Just a suggestion but you could make mod spotlights or install a few mods? Like Plasma Craft,Laser Mod.?

I thought the faithful pack was very nice looking, as it didn't do anything except enhance the look of the original minecraft stuff.

To each his own, but for me it really detracted form the overall experience. To me, the textures just looked fuzzy and weird :(

i just saw Lets Play version 2 episode 1,2,3 it seems your always running out of cobblestone for building, something should be done about this. I'm following along, all the same mods and the same map seed and spawn point, i was running into the cobblestone problem as well, problem fixed. A cobblestone generator with two blockbreakers and a timer with a switch dumping all the cobblestone i ever need into two Large chests. enjoy your cobble everyone!

I find that the infinite cobble gens feel 'cheap', especially working in tandem with EE. Once direwolf gets his quarries set up, he wont have any issues from not having enough cobble :)

Several people suggested a cobble generator :). I personally don't like using them. Don't ask me why, but I don't :).

Don't worry though, once I get a quarry going, I'll be swimming in cobble.

Awesome to see you doing another series, loved all of your mod spotlights and your previous LPs. One tip I did want to pass along, though, because I'm not sure if you'll see them in the comments of your Youtube videos...you seem to occasionally run into rubber problems with all of the machines that you build, and it would appear that RP2 and IC now play nicely in another fashion. Go find one of those massive rubberwood trees that RP2 puts into the world, chop the thing down, and dump the rubberwood into an extractor...RP2 rubberwood extracts to IC2 rubber! Better yet, fire a fully charged destruction catalyst up at a few and dump the several stacks of rubberwood that you get into an army of extractors, and never worry about running low on rubber or having to wait for resin spawns from a rubber tree farm again.

Yeah, I'm waiting for it to finish now. And yes, the rubberwood does work in the advanced machines too, I've already tested it out, lol.

I used to hate those trees, now I love them.

I'm so used to summerfields now that the default textures look out of place, but only when I'm playing. When I'm just watching a LP, I barely even notice any texture differences at all, default or otherwise. No idea what that's about.

Would you be willing to post this publicly? I'm having the same issue and would love to know a solution.

WARNING

If you have a Dark Matter pedestal with an active watch of flowing time
DEACTIVATE the Pedestal before you use either the portal gun or the portal spawner

if you do not deactivate the pedestal with the watch on it it will mess up your save file badly

as in the portal gun is no longer able to have more than 1 portal open and the spawner can no longer spawn portals

just thought i would let you guys know seeing as it happened to me

also if the pedestal with watch is active it renders the mining laser useless as its shots can go any where

hope it helps you avoid the mistake i made

Yep. Three redstone engines and gold pipes are plenty enough to serve up to two combustion engines safely. I really should finish my engine system vid, got a neat system for modular BC power and guaranteed no-explodey.
