This texturepack has been created in the default 16x16 texture resolution and is a response to this thread:

The goal of this texturepack is to go back to that distinctive alpha look for Minecraft.
In effect it will change the biomes back to the alpha look, when there weren't any biomes.
All old textures have been reintegrated into the pack from the alpha version 1.014.

The swamps still pose a problem in Minecraft v1.0.0, as a result I've made this texturepack
compatible with the "Better Swamps" mod.

Birch trees, Swamp trees and pine trees still have a darker tint, but overall the grass and foliage
colors will remain like they were in the alpha version of Minecraft. Because of this, I've left the
related treetrunks as they are in v1.0.0

v1.0 changed textures:

• Added a Crafty alpha logo
  
• Changed the foliagecolor.png, grasscolor.png and watercolor.png to white, with the grasscolor
  having the two pixels in the top right corner to make it compatible with the better swamp mod
  
• Changed all the related textures back to their alpha texture, based on Alpha v1.014
  
• Changed the moon_phases.png to just show a full moon only, like it was back in alpha.

this texture pack reminds me of alpha so much. I think alot of minecrafters will like this texture pack if they bought the game in alpha. Good job

Kinda funny actually as I'm about to release my other pack as well. Which is trying to stay true to the alpha look, but smooth it out some and add a bit more detail. Now I've got two packs that completely try to do the opposite thing

I merely changed the color grading png's and recolored the grass and foliage. Everything else is in there. It simply adds the alpha look to v1.0.0 by removing the biome colors (except for swamps)


Glad to see it's being appreciated, it isn't a true texture pack though, took me a few minutes to get the info and change the stuff
