Having played around with a lot of the mods on my laptop, I decided that I needed an easy way to be able to install them, so I created a simple python script.

Note, it only works on Mac and Linux at the moment, I'll add in windows support later. (Although it might work, I doubt it It should work on Windows, but untested). It's also just command line.

All you need for it is python which comes with most linux distress and with mac.
To run it just download it, and save as mod_manager.py. Type the following:

python mod_manager.py <route to folder of mod>


Doesn't work with mod loader yet. If you're interested in me developing this further and giving it a frontend, please post here.

EDIT: Looking at the code, it would appear that this should work on Windows, as long as you put in the correct path to minecraft.jar, if someone could tell me where the path to this is on Windows that would be great.

First time I've ever seen anything to come out for Mac/Linux first.

It should work under windows if I get my act together and change a few lines. You'd still have to enter in the path to the minecraft bin though.
