Hey guys, I wanted to share something with you that I made recently for my subscribers on YouTube.
I noticed in this thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1020&t=172407 that the OP made a beautiful double helix and briefly mentioned how one could be made. I followed his instructions, but found a better way, which I explain in my tutorial.
Here is the LP containing the tutorial:
And here is the completion of the source sphere:
I then made a larger helix (7x7 instead of 3x3) and showed it in the following video, but don't have a full tutorial because it's basically the same as the other one:
Sorry if this seems like shameless self-promotion as it isn't intended to be. I got a huge response on YT about the helixes and figured the community would enjoy them. Let me know what you think and post any questions you have!
Anyway you could post a picture/screenshot or two of what the first layer of the 7x7 helix looks like, maybe the first two or three layers so I can see what pattern needs to be repeated for that one?
The middle is your circle you are tracking around and the water is water or lava. Every space you go, you increase the height 1 in order to get the spiral effect, same as the other spiral. You are basically just tracing around this circle with whatever material and covering it with glass to prevent spilling.
I hope this helps! I'm at work and can't post in game screens.
