Heya guys!
Nowaday, you know that minecrafters can build trap such as pitfall...drown trap...lava trap....and much more.In minecraft, everything(Blocks, items) only take 1 space. How bout taking more space? Now lets get to topic..TrapCraft

1)Spike
Speciality:The most basic trap MATERIALS that only requires 2x2 crafting grid to craft but really weak.

Crafting:
:Flint:  :Flint:
[]  []

Demage:It does 1.5 heart demage to mob and it push mobs back 3 blocks. But player can get demage also, becareful :Notch: .

Conclusion:It only does low demage but useful for keeping those pesky creeper away when you're mining.I don't suggest using this for killing mobs.

2)Fire sprayer:
Speciality:This trap is really useful on killing mobs that it deals high demage and push mobs. But it require some serious material.(Although it can activicated by player or monster.)

Crafting: :Red: = Redstone Dust
:_:  :_:  :_:
:Red:  []  []
{SMILIES_PATH}/flintnsteel.png  {SMILIES_PATH}/flintnsteel.png  {SMILIES_PATH}/flintnsteel.png

Demage:It does 3 demage to mob and causing fire on them.It push mobs back up to 5 blocks.Super effective to zombie and skeletons since these mobs are scared by  :VV: and can be easily killed by it.But it can set off creeper and explode even they died because of FIRE.

Conclusion:It requires 3 cobblestone,1 redstone dust,3 iron,3 flint to make.Though it is really good at hunting mob down.I dont recommend it to fight with creeper since it set off them.

3)Trap Blueprint
Speciality:Allows you to craft more advanced traps but ONLY had 1 use(You can only write your trap plans on blueprint 1 time).

Crafting: :bookshelf: =Paper

:bookshelf:  :|:  :bookshelf:
:bookshelf:  :bookshelf:  :bookshelf:
:bookshelf:  :bookshelf:  :bookshelf:

Conclusion:A must for advanced tools.

4)Rubber Long String
Speciality:An item that can used to craft variety of traps.

Crafting: :Spider: = String  :Skeleton: = Leather(dropped by cow)

:Spider:  []  []
[]  :Skeleton:  []
[]  []  :Spider:

Conclusion:Another super important things to craft advanced traps.

5)Lure
Speciality:An item can be used by right clicking or used by crafting traps.

Crafting: :Skeleton: = Milk Bucket
:Portabella:  []  :Portabella:
:Skeleton:  :Portabella:  :Portabella:
:Portabella:  :Portabella:  :Portabella:
(I cant think anymore better lure crafting materials, perharps you can leave an idea.)

Conclusion:A thing to lure everything to come(Including  :SSSS:   :Pig:   :Sheep:   :Skeleton:   :Spider:   :Zombie:  and more.)

6)Huge Bucket:
Speciality:Can placed on blocks to catch any animals and monsters.

Crafting: :Iron: = Empty Bucket

[]  :Iron:  :Iron:
[]  :Iron:  :Iron:
[]  []  []

Conclusion:Mostly used by humane minecrafters.

7)Lure o' Bucket
Speciality:It need either sticks(catch anything that touch on the Lure o' Bucket) or long rubber string(can catch anything you decide) to craft.

Crafting: :chestfront: = Huge Bucket  :Spider: = Long rubber string  :YFlower: = Lure
Sticks:
[]  :chestfront:  []
:|:  []  []
[]  :YFlower:  []
Long Rubber String:
[]  :chestfront:  []
[]  :|:  :Spider:
[]  :YFlower:  []

Conclusion:Long Rubber String can be activicate from distance by right clicking on it(You need to place long rubber string just like redstone dust)(long rubber string take up to 3 spaces)But sticks will catch anything without clicking, you decide.

1 Ton Block(As suggested by a minecrafters...*PS:I forget the name)

A real heavy block which need ROPES...not redstone to activicate by a pressure plate which pressed making the 1 Ton Block fell.

