Every time you PM me about a server IP, communism grows a little stronger.

So in an effort to curb excess OOC on the IC thread (link: http://www.minecraft...ical-role-play/) here is this. And based on how new and old members of the RP are picking quickly back up on old patterns, it'll be needed.

So gentlemen, perform all your OOC saber rattling here. As well as maybe getting together to discuss the plausibility of whatever the hell we're doing.

Role-Play Proposals
-None-

Passed Ideas:
Individual Play

Limits on faction swapping
Players are now expected to stick to one faction for a minimum time of one RP year before swapping for another. This period will be ample time to conduct the minimum number of political, business, or military acts any normal state in the real world does in that time.
Out of choices: Limit number of times a player may switch, outright banning it.

Fenced Ideas:
1) The Resource Bidding Thread (12/16/11)
This was something that was brought up in version 1. Me and Veoline (who played as Persia at that time) flirted with the idea of having some sort of international economic system that can be logged. Veo proposed to the creation of a third thread (IC thread, OOC thread, and the theoretical "bidding" thread) where unit prices will be logged and we can determine prices of resources through bidding.

Base prices will start off at 1970's levels, and modern base levels if data can not be found. From here, prices will be altered as we take and place bids. In the end, this will carry over into the RP.

This thread will move independent of the main RP thread and can remain dormant/active whenever necessary. Expect prices to fluctuate when new factions open themselves up to international commerce (Such as China and the ASB as a whole), or international mercantile groups set up a form of monopoly. Similarly availability of a resource can be cut or totally removed should that area be disturbed, invaded, or something goes on that effect that production area.

Whoo! This was needed. Now I can express my thoughts without filling the main thread with OOC ;D

So, how long before all of the US is crushed under New England's tiny boot?

Finished writing my app:
Nation: Argentina
Backstory: Argentina supported the allies in World War I, but because there was no clear winner, Argentina didn't knew what to do then. 4 years after Roque Sáenz Peña made the secret ballot for people to vote in with no chances of cheat except about changing the ballots of the voting, Hipolito Yrigoyen, from the radical civil union, won the elections and started politic and economic reforms to help the country with all the trouble it went on, until 1930, when he was overthrown on a Coup D'eat. Juan Domingo de Peron rose as the president of Argentina in 1946. However, he didn't fulfill the needs of the militar party because he started an isolanist policy from the foregin countries, and so he was overthrown from his place, opening a period of trouble because there were many Coup D'eats back then, and in his goverment the Peso devauled and inflation raised to desesperate levels for the once country that was in the top 10 of the richest countries in the world. But in 1960, the economy started to grow back again, but it never reached the prosperity of years ago. Shanty towns began to grow, and it began many revolutions and weak radical goverments since then.

Hey, Nova, go dig a page or two into the IC thread and read over my first IC post. I need your response to it before I can move on :>

EDIT: You just did, but with a problem. New England doesn't call itself " United States " it calls itself the " New England Republic ".

Aaron, now that New England is it's own country, should I edit my app to include the successful separation from the USSA? As well as create a facts sheet after the nation is on it's feet?

By the way, Nova, many of New England's states rank very highly in many areas of production, so you just gave up very valuable resources claiming that " New England can't support itself ".

Hah!

But please don't invade me I'm just a peaceful nation.

Ok, I'll retry
Nation - Argentina

Backstory - Argentina supported the allies in World War I and was one of the richest nations in the world, but because there was no clear winner, Argentina didn't knew what to do then.

Shanty towns began to grow, and peronism, the movement formed by Juan Domingo Peron, was banned by the weak civilian goverments of 1958 - 1966

Radicalism returned to Argentina with Arturo Frondizi's presidency in 1958, that had approximatedly 4 millon votes to his favour, with the help of Juan Domingo Peron, that left to Caracas at the time. He helped Frondizi in hopes that he could made legal once again the Peronism, the movement he fought so hard to maintain, but he didn't do so. Arturo was overthrown by the militars in 1962.

