not that hard. its a normal minecraft map with a flat surface.  you might as well say "do this" for a normally generated map.

I'll attempt it but I doubt I will finish it.  Here are my initial thoughts on the list:

1. Collect 64 slimeballs.

Easy, just kill some slimes.

2. Make an iron sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel and hoe.

Find lots of village chests and pillage them for their iron.

3. Bake bread.

Easy, harvest some wheat from a village.

4. Craft 64 torches.

Find sufficient amounts of coal from village chests.

5. Find obsidian.

Solution 1) Leverage the village wells by a bucket or other means, pouring the water onto the smithy's lava.  Thus obsidian.  (Does this count as 'finding'?

Solution 2) Find obsidian in village chests.

6. Craft a golden apple.

Find a golden ingot in village chests or kill pigmen in the nether.  Find an apple or Oak sapling in a village chest.

7. Travel to the nether.

See #5.  Remember to pour the lava into a mold that would make a nether portal.  (Unless you happen upon diamonds)

Gather the flint from the village pathways, gather the iron from the chests.

8. Gather 16 Enderpearls.

Kill Enderman.  Not too hard.

9. Make a fireplace with netherrack.

Finishing #7 effectively finishes this challenge, all you need to do is remember to bring some back.

10. Brew a potion of regeneration.

Slay a couple Ghasts, find a blaze spawner, kill a couple blazes, find a netherwart patch, then brew it all up back home.

11. Enchant a bow with "Infinity"

Simple enough, just craft an enchantment table.  You can harvest the village's bookcases to boost your table's levels.  Kill slimes for XP.

12. Throw a splash potion of poison at a spider, killing it.

This challenge is impossible.  To quote the MC Wiki:  "Spiders are unaffected by Splash Potions of Poison."

13. Gather 64 Soul Sand

Gather some Soul Sand during your Nether trip.

14. Light your base with Glowstone.

Gather some Glowstone during your nether trip.

15. Build a base in the nether.

Bring some cobblestone to the nether, build it up around your portal.

16. Make an animal farm.

Lure the animals to your farm using wheat.  Not hard.

17. Craft a full set of iron armor.

Find iron in village chests.

18. Craft mushroom stew.

Bring some mushrooms from the Nether.

19. Find a nether fortress.

#10 addresses this.  Blazes only spawn in Nether Fortresses.

20. Craft a diamond block.

Find diamonds from village chests.

I'm doing the challenge right now and have gathered basic supplies (wood, stone, food and tools) and am bouncing from town searching for loot.

Looks awesome! I will definitely try it! Unfortunately, NPC villages can sometimes be VERY uncommon in Superflat, but that's one of the things that makes this challenge a challenge, right?

Nice!

I'm giving something similar a go on my YT channel, http://youtube.com/welshpixie . It won't be hardcore, cuz I'm a noob, and I probably won't stick steadfast to the above challenges - I'll just see how far I can get in a survival flatworld.

Yay for new survival challenges ^.^

The secret to this challenge is to find loot in the forges located in the NPC villages without them it's impossible.

I looked through 2 whole NPC villages and found no "chests", are you sure about them or am I just being unlucky?

Edit: Nevermind, found a single chest.

This is a interesting challange, but probably easier on a flat map, and since villages sometimes have chests and you can pillage for wood that makes it easy. :D

Remember chests only appear in forges.
