Ever since Notch added in animal breeding, I've been wanting to build a barn that's both functional and fun looking. This is the result. It's heavily inspired by a barn at a State Park near me. They had a petting zoo/farm on the premises that looked a lot like this, but with darker planks. Shortly off in the distance behind it was a horse pen as well, but Minecraft Doesn't have any horses without modding.

There is more than just the barn on this map by now. But I have a downloadable version available with elements of adventure included. Send pics, let me know if you find all the enchanted items (there are six total), etc. Have fun with it. Heck, blow stuff up, and post the results. ;)

Here's a couple interior shots. I haven't completely furnished it just yet.

It has the classic loft too.

Well done. I'd rate this as 4.5/10 Stars. 4.5/5 Stars

Edit: Sorry, messed up the rating the first time, lol.

I even get a few visitors from time to time. Just like the petting zoo/farm at Maybury.

Here, a nearby villager comes calling. You can even see his house off in the distance.

But of course you have to be mindful of the vandals.

No?! Just gonna let the pig take care of it? Okay, if that's what you want...

...you bum. What good's a farm dog, if he doesn't help protect the farm?

I switched to 11w50a a while back. And that area is right at the intersection of a few biomes. And with the patch update, the taiga biome has snow again. And also, that villager actually found his way inside the barn. So I'm counting him as a farm-hand now.

I will give hints as requests accumulate for them. I'm already pretty sure the enchanted diamond sword will be tougher to find than I intended.

I haven't heard back from anyone who's tried the download. I wouldn't mind some constructive feedback about it.

Allowing the animals to be inside or out is a nice touch. I just encased mine in a fence inside a building so they absolutely couldn't escape.

Is the barn also your house? The animal noises drove me crazy when I made my barn and lived in the loft, I was forced to move out. Interestingly we used the same roofing materials.

Spoiler:

When no one was looking, the Endermen took forty blocks.
They took 40 blocks. That’s as many as four tens. And that’s horrible.

I actually lived in the blacksmith's shop. The barn was just fun to visit.

That IS a cool barn you made. It looks far more like the traditional barn people think of. It looks good. And yes, I think the animal sounds would drive me crazy.
