Here's my 2nd suggestion that does not come in the form of a wishlist like last time. And yes, the title has a meaning which I will explain later.
I started using a bow which seems to be far more efficient in combat then anything else in the game. While I slaughtered monsters in caves and night time, it dawned on me there was a flaw with the use of the bow, particulary on the enemy's side of things: No weak areas on a monster. Normally, if a person is shot in the head, they die. Wouldn't it be ideal as well to include that in this game? Snipe a zombie in the head with a bow, he should receive severe damage (maybe 2x-3x?).
Additionally, I noticed you're not able to take arrows skeletons fire at you. An arrow is an arrow and looks exactly like the ones you shoot and I suggest being able to take the enemy's arrows, but after you kill them. If not, why not just change the arrow? Make it either brittle that are destroyed as soon as it hits anything besides you or some other (possibly foreign) design and you have no idea on how to use it.
But how would I keep my hands from shakin', my hands from shakin'?
For real though, I like the idea of Location-Based damage. Right now, its just a simple HEAD > BODY thing, but maybe later we'll get giant turtles or skeletons with shields or what have you, and they'll fit in well.
Also, unless I am mistaken, you can destroy a block an arrow is a stuck in an retrieve the arrow. Am I correct?
Pizzaro, the reason you cannot pick up skeletons Arrows is simple. People will just keep dodging there arrows and just keep humping around them from far away so they would get pretty much unlimited arrows.
I like the idea. Although with the speed arrows can be shot, you're just asking for at least two to the face. I would also like to be able to pick up the arrows too, but that could easily be exploited. (Run around them in a circle and hey, free arrows)

You have to read closely to what I said earlier. :tongue.gif:
You can only pick them up only after the skeleton is killed since they count for no one now. And there cam only be so many arrows littering on the floor because the older ones eventually disappear.
it would be a bit silly for arrows to be untakable just because the thing that shot them's still alive, (or, undead)
it'd be better to have skeletons actively try to take arrows as they go, too, so you and the still-living skeleton are fighting over them, while using them.
The only problem I see with this is on the implementation side of things.
Handling the event when an arrow is fired and checking for collision is nice enough, but go too far with the location of the collision, and you're talking about THE BIG FAT MEMORY HOG THREAD THAT EATS YOUR GAME ALIVE FOR BREAKFAST.
Head v Body works fine. Don't get any ideas beyond that, please, for the sake of performance.

Ok, you are really overestimating the cost of determining the exact hit location. I do it on a regular basis in my games, and I've had games with 10000s of shots and 100s of enemies at the same time with no problem (yes, it was the same game). It is not hard to optimize.
u know that zombies have no brains and that on arow usaly dont kills on skeleton because it's just bones. Logic is it not. It would only work with spiders
wat...
anyways, on the note of logic, people are trained to shoot the torso because is has more of the vital organs. In vidya, we aim for the head because the enemy is just pixels that may or may not be controlled by somebody...logic is null.
I like the idea of rewarding skilled players. If a guy can shoot a skeleton in the head, it SHOULD die quicker. Maybe not one shot, of course, but quicker than normal.
I don't think this would work since creepers and spiders are the only ones to possibly have brains. Creepers don't seem smart (they kill them selves, is that sound smart to you?), so I don't know if they will be effected a lot.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.

A buch of terrorists would disagree with you. So do family members of those who commit suicide.
As far as this idea goes, I am not in favor of a critical hit system. I consider a critical hit to be shooting a creeper with a bow and it falling off a cliff and dying from fall damage.
Well I would like to argue with terrorists about their crazy and zany ideas about blowing up when they could of had a whole life ahead of them.

In their view, their cowardly and overzealous decision to blow themselves up would lead toward martyrdom where they get 70 virgins. It does not make any sense to me; but if these people were taught since childhood, it is difficult to overcome the brainwashing and begin living normal lives again.
If someone grew up with racially bigoted parents, they are partial toward becoming racist simply because that's the atmosphere they grew up around. It doesn't make it right, and it makes them a better person to shun and ignore these views even with the presence of their fore bearers.
It is difficult to know what's right when you're surrounded by the normalcy of wrong.
