GlassLight

This might have been done before but I couldn't find it so here goes...

What is GlassLight?

GlassLight is a mod that adds a block to the game that can provide light and looks like a coloured glass block. It can be turned on or off by right clicking on it or by redstone this is changeable in the config file.

The GlassLight mod now has an offical IRC channel! If you have questions or wish to follow the developement of the mod, join #GlassLight @ EsperNet!

IF you could change the lighting colors and the actual color of the light block itself that would be awesome I haven't seen a block that actually changes the color of the lighting as of yet for a lamp type mod.

redstone torches have a dim reddish hue to the light

I do not know of any lamp/light mod that could make a blue or green or hue to a light.

so... your light + green dye = green light block that casts a green glow

no idea on the difficulty of it so its just a suggestion if you are able to do it :)

and any mod that uses forge is always good i think since it does not take up your sprite indexes since those are limited.

Just my 2 cents

i just realised you meant that the light given off has a colour to it but actually it is that the redstone torch gives off less light than the torch so looks dimmer not red sorry so i dont think there is a way to make the light coloured but i will make different coloured glass lights

I think you may be right about this, the lady who made RP2 did something similar to your mod here and it seems the different colors she used on her lamps comes out as white also, so I am almost sure if she cant make different colors for her lights there is no way for that to be done..

She is also the creator of Forge also...
Need an error report go here.
If you have ID conflicts, find a free ID and change it manually in mc/config/name of mod.cfg most of the time. Or search your minecraft folder for the mod you will find a cgf file for that mod..

i found out that it is possible but you have to hack the lighting code and it is extremely complicated

I looked at the poll, and I want NEITHER of those, here is how I want it to be powered:

When the glass light is powered it's off, when the glass light is left isn't powered, it's on.

This is so I can put glass lights out for decoration, without needing to power them. I could also use redstone to turn them off, so they are still toggleable.

PS: the pics are broken.

The textures aren't very good, I can tell they're place holders for when you or someone else makes better ones, and I was expecting a different recipe, maybe glowstone dust surrounded by 4 glass panes? It makes sense to use glowstone, then surrounding it with a glass casing, other than stabbing a solid block of glass with a torch.
