Currently working on an Arabian inspired sand fortress. What do you think so far? About 60% done. After structure is finished we'll begin making it truly functional, ways to get in, furniture, lavafall, throne room, etc.
Thanks. Texture pack is a work in progress, it's unreleased but almost ready. Probably would have released this weekend if we weren't busy making this. Going to make slight tweak to a crack in the sandstone block. Best way to test a texture pack is to play. :biggrin.gif:
We will release the schematic of this project when finished.
It will probably be a while to finish all the details, place is huge but we will post the schematic. If I can figure out how to trim down the world, we'll post the actual save. World size is pretty massive. Took us forever to find a decent desert to build this in.

lol i always find massive deserts maybe ill build something like this by the way that's really kool
EPIC WIN When its done, try to get a server admin to somehow save it and send it.
I'm running the server on my computer and we're building over the local network. I'm fairly certain I've heard of cropping off chunks to reduce world size. Anyone know of an application that will let me do that? I also need to move the spawn point, since this desert is no where near the original spawn. Either way, we defiantly want to share the finished structure. No point in keeping it on our local server.
I know I can make a schematic of it. I'll probably have to include a portion of the desert since it isn't built on flat land.
We are quite a ways into cleaning up the oddities, detailing and lighting it. :biggrin.gif: Proooobably not going to finish tonight but we'll update here & the PMC project page.
It's sandstone. The texture splits the block into 2 large "bricks" of refined sandstone, offset to help blend 1 minecraft block with the next. The difference between sandstone and sand is more noticeable when we're closer. Sand has waves & a warmer tone than the original and I tried to give sandstone a golden / ancient feel to it while not looking like gold at all. I was thinking of Egyptian structures. Top of the sandstone is actually 1 block with a border like halfsteps. Although, it should technically be split, it looks much better to have the contrast between floor & wall textures. Making it look like your walking on solid blocks, makes you feel smaller and the structures more epic :biggrin.gif:
Here's a closer view with sand & sandstone for you to compare: Also a good shot of my cactus :biggrin.gif:
I'll release the first version of my texture pack soon. It's 16x16.
More pics on the PMC page.
Edit: Continuing to develop the last major addition. Throne room will go in here somewhere.
