If you use this method to edit maps/import builds, please give credit! Or at least +1 rep. that would be nice. Thank you :D

iDevices

Android Stuff down at the bottom.

Windows/Mac

Prerequisites:
Download & install iExplorer from here.
Download & install the latest dev. build of MCEdit from here.

Step 1:
Retrieve your world!

Navigate, using iExplorer, to:

Apps -> com.mojang.minecraftpe -> Documents -> games -> com.mojang -> minecraftWorlds -> <worldname>

Copy the level.dat into a folder you can access on your computer with MCEdit.

Step 2:
Edit to your heart's desire!

Run MCEdit and open the level.dat you copied over. (Pretty easy, eh?)

Step 3:
Putting your world back in shape!

Navigate again, using iExplorer, to:

Apps -> com.mojang.minecraftpe -> Documents -> games -> com.mojang -> minecraftWorlds -> <worldname>

Copy the level.dat that you MCEdited into the world folder, and accept any warnings etc. that pop up.

Step 4:
Play!

Run MC:PE on your iDevice! Profit??

Linux/Ubuntu

Prerequisites:
A linux distro with some form of iDevice recognition, if not default, try libmobiledevice
Download & install the latest dev. build of MCEdit from here.

Step 1:
Retrieve your world!

The MinecraftPE app folder will be a hidden folder so make sure you show hidden folder/files.

Navigate, using Nautilus/Any libmobiledevice compatible file browser, to:

Documents on <iDeviceName> -> MinecraftPE (Might even have the icon!) -> Documents -> games -> com.mojang -> minecraftWorlds -> <worldname>

Copy the level.dat into a folder you can access on your computer with MCEdit.

Step 2:
Edit to your heart's desire!

Run MCEdit and open the level.dat you copied over. (Pretty easy, eh?)

Posted Image You can do this for example.

Step 3:
Putting your world back in shape!

Navigate back to:

Documents on <iDeviceName> -> MinecraftPE (Might even have the icon!) -> Documents -> games -> com.mojang -> minecraftWorlds -> <worldname>

Copy the level.dat that you MCEdited into the world folder, and accept any warnings etc. that pop up.

Step 4:
Play!

Run MC:PE on your iDevice. Show your geeky friends how pro you are at building!

Mine does load, but it just shows Steve's head inside a Mob Spawner. I use Android btw and used level.dat as world file.

Nevermind got it working now!  :iapprove:

It has worked so far for me, maybe be sure that where your player is isn't inside blocks because your player will stay where they were when you generated the world.

Does it make Creepers appear in your worlds? What is so good about this? Get bugged blocks?

You can import your builds from your computer into your Mobile worlds, or you can use it to amaze your friends, by importing a massive mansion. Its pretty much utilitarian, its more for those hardcore minecrafters who like to have their builds with them all the time! :P

I have the latest build of MCedit and i'm trying to make a custom map I need to start it flat and build it up from there, but when I port it back onto my android and attempt to load it, the game hangs on "Generating world - Preparing" any idea what causes this and a solution?

try to modify less of the map. (do a little bit at a time and load it up on your phone. That did the trick for me)

Ah, that could explain it. The first time it worked I was just re-arranging somethings. Patience is key, cheers =)