Crafting:

:Notch:  :cobblestone:  :cobblestone:
:cobblestone:  :cobblestone:  :cobblestone:
:cobblestone:  :cobblestone:  :cobblestone:
(Have better craft suggestion?Tell me!Right now!)

Conclusion:Meh,its suggested by a fellow minecrafters.I guess it's useful on...killing mobs? This is a block.A block that cannot kill monster in touch but can SQUASH them.Still,it need mob step on the pressure plate to activicate.

Special Pressure Plate(As suggested by another fellow minecrafters)

A pressure plate that are more special. It does more skill then normal ones.It can make sand fall...with redstone..make tnt(Straight down)activicate in a radius of 5x5x5.Make block deconstruct or constructed when step.

Type:Constructing pressure plate(C.P.P).Demolition Pressure Plate(Aka Deconstruct,D.P.P),Big Radius Pressure Plate(5x5x5,B.R.P.P) and Redstone Pressure Plate(As mentioned it can activicate gravel or sand fall when stepped*PS:Need redstone,R.P.P)

Crafting:
C.P.P

[]  :|:  []
[]  :|:  []
:Iron:  :Iron:  :Iron:
D.P.P
[]  :GP:  []
[]  :GP:  []
:Iron:  :Iron:  :Iron:
B.R.P.P
[]  []  []
:Iron:  :Iron:  :Iron:
:Iron:  :Iron:  :Iron:

R.P.P( :Red: = redstone)
[]  []  []
:Red:  :Red:  :Red:
:Iron:  :Iron:  :Iron:

Rope
Another thing like redstone, needed to be activicated by Pressure Plate.

Crafting: :Skeleton: = Leather
[]  []  :Skeleton:
[]  :Skeleton:  []
:Skeleton:  []  []

Conclusion:Another thing like redstone.

Trapdoor(Suggested by another fellow minecrafters)

A door that function like pressure plate on a tnt,but it dont need pressure plate. It can be activicate by simply stepping on it.(The door will open)(By mobs, animals and players)

Crafting:
[]  :Logs^:  :Logs^:
[]  :Logs^:  :Logs^:
[]  :Logs^:  :Logs^:
(A better crafting suggestion?Leave feedback!)

Conclusion:Suggested by a fellow minecrafters.

Hanging Rope
An idea suggested by a fellow minecrafters.A rope can be hanged on ceillings, which allowing you to activicate the 1 Ton.

Crafting: :GoldBar: = Rope
:cobblestone:  :cobblestone:  :cobblestone:
:cobblestone:  :GoldBar:
:cobblestone:  :cobblestone:  :cobblestone:

Conclusion:A really fine idea eh.

Land Mine
Hey,i know tnt work same as mine. But mine can be only placed by 2 blocks depth. And it dont need pressure plate to activicate. :Pig: ,and also,it explodes when an animal/mobs/human if they step in the radius of:
:Coal: = Mine
:Notch:  []  []  []  :SSSS:
:soil:  :soil:  :soil:  :soil:  :soil:
:soil:  :soil:  :Coal:  :soil:  :soil:
:soil:  :soil:  :soil:  :soil:  :soil:
:Notch:  []  []  []  :Skeleton:

Crafting:
:Coal:  :Coal:  :Coal:
:GP:  :GP:  :GP:
:Coal:  :Coal:  :Coal:
(Hey!Don't be shy!Leave a feedback for a better crafting!I really had no idea!!)

Conclusion:Only cruel minecrafters use these.

Naval Mine
It does the same thing as Land Mine, but instead it only planted in water(For killing sea monsters?)

Crafting:
:Logs^:  :Logs^:  :Logs^:
:GP:  :GP:  :GP:
  :Logs^:  :Logs^:  :Logs^:

(Actually you can still tell me a better suggestion. But someone suggested this)

Conclusion:Sea monsters are cruel!Let them explode!!!(Eh?)

