This week's snapshot is available for testing! Below is the list of changes, as per Jeb's notes on the Mojang site:

  • New jungle-specific mob that can be tamed
  • Skeletons have new AI and a few new behaviors
  • Various minor bug fixes and changes
  • Added an experience item to creative mode
  • Added a flame item…
  • Updated language files

Additionally, some players have been trying to track changes not otherwise noted, and here's what Reddit writer keozen has compiled so far:

  • A strange "well-type-thing" (technical term) people are finding in the desert
  • Jungle Tree Saplings (thanks Minecraftman1)
  • The textures for dispensers and saplings have been changed. (thanks Minecraftman1)
  • If a 2x2 square of Jungle Tree Saplings is made and one is fertilized with bone meal, a huge tree is made (Thank you, Wolfrose88 via Minecraftman1)
  • When Ocelots are bred, they will give birth to...KITTENS! They come in black, red or siamese. :o (thanks Minecraftman1)

New mob:

The new mob is an ocelot. You can both tame and breed them with Raw Fish.

They can be quite evasive when untamed. They also attack chickens.

New Skeleton AI/behavior:

Now avoids sunlight; will either jump in the nearest block of water or get under a shade.

Bug fixes:

Zombies no longer spin intermittently when unable to reach the player.

Player's head in the inventory screen is no longer stationary.

Zombies no longer attempt to leap over fences.

Wolf tail gauge health properly again.

New items:

Fire Charge - Shoots a blaze fireball when loaded in a dispenser. Acts similar to Flint and Steel when held.

Bottle o' Enchanting - Accessible through Creative Mode only; will drop XP orbs when flung.

Yay kitties!!! ahem...err I mean nice additions these last 2 snapshots! I'm liking the new AI improvements...now you need to keep ALL animals and mobs from going swimming all the time...that would be a very nice change indeed!

You never had to use shears to pick up lily pads though. Are you talking about vines?

There is a Bottle o' Enchanting item that gives you enchantment pellets, and there is also a Fire Charge that looks like a ghast ball. All that it does is set stuff on fire. Third person view is better now too, your head moves with the camera. New mob is pretty cool... I hope to see it do something useful in the future. To tame it you have to stare at it for 2 hours with a fish.....

Oh yes. Amazing.

Ocelot's are the only mob to sprint, when tamed they turn one of three colours... cat colour genes are carried through breeding like sheep wool colour genes. If you have 2 colours, it's a 50/50 chance. If you have 1 colour, it's gaurenteed the baby will be that colour.

when running, dropping an item no longer is thrown in front of you, it drops from the center of your character.

Not sure if this got added in 12w04a, but you can now climb up vines like ladders if they are sticked to a block!
