I bought a Walmart Moneycard prepaid "Debit Visa", am I able to buy Minecraft using this method? Or do I have to put it in paypal? If so how do I do it?

EDIT: I've gotten the card activated, added it to paypal, and tried to buy it using Paypal and this is what happened:



EDIT2: I tried the Visa way instead, and now it friggin locked my darn card for 24 hours? Really? WTF? How hard is this supposed to be!?!?

I believe so. If you cannot find the option on the website try contacting Mojang.

By contact do you mean by phone or email? The Minecraft website is loading very slow for me :/ I bet it's probably the server or something...

well you could try using the pre paid debit card but i would use pay pal. i think it would work. i wouldn't know if it would work cause i didn't buy minecraft with a pre paid card

What button(s) do I click for Paypal?? I can only see Bank Account or Moneypak but nothing like debit

i used to be able to add those cards to credit cards in paypal under my profile add/edit credit cards
but i recently tried to use one and it wouldnt add, i think they changed the policy in paypal and dont accept preloaded cards

Alright. I didn't have to even use paypal when I bought it I just entered the card number information like you would a credit card. Just selected Visa and entered the card information. (Also, you activated the card on the website right?)

Oh, I didn't activate the card, I think that's the problem. But activating it requires my social security # and that sounds like something they'll bite me with if I enter it... Oh well I don't want to waste the money I spent into it

Yeah I was worried about that too. If you read the fine print of the card it says you must be 16 years or older to use it I think? IF you are under this age have someone activate it for you like your parents or someone. (I'm 14 so my dad helped me with it, so the card is under his name but I use it sometimes)

Thanks, I activated it and I added it into Paypal, but Minecraft won't accept it for some reason?

EDIT: I just checked, it seems like it was added to Paypal but it shows up as $0 for my balance.... what happened?

It's okay, atleast I was able to add a card into paypal.. If I could do that how come Minecraft still wouldn't accept my card? D:

As I said earlier, I never added the card to paypal just entered the card number directly under Visa. When your at the buy screen of minecraft it shows all the brands for method of purchase right? Try selecting Visa instead of paypal maybe that might work.

Thanks, but right now I'm wondering how I am able to use it... On Paypal I've added my card, but when I click on "overview" it says "0.00 USD" and Minecraft keeps telling me my transactions failed..

I'm afraid I have no experience with prepaid cards, but try Walmart's page:

There's something about applying Moneypak there.

On the subject of Paypal, a prepaid credit card is supposed to behave like a regular credit card, right? In which case it wouldn't show a balance.

About Minecraft.net, there seems to be something wrong with the site right now. Lots of others are having similar problems, so this may be the reason your transaction isn't going through.

I tried to buy mine craft last year with a walmart visa gift card and it would not let me.

But mine isn't a gift card And it's still locked right now... Does anyone know how to contact Merchant/Mojang to lift my lock?
