Soo, I'm about to buy minecraft. I've played it since 1.1 without paying, and I thought thats enough. I'm gonna just support Mojang for such hard work and buy the game. But actually many of my friends ask why I'm buying because paid version gives nothing. But I think that's not true. What possibilities does paid minecraft unlock and how it is different from illegal one? :iapprove:

The best servers (and just a ton of them in general) don't allow cracked accounts to join, also you get updates instantly instead of waiting for cracked releases.

That and so Notch can spend some more money in Monaco's casino's, its Xmas after all so be nice :iapprove:

Most illegal versions don't have Multiplayer. Also, it removes the annoying words at the corner saying "This is an uncopyrighted version". I recommend you pay for the new version.

The only thing it adds is multiplayer support skins, and playing in-browser.

Not flaming, but I think it is sick for someone to confess to playing so long without paying, and then ask us what is the difference.

I hae had it since the good old days in classic, i recomed buying it! It is alot better playing and talking with people who have experiance and what I mean by experiance is non-cracked/hacked players AND also you get to customise your character to show off to the rest of the world!

p.s. you don't get the unregistered copy at the top right (you have that if you havent payed, right?)

With a paid account (which I will buy if I don't get a code for Christmas), you can play multiplayer, change your skin, and know that you have helped out Mojang.

Yea, I would think so too, but fact is that I couldn't buy it, we tried to buy with credit card and it always was being canceled. Now we have new one and I think that now I'm definetly buying. Btw, I'm paying right now.. lol :iapprove:

You get updates, and you will never crash.

Cracked versions crash, and are outdated as crap.

I was about to buy it, but then thanks to my little brother, my family is in a financial crisis T...T. So I was like, "Sorry Mojang, I'll have to turn back to my cracked client". I am trying to earn money online, though.

Anyways, on-topic, bought it yet? :D

I'm not supporting cracked versions at all but people need to get a grip or at least some information about the cracked
versions out there:

Quoting Tim Minchin: "That is absolute bullshit". Cracked versions of Minecraft does Auto-update from the same servers.
It does NOT crash more frequently AT all. Besides the "legal" Minecraft is NOT crash free, thank you very much.

Too answer the OP's question what the difference is between the two versions:

+ Skins.
+ "Online Mode" servers.

+ Cracked lets the user have "unlimited" user-names in-game.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand that is it.
And yes, yes if you like it you should buy it. It's not expensive for the amount of joy you receive and it will support future development from Team Mojang.