Turret*(Actually someone said auto-gun,but i prefer this name.)
Defensive structure attacks any mob(They can hurt players if the player step between it and monster)that they can see(they can't see through glassess and block etc).Dealt a massive demage a second because of the scary speed of it.Though reloading it is a pain(you need to insert magazine, which is a huge pain to make). You can reload it by simply using the magazine and press right mouse.

Special:(Im inserting this from now if somethings must be controlled because it is overpowered or something else)It have recoil, and cooldown(FOR NOT OVERPOWERING)Cooling down is 15 second for 30 bullets(A magazine have 100 bullets).Recoiling cause it to shoot higher(You can control the recoil by using it manually by pressing right mouse and you can ride it.).Demage depending on bullet type.

Crafting:
[]  :Iron:  :Iron:
:Iron:  :GP:  :Iron:
[]  :Iron:  :Iron:

Sorry guys,i don't wanna write a conclusion anymore.

Bullet
Have many types of it:Normal bullet.(Currently im having some issue about more type of bullets)

Crafting:
Normal bullet
[]  []  []
:Iron:  :GP:  :GoldBar:
[]  []  []

Magazine
You need it to activicate your turret.

Crafting:  :Orange: = Anytype of bullets
[]  []  []
:Orange:  :Orange:  :Orange:
[]  []  []

Trapdoors(EVERYONE is calling me to add this.Lol)
A door that can be activicated from outside, causing them to fell to their death or trapped inside room of doom

Crafting:
:Logs^:  :Logs^:  []
:Logs^:  :Logs^:  []
:Logs^:  :Logs^:  []

Thats all for now, remember to leave feedback!!

I don't think traps themselves should be craftable, that takes away from making traps from the world. I think there should be more trap elements though, like floodgates to make a lava drop, maybe a craftable spike block to make fall traps. But I don't think automated mechanisms themselves should be crafted.

But hey,all of these trap is effected by gravity, means they fall. You can still make your own trap, although the old school trap like tnt trap...tnt arrow trap is very effective.I dont think much these thing count as trap(My suggestion) but as a trap materials other then tnt, cactus, lava, drowning.Spikes are too useful when mining, they keep creepers away before they BLOW up you.Anyhow, spikes or fire sprayer can also make pitfall trap but using different materials that dont kill loot's.Still, you can make the trap or never craft them.

I half agree. I prefer make-shift traps myself, and there could be some crafting for that:

[]  []  []
[]  []  []
:Logs^:  :Logs^:  :Logs^:

That would make a trapdoor, which i would use a lot.

  []  :Spider:  []
:Spider:  :Spider:  :Spider:
:Spider:  :Spider:  :Spider:   :Spider:  = String

Makes a net. Could be some fun. ^_^

And finally:

Bookshelf door! Idk why that would be here, but it would be fun! ^_^ (btw, the log is a door)

Actually, I'd like to place some mechanical traps, much like what you were saying about floodgates, like drawbridges, or something to cover your path, or even set up step-pads that would drop something on them, or drop a floor underneath them; like make the 'spike-blocks' idea, and make them affected by gravity.  Monster steps on pad, roof opens, spike blocks drop on them.  It could be used for other means besides traps; like working secret doors and such inside buildings.

As you guys can design your own trap using these materials.Although it can be fully mechanical,or activicated by player or mob. They're effected by gravity that means you can suffocate?Aye.

I disagree.  Other than landmine (which is a single-use and permanent damage trap-type) bouncing betties, arrow-type mines, or water-flowing-torch fall/ceiling traps (which aren't all that effective without someone hitting a 'keystone), you don't have real 'traps.'  Nothing that's mechanically complex and/or is reusable after it's expended.  I'm not saying dart-wall traps and such, but it'd be nice to have retractable floors to cut off pursuit, or maybe a switch I can hit to drop a 1-ton block on their head.  B)

What I would like to see is three things:

Doors, when opened, let through water.
Trapdoors, which would just be floor-doors.
A block which falls/deconstructs when activated by redstone.

These have all been suggested in various threads, and they're amazing ideas. I don't like the idea of having a whole bunch of premade traps.

