Ok. So, you spawn on this barren land surrounded by these green shits. There are no ores, just bedrock. But there is hope, and it might be quite obvious to some.

Finding wood, getting coal:
On these barren plains are NPC villages. They still spawn in Superflat. To get wood, just steal some off the farm or house trims. Then, when you get enough stone (make a wooden pick) then mine a lot of cobblestone. Then craft a Furnace, and burn logs into Charcoal.

Getting some food:

It's quite easy. Just harvest some wheat from the NPC farms, or find them in chest.

Finding some stuff:

In every NPC village, there might be a chest. Chest are in Blacksmiths. Inside a chest (this is all I know) is:

Diamond
Iron Boots
Iron Leggings
Iron Chestplate
Iron Helmet
Iron Ingot(s)
Obsidian
Apples
Saplings
Iron Sword
Iron Pickaxe
Bread

Getting these can bring you to the Nether. You can get lots of materials to settle in the Overworld safely. Make a nice netherack base (or netherack brick, whatever you want) and make a tree farm and flourish. Getting water is from wells in NPC villages. This might not be the best guide, but I made it. Hope you enjoyed!

why would you need to craft a furnace? the blacksmith building already has 2 of them.

Still a nice fine idea though. How about some achievements? like the Minecraft Survival map has.

you could: build a mob tower, build an EXP grinder, make a farm, possibly create an ocean or a lake, maybe even build part of a map with mountains, etc...

I might try this out, could be interesting.

Have an animal farm

Make a two story house (of any material except dirt)

Go to the Nether

Slimes spawn everywhere, so move at night. That's what I do, at least. And keep moving! The only slimes you really need to worry about is the biggest ones.

Besides ripping NPC villages apart, is there any other way?

yeah, if you keep moving and find animals often enough.

main issue is the lack of wood. Limit on what you can do.

could probably build some mob traps and an Egg/Chicken farm, but not much beyond that.

glass is the only thing you are going to have trouble with, you will need the silk touch enchantment to get those, and even then you are still limited by how much glass you locate in the world.

Also, if you manage to find a sapling in a village chest, then you won't need to destroy the village for the wood. If you manage a bucket you will also be able to build a cobblestone generator.

first village i found, had nothing of any use, no blacksmith at all, then a whole lot of bigslimes ganged up on me and i was dead.

second village i found after respawning, had a blacksmith with a chest that contained: 2x bread, 1x apple (normal), 1x iron chest, 1x iron helmet, 1x iron pants, and 1 x diamond.

I swear, this will take a long time, just think of the number of villages you will have to find and raid before you even have the essentials :)

I'm already thriving on the flatland. I got a big mansion. Surronded by a lava moat.
Maybe you should try to put a lava moat around your house, so you won't need to deal with them? Lol.

It isnt very detailed, but hey, usually, the simplest guides are the best ones!
