items don't match textures)
-Sugar Cane (mainly the item, but texture too)
-Wheat (item)
-Ink sac (needs slight revision)
-Ghast fireball (if possible)
-Watch/Compass (only needed if I make custom water/lava)
-Change all other default items (as needed)
-TNT (never liked it, didn't translate well from item to texture) -Jukebox/Note Block (seems out of place)
-Custom Torches!
-Custom Sapling!
-Wheat: Considering the texture on the terrain.png, I'd suggest replacing the item with red petals.
-Glowstone dust: I was considering adapting the triple star item icon.
-Ink sac: ...Jellyfish juice bottle with ink inside? Now that I think about it that probably would have been a better thing to base the dyes of off...
-Noteblock/jukebox: Might I suggest the textures I used for them? :biggrin.gif: *shot*

Suggestions:
-Cactus texture needs to be widened, the only transparent pixels should be at the very edge.
-The new leaf textures... well, they look really good, but Minecraft uses those textures for the same block... the one on the left is used in "fancy" mode, with transparent pixels, and the one on the right in "fast" mode, with no transparent pixels.
But yeah, this is awesome.
Yeah, I'll probably change the Dirt a bit. It is hard on the eyes. I kind of like the wood though,if I get more complaints I might change it.
Yeah the cactus is on my Todo list, and I thought the two new leaf textures were for both of the two new trees, so I'll be fixing that. Thanks for the feedback, I really liked your dyes! Mind if I use them and give you credit?
Sure, you can use them.
In this case, the dirt in the original pack is actually a tile straight from Cave Story's stage files. I think it's a tile from the Plantation area...
And the wood tile used to have a face on it before it was adapted into this pack.

I have to use the 1.0 version because I cannot stand the new dirt.
I am also quite upset because of the Bow.
The polar star does not have a floating blotch of white next to it. Neither should this. When I walk around with this, I want it to look like as if I'm holding a gun.

EDIT: I tried to add the banner to my sig, but it gave me the error: could not determine the dimensions of the image.
Also updated the sig code so it should work now.
Now that most of the pack is made, I wanted to go back and revise some items/textures, give me ideas for what to do! I want to redo these:
-Swords (planning on making them more like the Cave Story sword)-Signs (there are actual signs in CS, and look nothing like the current ones)
-Redstone/Glowstone Dust (don't know what to do though)
-Bowls/Buckets (maybe)
-Minecarts/Boats (items don't match textures)-Sugar Cane (mainly the item, but texture too)
-Wheat (item)
-Ink sac (needs slight revision)
-Ghast fireball (if possible)
-Watch/Compass (only needed if I make custom water/lava)
-Change all other default items (as needed)
-TNT (never liked it, didn't translate well from item to texture)
-Jukebox/Note Block (seems out of place)-Custom Torches!
-Custom Sapling!

-Wheat: Considering the texture on the terrain.png, I'd suggest replacing the item with red petals.
-Glowstone dust: I was considering adapting the triple star item icon.
-Ink sac: ...Jellyfish juice bottle with ink inside? Now that I think about it that probably would have been a better thing to base the dyes of off...
-Noteblock/jukebox: Might I suggest the textures I used for them? :biggrin.gif: *shot*
Really liking this pack. Dunno what you could replace the sugarcane texture with, though... might have to do one from scratch in Cave Story style.