Pretty much all I've been saying.

I mean, making 'pressure traps,' like something that would shoot flames or arrows would be pretty simple; the only requirement being that lava would have to flow somewhere near it (easily constructed) in order for there to be heat for the pressure.  I'm not saying 'premade kits,' I'm saying what you said.  Being able to do things like that would 'cut off the path' for monsters that are following you.

Nice idea, there's been alot of thought put into this
but in don't want minecraft to be like too evil like, different types of killing and trapping stuff :/ maybe good for a mod though

I like your idea and would love to see it added to the game but what it really needs more of are means of activating the traps (by the way do traps last one use or have a life bar) i'm thinking something as simple as a hanging rope device, made using your rope it will be a straight line that hangs from a block, when the rope is touched or exposed to redstone current the block gains gravity(or activates if its tnt) or maybe even a remote detonator block(which seems a little optimistic) my favorite trap idea would have to be an arrow gun, a placable block that looks like normal stone with a small black spot, it functions like a chest, you place arrows inside (this determines the boxes uses) when triggered it would fire a non retrievable arrow similar to skeletons. sound cool?

Some premade trapeze would be a good idea. Three should be more says to activate them, like special pressure plates or trip wires. A movement impairing trap would be nice and can be used in conjunction with things like lava traps. Also false blocks so you could make a pitfall that looks like natural dirt or stone that would break when stepped on. Trap doors would be nice too. I've been trying to find ways of making oyrne.

I still think traps should be crafted in the world and not on a crafting table. You make parts in the crafting table, and you set it up in the world the same way you set up redstone circuits. To attach a rope, you right click the rope on one block to another, and maybe have pulley blocks that are placed like ladders and allow you to make complex arrangements of ropes.

Spiders are pretty big, and you should have to construct a big enough trap to catch one, maybe a net instead of a bucket, that way you can keep expanding it to be as big as you need.

I like the idea of lures, but I think they have to pull monsters only when they cannot sense the player or other target. That way, you can't drop a lure as you're running.

You would still have to set up the traps, it would just give you more options when doing it, like pitfalls or arrow traps. Possibly the arrow traps have unlimited durability, but cost arrows which you could load into like a furnace. It would go well with special arrows which are mentioned in other posts. (You should check it out)

Yeah, you're right. I got caught up in the schematic for the lure bucket because I was thinking the lure and bucket should be separate blocks you place. Anyway, I support the idea.

For the lures there should be different lures for different creatures. Cows and pigs wouldn't really be attracted by meat, but zombies and maybe creepers would. Perhaps you could put up different lures for each mob type. wheat for cows, chickens, pigs and sheep, meat for zombies, spiders and creepers, and something else for skeletons (Since they are ranged you wouldn't really want them shooting at you from your trap).

I like the concepts for a few of your ideas, but I think they need to be streamlined into the game a bit more.
Spike-blocks and fire-blocks would be awesome, but you could just have them activate when turned on by redstone or a switch/pressure pad.  Puting a fire/spike block under a pressure pad would cause it to activate and shoot through the step above it.

{SMILIES_PATH}/flintnsteel.png  = Fire block
:_:  = Pressure Pad (Wood would burn, Iron would not)

[]  :_:  []
:Diamond:  {SMILIES_PATH}/flintnsteel.png  :SSSS:
:SSSS:  :soil:  :soil:

Because the three blocks on the E, S, W side of the trap are solid, they would halt the effect.  The fire would effect the square above it as long as the pressure pad was activated.  Same with spikes, but they could just go through wood rather than destroying it.

Also, no bleed damage.  :P  Nothing else in the game causes a bleed type effect, neither should spikes.  Being caught on fire, ok.  DOT damage there, for sure.  Drowning?  Sure.  Until you breathe, you lose life.  But leave it there.  (Maybe poison.)
As for blueprint plans and such, it doesn't need to be that complicated.  Just come up with a series of trap blocks that activate with the already in-game redstone mechanics, and you're golden.
