Askaholic's Minecraft Mod for Minecraft 1.0.0

Mod Description

Background and Inspiration
[indent]When I first started playing minecraft, I had great ambitions to keep mining,[/indent] and keep upgrading my tools. I got some advice from my friends and quickly fell in love with the game. Then I heard about obsidian, and how tough and blast resistant it was. I knew then that I had to mine it for my tools, so that they too would never break. Little did I know that this was impossible. When my friends brought me this grave news, I was so disappointed I could have cried. I went on the wiki to check that my friends weren't trolling me, and sure enough, nowhere did I find information on obsidian tools. I did however find something called a dispenser which "dispenses random items" and "shoots arrows placed in its inventory at mobs." I knew I had to make this. So I gathered the resources and made a dispenser, only to be disappointed yet again. This box did not magically give me random items, nor did it fire at nearby mobs when I triggered it!
[indent]This is the main inspiration for me making this mod. Along with trying out[/indent] my Java skills in a fun way. Please remember that I am very open to suggestions and any texturing help I can get. If you like this mod, or feel that I should change something, please leave a comment below.

Modding Info

[indent]This Mod does not require modloader or any other mod, and probably will not[/indent] work with other mods. However, TMI does work, but is not recommended.
[indent]This mod does not have any specific theme, but adds elements to the game[/indent] that I feel are missing. I will keep each iteration of this mod up for download and feedback on each one is appreciated.

Installation

To install, simply drag all of the mod files into your minecraft.jar. Make sure to delete META-INF at some point, or it won't work! Please enjoy!

Version 1:
[indent]This version is fairly bug free, but is missing textures. Help on textures is [/indent]welcome as I don't have a pixeling program that works.
[indent]This version adds full unbreaking obsidian tools (with messed up textures, bear with me).[/indent] You can craft Obsidian Microblade arrows that (due to missing texture) look like white rectangular prisms when they shoot. Microblade arrows are always shot from your bow before normal arrows, unless no obsidian arrows are found in your inventory. Also workbenches are mined faster using axes. Quivers are craftable and can keep track of an arrow number variable. They haven't been fully implemented yet, but will be able to store 100 (give suggestions please) arrows that will be reflected on the quiver's durability bar.

Version 2:[indent]+ Added mining tool (still buggy)
* Changed dispensers to dispense random items when empty.[/indent]
Version 3:[indent]* Fixed mining tool (still a little buggy)
* Fixed dispensers, so they don't dispense illegal items, like fire, door halves,[/indent] redstone ore, and bedrock.

* Fixed glowstone torches having an incorrect light value
* Dispensers now dispense items as well as blocks[/indent]

Thanks for all the comments! Its my first time posting, and I'm not quite sure what the expectations are yet. I just started this mod today (on the plane ride) but don't worry it will be updated soon.

This dispenser thingy isn't a good idea, because you can get deamonds even if you dont have iron pick. Make a seperate block, like a ipgraded dispenser for the random spawning of items. It's recipe can be a dispenser in the center and d. blocks around it or something like that.

Ok, I added a super dispenser that you craft with a dispenser and 8 diamonds. Also I started getting the stuff I added out of Minecrafts classes, so it will be more compatible with other mods. So this mod no longer edits either the block.java or the items.java

So i was extremely exited to see a good mod that did not require mod loader with almost no hesitation i donwloaded it and stared to drag and drop all the files into the minecraft .jar. But after that, i just get black screen. Looks like an amazing mod, please help me so I can play it.

Did you delete META-INF? And I do believe it requires modloader.

Bad idea
obsidian tools are overpowerd andd the super dispenser? You can get ANYTHING out of it.
Even diamond armour or blocks.

Thanks for the support! You can get to your minecraft.jar by (on windows) going to your start bar > run and type %appdata%. then go into: .minecraft > bin > minecraft.jar

Did you delete your META-INF folder (inside of minecraft.jar)? Also it will not work with modloader, because both modloader and this mod edit the slotcrafting class for achievements.

I can easily restrict the items that the dispenser will spit out. If you have suggestions on what should be limited please tell me. Also I can make it more difficult to get.

Actually i will also remove the achievement which will make it compatible with modloader for the lamoes who use it.

This mod doesn't even seem to be compatable with TooManyItems? Yes i have Deleted META-INF. I installed TMI, then this. black screen. tried it the other way round, black screen. Yes it is a fresh minecraft.jar.

Have you read the title? Its for 1.0.0 not 1.1
