About Improved Default
Are you one of those people that arnt really interested by those HD texture packs?
Are you used to the default texture and feel out of place when you install a different one?
Do you just LOVE the original feel of minecraft?

Then this is the texture pack for YOU!


The Features

• Pumpkin face removed
  
• Glass improved, less intrusive
  
• Cactus more yellow
  
• Removed grey spots on the dirt
  
• Longer sides of grass and snow
  
• Less green sugarcane
  
• Yellow flowers slightly darker
  
• Gravel slightly less intrusive
  
• Frostier ice
  
• Porkchops slightly darker
  
• Melons and Melon slices are more green
  
• Glistering melon has sparkle particles
  
• Slightly smoother cobblestone and mossy cobble

• Removed dark pixels on all wooden blocks

How do i install it?
Drag the .zip file into the minecraft texture pack folder.
Its that simple!

You edited the wrong grass file :/ edit the one thats grey not the one on the block or just do both....

No the op needs to edit a block on the terrain.png to fix that otherwise it ends up looking sloppy.

So, I wanted to give you some honest feedback. While I do believe people should create the texture pack they want, I also believe every pack everyone creates should not be posted. That being said, "Better Than Default" packs have been seriously overdone, and I grow weary of seeing them take up space. It is also my personal belief that most people seeking texture packs are doing so to get a different look for Minecraft.

My advice to you would be to try something completely different, perhaps work to a theme. It appears that you have some skill, but that is also hard to judge when you aren't creating textures from scratch.

Other than that, you have a few nice fixes to the default textures, and overall it seems to improve the default; however, if I were to download and use a texture pack like this, it would kinda be the luck of the draw since about three of these pop up everyday.

And yes after i posted this i found out that i missed an image that had to be edited on the file, the next update which will hopefuly be today will have it fixed

Thanks for your opinion, ill start by saying i didnt really want to use any of the other better than default texture packs because they always had bad points to them so i set out to make my own improved default texture.
Mine isnt one of those better than defaults either, im not claiming it to be better, im just improving what i think needs to be improved.
After that, i thought id share it with everyone seeing as i was happy with what i had produced and thought everyone who enjoyed the default would enjoy this just a little more.
I was thinking about making a themed texture from scratch, but decided i would never use it, because i actually kinda dont like texture packs, im just so used to the default, but i just hated the few little things that i have fixed up.

Fair enough. I still think you have potential to create a texture pack that isn't so close to default. Give it a shot! You might surprise yourself.
