Do you hear a fan going while it's on? On laptops while idling the only thing you should hear is the fan, if you don't your fan may have died.

Do you hear the fans running while playing? If you don't, open up the laptop and clean all the dust out. It sounds a lot like your laptop is overheating.

Yes it is going to get hot, laptops have poor cooling to begin with.

Is the fan spinning when it gets hot? If not the fan may be so clogged with dust it isn't moving, or it might be dead.

There should be a backplate under the laptop you can take off to clean the grill of the fan.

Get a can of compressed air and blow all of the dust out of the back of it.

Make sure you keep the fan still with a toothpick or something, and make sure the computer is off, unplugged, and the battery is taken out.

Spinning the fan will generate a charge and could short the motherboard.

I am having the same problem I have been doing tests and I think it is the processor when im not on minecraft my temp is 40-45 oC and when im on minecraft it is as high as 80-90 oC so I would try testing your processor fan or get a new one.
I used HWMonitor test this.
Hope this helps
