With all these guilds/clans and other people wanting to have cities or whatever, I suggest every server could hold agleast 60 people or maybe even more. I know it will be hard, but wouldn't it be awesome with bigger wars? It may be laggy, but as long as its fun.. its well fun :smile.gif: Imagine it, cities of 30-40 people, going to war, imagine those epic battles. It my opinion, dont let server limit be something like 30, lets let it be 60+. Again, it would be laggy, but it would be Awesome!
It's not going to be an MMO, Notch's been over that.
As far as games go, the normal upward limit is 64, I think the engine might be able to eek by on 128, but I'm doubtful. Servers aren't going to be static, meaning owners will be able to host their own.
Everyone, fan out, we're gunna explore the entire world!
yeah, idk, I want huge epic real world mimicking maps, but I doubt it'll be supported, at least not for a while, plus, even 30 people would get pretty damn epic.
Biggest limiting factor is the JAVA ram usage and the fact that Mojang, for some reason, developed the server software to only use ONE core.
I run a minecraft server... average users are about 10 to 20. Just dropped 1100 on a new machine only to find that minecraft can only use 1 of the 8 cores.
You sir, Are amazing.
That is what I am thinking!
There should only be a few servers with a lot of people, Then bigger wars can happen, Bigger companies, Etc.
