Great, I think Basic just stickied the thread and deleted the posts. Thanks a lot Basic (if it was you who did it)

@spartan, posts can only contain a certain amount of bbcodes, so the underline/ italics will always stop working after a certain point no matter what you do :P

Wow, that sucks =/

Well then, I guess I would have to find a work around for that... a lot of pictures maybe? Haha.

The topic loads really slowly for me; are pictures for every texture pack necessary? I think the links are sufficient enough... :Notch:

Well, we will optimize it this week, but like I posted earlier it will take time to go through hundreds of packs...

I don't think everyone would want to go through EVERY link just to see what it looks like.

Hmm...although I posted my texture pack in Lilyo's thread, I just now noticed that he never added it to the list. Perhaps you can amend it now?

Please refrain from posting texture packs, for we need to go through the existing ones and see what needs to go and what can stay. This will take up to several days of work depending on a lot things...

You'll have to temporarily remove:

Quote

To submit a texture pack, please use the following code. Do not PM me and do not use Photobucket.
Texture Pack Name:
Author Name:
What resolution?:
Thread Link:
Display Screenshot (Width must be 320): [img][/img]
IG Screenshots (all in one image):

To deter people from posting new packs.

Even then people will probably still post submissions. Why not let people submit and sort the new submissions out after organising and formatting the main posts?

We need to sort out the main posts then we will take submission and add them. We want to alphabetize the list, this should have been done a long time ago but alas we don't always get what we want.... Once reformatting the posts is done then the thread will be fully operational. Until then let's try to keep submissions to a minimal and this will go faster.

EDIT: My 200th post! =D

Thank you guys for taking over the thread. I know you guys are dedicated and will do a good job! :)

Having said that, I do have a concern. While alphabetizing makes sense for most things, I like that new packs can get a bit of recognition because of the way it's currently organized. I know that I personally tend to look at the top of the list because I know they are new packs (and yes my texture pack is a new pack as well), but I like to give my support (when deserved) to these packs. It's hard enough to get recognition in the texture pack forum. Half of the first page is usually filled with simple packs, x-ray packs, and packs that don't appear to have much effort put into them. It doesn't seem like most of those packs put in the effort to even get on this list. In my opinion, this list has been a place to help launch new packs, and that has a lot to do with how it's currently organized. I think that change if the list is alphabetized. Also, there is a potential that there will be an influx of new packs with A and B names, though I admit this is purely speculation.

I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just trying to express my concerns. What are your thoughts?

I disapprove for alphabetical order, I feel new packs could get a moment of fame on the top.

The thread needs organization, but maybe we will add a section at the top for new packs. Then we will move them down into the proper sections.

People aren't looking for packs based on their name, and having it alphabetized means that a few specific packs will pretty much always be at the top of the list no matter what.
People browse packs based on their popularity, visual appearance, and release date. As I've discussed it with Blaziken you still have to contact me before you want to do any sort of BIG changes to the list.

BTW, you still need to update the "index" sections cause they still link to my thread. PM me if you're unsure how to make them directly link to the specific sections without the page having to reload.

It would be great if you could add a link to the pack-related thread under each entry. So users could get new information about updates or giving feedback and support to the authors.
