With the exception of the latest update notes this thread is currently out of date.  Please check back on saturdays for updated content.  Updated Download Comming Soon!  Advise and Ideas are welcomed and encouraged!

For those of you who have commented both here and my youtube channel your words are greatly appreciated!  I am back now, and I will be updating this pack for 1.3 and the future 1.4.  Thank you all again and I hope to bring you more of what you like!

First, this pack is skinned over another texture pack.  So please do not rage if you see someone else's texture pack.  We all skinned over notch's origionally, I just skinned over someone else's =).  You will be able to tell whats been skinned.

INSTRUCTIONS

1:  Download and Save My Tex Pak to a familiar location.
2:  Download and Run MCPatcher using the link provided above.
3:  FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS LOCATED IN THE SAME THREAD THE ABOVE LINK TOOK YOU TOO.
4:  In the event Monecraft turns Black when you start it up and will nto load, you will need to update your version of MCPatcher and or uncheck animated wate and animated lava.

THE MOUSE HATH RETURNED!!!

It is the year of our lord 2012, in the 8th month on the 28th day.  It was told that from the ashes of nothing a rodent would arise and to update and finish what was started so long ago.  The world around him would be different.  The lands would have evolved!  And all he once knew would be forever lost to him.

But from this will arise a new era of awesome!  The rodent will once again reshape the world into the image of Tron and all of Minecraft shall know his name!

Anyway, I reinvisioned my tex pac, and sat back and asked myself.  Do I feel like I am in the tron univers when I play.  The Answer was, NO.  Sure its a great looking pack, but my headstrong efforts to stay away from rezcraft, (an equally awesome Tron Styled Texture pack by Soulscribe) has kept me from being able to apply the layer of "Tron" which I so desperately desired to layer.

First and Formost, the Hex pattern which is ABUNDANT throughout the tron movie was implemented by SoulScribe, so I tried to go with a diamond pattern.  It was nice, but it took away from the Tron feel.
Second was the derezzing of the Bricks.  RezCraft did if first so I coould ONLY be copying if I did it.  So I didn't.  However "derezing" is also an abundat idea within the Tron universe.  My derezing is quit unique compared to SoulScribes and as you will soon see, Unique to Minecraft as well.

As I, err, I mean, WE, continue the stages of evolution towards a complete texture pack, you will not only enhance your MineCraft playing experience, but also allow you to reimagine the Tron Universe in your own MineCreations.

Merry Christmas to EVERYONE!!!!  Happy Holidays!!!  I've Finally uploaded my beta and NO its not complete but my time is limited.  ENJOY and I will continue to upload updates.

Dec 13 2010, after considerable feedback, I have upgraded my texture pack to add to the feel and overall theme.  I was unaware that soulscribe had RezCraft untill earlier this week and I was origionally going to cease my work as to not duplicate.

I decided to continue with my current texture pack and hopefully add my own unique touch to this theme.  Some Ideas WILL be duplicated as is the case with the derezzing of the bricks, I was going to go with a pinwheel style counter for brick breaking because Soulscribe had already done the Derezzing, but again I feel mine will be unique enough.

My pack is also 128 x 128 which will allow for more vibrant and detailed textures as this tex pack progresses.

Apparently UMG has a C right on all things said by Jeff Bridges.  Soooo I've changed the audio track on the video and that should fix things.  I am now embarrassed.  This is the oddest thing I know and it has aggrivated me to no end.

Video should work now.  The link works for me.  Yes its a bit more cinematic than necessary, but its all a learning experience and a lot of tests in one short video.  =)

The origional texture that I used for a base is the AaGeOn's BumpMaft HD texture Pack[v1.3.5].

Wow I will so download this when it's done. It looks really good so far keep up the great work! Though the health bar I think could look better and the quick select looks good in bubbles but I'm not sure that's very tron-like but meh.

I agree the health bar and quick select are not very tron"ish" however given the limitations I have to work with I am unsure what direction to take.  Any and all ideas are welcomed.

How to get embeded videos in your posts.
Find the youtube video ID in the URL (Which in your video's case "FmIrFKYGoGs").
EG:
Your link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmIrFKYGoGs

Copy that and paste it in your post. Then highlight that code and press the youtube button and there you have it.

I posted so pics and new video with "Hopefully" working audio.  Let me know what you think and thanks everyone for your input and feedback thus far.  After seeing the new movie I have deffinately been inspired with the feel and theme of tron.

