I made a simple program that will skip the login for minecraft.
Skipping the login, will cause Minecraft to run in Offline Mode, But this software makes it possible for you to change the name from "Player" to anything you want!

Thank you so much for your support!
I've reached a total of 4200 downloads!

What's the point? You can't even see what your name is on single player.

In multiplayer servers that have OnlineMode as false you can go on (if you have internet), this is pretty much the same as Minecraft crack I have to say.

It's not for single player, it's for offline multiplayer. If you set your server's Online-Mode property to False, you can login using minecraft Offline mode.

In this mode, all players are named "Pleyer" :)

That is what the software will change :)

Theres already MinecraftSP / Mineshafter / Mineshafter Squared
MinecraftSP already have this feature , no need to make another mod similar to this.

What language is that? C#?

EDIT: Why are you using
"A" + '"' + "B"
instead of just
  • 1) You are on the internet.
  • 2) You are on minecraftforum.net.
  • 3) You are reading DiEvAl's sig.
  • 5) You didn't notice that there is no 4.
  • 6) You just checked it.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Pretty neat, too bad none of the servers I play are on offline mode. Screwing with people would be really funny with this. "NO! I'M THE REAL -whatever name-!!", "NO I AM!" lol.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time for when I'm not able to connect to minecraft.net - like tonight, I've had many problems getting logged in.
Unfortunately, I start the program, enter a name, click the 'Start Minecraft' button - nothing happens, the dialogue box won't go away, or start minecraft. Does the program have to be in a specific location ? Is there something elsse to do ? I unzippped all the files into a single folder and ran the custom name app. ?

Sorry for the month old bump, but I'm just wondering if you could compile this with both 2gb ram, and 4gb ram limits?

I tried copying the source and compiling, but I'm getting missing callout errors.  I would be very greatful if you or someone else reading this could post it.

i saw this and thought hmm i can make a run command to do the same
here it is you can either put this in run or in a .bat file
java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\lwjgl.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\lwjgl_util.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\jinput.jar" -Djava.library.path="%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft "username goes here"
put the name you want where the "user name goes here" is

and ive tried it and this works on the latest version of minecraft

I downloaded it and tried it.  It works great! Thanks a lot!  That solved my issues with trying to play on a server with my five year old brother who doesn't have an account.

This thread did not need to be revived.

Also, I wrote a new one in Python with more features :D (no annoying prompt windows, custom RAM)
