Hello. I am having trouble joining a server to play some Minecraft. I have the ip entered correctly and all that jazz. I'm not sure if it's because their isn't a port. The server host told me to try a port which didn't work. If I try to go ahead and connect it tells me failed to connect because of "Unknown host". I hope someone can help me with this problem.

What is the IP:Port? Also, if you have their website, write the link. I just need the IP, port, and optional website to figure your problem out. Also, make sure Minecraft is allowed through your firewall, and you're using the up to date, payed version of Minecraft.

Thanks for the reply. I'll tell you what I know. IP = 184.108.40.206. Like I said they have no port. When I asked a server admin what the port was he said, "try 21". So I tried 220.127.116.11:21. still no result. If you aren't busy I beg you to try either with or without the port. If you can connect then we'll know there is a problem on my end. If you can't then it's their end, and I shouldn't worry, and look for a new clan. Once again thanks for the help thus far.

Make sure the IP is right and the default port is :25565. Else the server doesn't exist or there's something wrong with your network configuration.

Well thanks for the help. I'm just going to assume the server doesn't exist. I know it isn't on my end. Once again thanks for your help. An admin can go ahead and close this thread.
