let's say:
Gold pickaxe or diamond pickaxe?

but if you go in INVedit, it list weapons and armor from worst to best. and diamond come before gold. can we get someone to give a definitive answer plz? its hard question to answer. : Someone answer this conundrum!

Well Gold does some thing faster than diamond, thats why with invedit change the damage of gold to -99999 and it will be invincible, i have a gold and diamond of each tool.

For Example: Gold Pickaxe mines stone and coal alot faster than Diamond, but Diamond mines Ores alot faster than Gold

Well, diamond has tons of durability and great mining speed, but gold has very little durability but FAST mining speed. And I mean FAST

They have different usage.
If you want to do "normal and actual" things, go for diamonds
but gold, for example if you mine stone you get stone, not cob. stone. if you cut grass with gold axe, you get grass, if you pick grass with gold shovel you get grass, not dirt. and the list goes on.

Gold is less durable but mines the quickest. The only ore it can mine is coal (pretty sure) and it can't mine obsidian.

Diamond lasts a VERY long time. and is slightly slower than gold, but not at a very noticeable difference. Diamond can mine all ores including obsidian.

Choose; Diamond is much better in my opinion, but since gold is an infinite resource now, so gold pickaxes might be a good choice for clearing areas out fast.

I haven't made a gold pickaxe yet (simply because I had a gold shovel and it didn't last long) so I am biased towards Diamonds.

gold durability is 33 wood is  100 diamond is urm 1000 and something i forget so whic one do you think is better only use gold if you have infinite tools mod or whatever its called cos gold is fast

I think there should be certain uses for gold tools/weapons added. Maybe the ability to kill certain mobs faster. Maybe to break certain blocks faster.

If you are factoring in speed for gold pickaxes, then you need to consider the time needed to craft them, and chest runs to grab more of them for when they all break. So, without doing any math, I would say the Diamond picks actually save you time in the long run.

(I was thinking if you were going to use gold to match diamond in amount of blocks mined)