I took some time to darken the theme a bit and add a bit more texture to some of the more basic bricks and take away for some others.  You will see a considerable difference and IMO for the better.

Helth bar and quick select are next to get my attention.

Download comming as soon as I finish the texture.png, tonight or tomorrow.  Once I finish the basic texture.png I will rework the GUI followed by Items.  Currently I am stuck on the water and lava.  I would hate to do so, but I may leave them as default for now and get back to them later.

Any ideas on the best way to digitise water or a Tron theme are welcomed.  I have a few ideas of my own, most of which either fail to look good in motion or failt o capture the feel.  The origional movie had one scene with water in it but there was nothing special to it.

Lava will be dark blue with highlights.  Kind of simple to fill out and keep looking good while flowing.

There are a few more blocks to fill out and as soon as they are the DL will be up 30 mins later.

I see your point and agree (to an extent).  Allow me an explination.  Prior to this version of the pack I had different looking blocks.  The result was a colorful techno "nontronish" looking texture pack.  After viewing the movie and feedback from others, I've decided to minimize the diversity of colors and looks.

The tex pak as it is now, and IMO, is designed in a way that you can still distinguish between the types of blocks by color and slight pattern differences.  For example, standard blocks such as Stone, Cobblestone, Sand, Soil, and Grass share the same pattern but with different, dull colors for telling the differences.  Blocks with ores such as Iron, Coal, Diamond, Redstone, and Gold look the same as the standard blocks except they have "glowing" orbs to reflect they contain ores.  These blocks, with the exception of coal and iron, are more vibrant in color and NOTICEBLY different.  Even still they have very basic color scheme and are still dark in contrast to the origional tex pak.

The idea is to keep things as simple and repeatitive as possible without becomming to dull and boring while at the same time maintaining the overall feel of being in the Tron universe.  Tron itself contained very repeatitive patters and color schemes.  Everything was till green, light blue, red, or white.  The new movie keeps this same color scheme with the inclusion of purple and green and slightly more vibrant colors, however patterns repeat ALOT.

I hope this helps you see why I chose to keep the pattern scheme the way it is rather than making different blocks per voxel.

But the beauty of minecraft is that yo are free to change what you don't like and keep what you do.  My pack will be up VERY soon and by all means please take it and make you own from my ideas.  As an artist I would feel appreciated if you did so.  =)

I've done my best to get a working zip file up for everyone hows asked but unfortuantly I've been tied down with work to finish everything on my list of To Do's before I post the zip.  2 more days and its gold.

Looking sexy as ever :) I would like to make some character skins to go with this as well I can post em up here or email them to you for the pack. So far I have the orange soldiers, a 'Tron' with helm and a slight mod on the common Tron themed skin I see here.

Will this theme pack be a file we can put in the theme folder instead of opening the .jar file? I believe as the beta comes out making texture packs you do not have to inject into the main file will be much easier to package and deliver.

Definitely hit me up when this drops!

I am terribly sorry to not keep up in responses to your questions.  Emergencies at work and the holidays have kept me sooooo  very busy.  As a result and due to prioratising this tex pack has been set to the back burner.  

Now with all the shopping, gift wrapping, PC's repaired, yadda, yadda, yadda, all done I will be able to sum up my work on this Tex Pack.

I appreciate everyones feed back both positive and negative and will get this up asap.  The texture.png is almost done for beta, but my ONLY worry is that I feel the textures look AWESOME as individual blocks but lack the overall "tron" feel when stacked.  The repatitive nature of minecraft is not a good way to reproduce a Tron feel and this coupled with my perfectionist nature is driving me up the wall as its hard for me to let it go.

Also, glass...  OMG I have so many awesome ideas for glass, but the texture does not allow for fading or transparency.  As a result we are left with ONLY the ability to create limited textures for transparent objects.  Hurts my feelings =,(

But I am currently stuck on glass a few other blocks for the texture.png.  Afterwords the pack will be ready.

It is currently 128x128 and requires MCPatcher to install.  This may change give the release of the beta as I have yet to work with the beta.

Seems like this Texture Pack would entirely change the feeling of Minecraft's surroundings, it looks great so far and i'll make so to download the TP when you've finished it.

If you would like some refrence and content help/suggestions I would be happy to make some suggestions, just let me know what block you need and I can toss out ideas...

As for glass I would go with that digital wall thing that was in the outlands... that was epic :Iron:
