Summary: best performance with Water Shader alpha v4d
How to drastically reduce fps drop using a series of mods, mod patches, and ram allocation changes when using Optifine + water Shader v4d mods and patch.

First off as with every installation I recommend a fresh /minecraft folder.

Then go to: http://www.minecraft...ps-boost-hd-tex

Note: The version of optifine I use is Optifine 1.8.1_HD_S_D.

Also do not be detered by the Version of optifine the patch on reddit says it fixes, it will work with this version and most likely the Optifine 1.8.1_HD D.

Reddit Optfine+Water Shader alpha v4d: http://www.reddit.co..._optifine_patch

Don't forget the /META-INF

After installing the patch it would be wise to test minecraft!

if all is good go here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/542215-181-water-shader-alpha-v4d/

install the water shader.

Next navigate to: /.minecraft/bin/shader/cofig

open the config with any word program.

Next find, and change: anti-aliasing to 1

Then find and change: reflection_resolution to 2

next google search "allocate more memory to minecraft"
(if able to)

Finally profit

Edit: Just noticed optifine was updated, I tested it with the 1.8.1_HD_S_D2 and it works perfectly

Remember to watch the whole video as I correct a mistake made in the installation.

@codycg if using modloader try installing it before optifine. and always back up file so you don't have to re-install everything

This optfine stuff always gives me the black screen and I'm left with re-installing all my mods.
