I hereby give permission for Acel's Angel to be used by anyone for any kind of Adventure Map playthrough video that may arise. Please credit me as the map creator.
Ah, you are as timely as ever, angel. And good thing, too; we have summoned you to our chamber to discuss a task of the utmost importance.
A human woman named Elsy has been praying to us for years now. Her young son, Acel, has been kidnapped by a very powerful - and, incidentally, very evil - man. He has thus far slain every last one of your comrades whom we sent ahead of you to rescue the boy. This is why we have called you.
If any heavenly being can return Acel to safety, it is you. Now go, GO!

It was FANTASTIC. It had an interesting and captivating plot, intricate puzzles, beautiful landscapes, and a good amount of supplies to keep you going. c: Great job! -- ResRev
I loved this map. Loved how you have a doggie companion who gives you advice. Great job. -- bobsuruncle77
This map was absolutely awesome. Best adventure map i've played in some time! I really liked the wolf companion and the maze around the fortress, because it was so different from all the other mazes you see in adventure maps. -- Tarrock

Change Log:
1.0 - Game is released!
1.1 - Fixed glitchy doors that came with Anvil
Fixed spawning in the Third Trial
Fixed the trapdoors in the Second Trial
Made instructions at the end more clear
Made it harder for wolves to fall and die at the end
2.0 - COMPLETE OVERHAUL
Turned all lengthy dialogue into books. Short dialogue is still on single signs.
Re-did the first town so that it looks better. Same with the temple.
Created a dead dragon corpse outside of the village.
Completely revised the First Trial; it's not tedious and annoying anymore
Made adjustments to the Second Trial; added spawn points with Command Blocks
Made adjustments to the Third Trial; added spawn points, made it so mobs won't spawn CONSTANTLY.
Revised the final maze; now you won't walk around forever before discovering a dead end.
Completely re-did the fortress from scratch!
Final boss fight!
Removed a good deal of armor and stuff to make the player less OP. Still plenty, though!
Don't read this if you haven't gotten to the end of the map!
I liked this map, was of good length and difficulty. I actually enjoyed doing the maze at the end. I liked the plot, too. I was shocked when Wren actually turned out to be Sender and Elsy was the villain. There were three things, I should say, that should be "fixed".
First one, in one of the trials (where you had to go to the other side of a dark room filled with monsters) the only one where I had to do anything were the first two rooms. In the first room it was normal. There were a bunch of enemies all around. After a minute or so, however, it started to lag horribly because of one of the first two rooms. It was constant, so the only way for it to stop would be to move out of the area. Afterwards, I continued the trial but all the rooms after that were empty (could be wrong, as I didn't really look). I could sprint across to the other side without taking any damage whatsoever.
The second thing is at the end of one of the trials there's a challenge called Lava Sprint or something like that. It was with trapdoors over a lava pit. There was barely any challenge. All you had to do was close the Trapdoors alternatively and you could go across. Thinking that it was a malfunction, I replaced the Redstone Torch but still, the same thing. The only thing that seemed to work was the Trapdoors opening after some time.
Third thing is when you are about to save Acel in the cage. Right before there is a pad (a sign says to step on it) which blows up TNT which destroys part of the Sandstone path. Then, after that there is a lever with a sign saying not to activate it yet. So I read the signs and it says to use your magic to break the cage. Right next to the lever mentioned before was a sign saying "Magic!", so I activate it thinking that it's how you do your magic. However, it doesn't break the cage and instead makes TNT explode and release a lot of lava. I obviously thought I did something wrong, so I thought of what to do next. I tried to free Acel using the Diamond Sword but it was too slow and the lava was already near the ground. The lava then kills Sender and Acel and traps me. Even if I went through the lava with the Diamond Armour, there would be nothing to do as Sender, Acel and Elsy are dead. You should make it a bit more clear or change what the lever does, because that's how the map abruptly ended for me.
Thank you very much for your input! I'll be sure to fix those bugs as soon as I can c: I'm glad that you enjoyed it~
Also, my apologies for taking so long to respond; computer problems :l
Have many downloaded this map? I've been recommending it to some YT LP's as I'd like to see this map on you tube - don't know if they read the comments though.

So far, less than 10 people have played it, unfortunately. I really appreciate you recommending it, though! Thanks so much! I'd also love to see someone LP it~
Can't seem to find this in your first post so I'd like to ask: is this for multiplayer as well, or just single player?
It looks like a lovely adventure map. If it's multiplayer, I'll be sure to make a let's play video with my pal. Might just do it even if it isn't, actually.

My appologies for taking so long to respond; I've been inactive on the forums for a while.
Unfortunately, since I am a total n00b when it comes to a lot of things, I have not been able to make it specifically multiplayer compatible. I'll do my best to make it so, though!
Furthermore, I'd just like to throw this out there; I'm releasing version 2.0 of the map today. I've completely overhauled a great deal of things, and it's a much smoother game now~

Keep up the awesome work! =)
My apologies for taking so long to reply. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing~
the final fortress was cut off at the maze, like it was the fortress than it was just cut off and went into the ocean and regular world
Sorry for taking so long to respond, I'm not incredibly active on this site. I'm so sorry to hear about that glitch. I never encountered it during my beta testing of the map, but I'll make sure to try to recreate it in the future so that I can fix it for others who might have had this problem. Thank you for the feedback!
Ive played this map just now and I really enjoyed it.
Especcially the beginning got to me, it really had much atmosphere and was pretty fun. The trials however were not-so-great and kinda frustrating, I actually set my game to peaceful since I didnt even get into the first room of the third trial, because THE WHOLE ROOM was filled with mobs. im used to playing Vechs' super hostile maps but the amount of zombies was ridiculous. Actually, most of the trials were... average, nothing too fancy, buuuuut I really enjoyed the story and played the map through to the end (yes, I did burn down the hedgemaze, its your fault you gave me that flint and steel and no rule forbid me to burn it down!)
I liked the plot you made there, and actually I didnt trust the wolf at all - turned out he was the good guy, so that tricked me. However, I got to the best ending in the end, despite me running OUT of the tower (fleeing from the lava) so I didnt enter the library and the bathhouse and went straight for the bunker, so if there was anything of interest, I missed it.
Also, another thing was that I accidentally left the game area several times, ending up SOMEWHERE in the world. sometimes the path wasnt really clear, especcially that "Burn the wool" Trial annoyed me, because there was no hint. So I searched the room and found a dirt block in the bedrock ceiling. Broke it, water flowed in. I swam up the stream and ended up underneath a frozen sea. I thought I solved the riddle, got out of the water and then stood in the middle of nowhere - had a hard time finding that hole underneath the ice after that...
Soooo all in all:
Really great story, it has lots of tension and potential, the map itself was okay, frustrating at times. But when you make your way through, one will be rewarded with lovely ideas and a pretty dark scenario overall. Good work! ^.^
I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself over all. My apologies for taking so long to reply. Thank you so much for the feedback, I actually used some of your reports in order to fix the map for version 2.0. There are still some kinks to work out, as with any adventure map, but I feel as though I've ironed out a few of the problems you found (such as the ridiculous amount of mobs spawning. My apologies for that).
I worked a great deal on the story line, and tried my best to make the plot twist regarding the wolf an exciting moment of revelation, so I'm glad to hear that it had the desired effect upon you! Thank you so much for playing the map, and for providing feedback!