In 1963, the radicals won with Arturo IlIa, in those elections, the communists and peronists weren't allowed to vote. The Tacuara, an anti-semite and nationalist movement was banned by Arturo, and the country grew economicaly and politicaly. It seemed like everything was resolved, but the militars didn't like it, and he was overthrown, starting a movement named Argentine Revolution (Revolucion Argentina) by the militars. Campora was elected in 1973, but an oil crisis occured in 1973 that occured worldwide, and on the first month of his reign he had more than 600 protests and occupations because of the lack of oil. Finally, Peron returned, and in September he won the elections

Peron's new goverment only lasted one year before he finally died, and he was planning to bring politic peace and restore the stability to the country that missed his leader, but he died in June 1 of the next year, and his wife, Maria Estela Martinez de Peron, or more known as Isabel de Peron took control of the country, but she was inexperienced in politics, economy went down and she was overthrown by the militars

That is better?

Yes, much better. Though I'm not experienced in Civ RPs, so I can't really put any kind of proper judgement on it.

Nation- South Africa
Leader- Ulric Benjamin
Faction Type-
Backstory/Bio- After South Africa's day of independence on April 14th, the day they broke free from British control, they had remained neutral in all political affairs and war mongering, and kept their mind to their own to reestablish a government and setting up an economy. Since then, they have been able to produce a respectable amount of product from the land around them, utilizing their resources to their advantage. There was the occasional revolt, but by the time those started to become serious, law enforcement had already been established. In 1916, the revolts became overwhelming. Improvements that had replaced the damaged was burned back down where it originally was, and law enforcement were evens tarting to get pushed back. For almost an entire year, crime was a regular thing on the streets. Over a thousand rape victims were filed, and theft and illegal drug use sky rocketed. During the last days of that year, African leader Letsego Hamachi was murdered at a meeting with the senate discussing these unfortunate matters. Since that day, the strict principles of the law were enforced. A new leader was elected, Mason Doll, an old British friend of Letsego (yet still a legal citizen) was put into office as an attempt to calm the riots. It had worked for the most part, but the crime rate was still up. Starting 1918, after Mason had almost two years of leadership passed a bill that each leader was allowed to be in office for a total of ten years until death or resignation, instead of permanent leadership.

After the following years, things began to slowly improve, especially since the death penalty was allowed in 1919 for serious offenses. Buildings were beginning to be rebuilt once more, and production began to pick up again. Nothing as serious as the revolts had happened again until the the STD spread in 1921, but that was only a month or two long event. After that, South Africa began focusing on medical treatments and hospitals. Everything was relatively fine after that, and nothing serious had happened since then. Skipping to 1934 under the leadership of John Adrian, the economy was stirred and caused an inflation of 2.7% that lasted for a year, and then swung the other way into a recession of 3.14%. The economy sorted itself out eventually in 1939 under the rule of Dantre Hossum, an African. Thankfully, there were no revolts like there were about 22 years or so ago. The following years were simple. The economy grew, there were cultural expansions, the population steadily increased, and the health rate was at 81%, and an education rate of 76% with it slowly rising. In 1951, leader Patrick N'Busch decided to increase the education rates. More schools and districts opened up and they took a stronger stance on education. Besides that, Patrick was a little corrupt and made multiple attempts to invade a neighboring country, but the bills were constantly refused by the senate which Dantre Hossum had set up on his last year in office. Despite this however, the education and literacy rate was increased by 7%.

As technologies and sciences and other new routes opened up, there was a surplus of jobs. Unemployment wasn't a worry to the government and anybody who was unemployed was simply lazy. A main religion was established in 1965 by Dick Boris. Judaism became a main practice, but only half of the population were religious. In order to try and enforce this, he and his attorney somehow managed to pass a bill to have children practice Judaism in schools. An uproar had ensued and parents across the country made peaceful protests along the streets, but nothing changed. Soon, some parents started removing their children from school and either taught them by themselves or with tutors, or enlisted them in homeschooling/private schools. After a full ten years, Dick resigned from office and a new young leader with good intentions by the name of Ulric Benjamin took place in 1976. He had abolished the enforced practice of religion and passed a bill allowing free practice of religion throughout the country. Back then when racism was only a minor issue, he still acknowledged this problem and that anyone denying a person service, help, or anything of that effect based on their race would be given a fifty rand(equivalent of a dollar) fine. This didn't stop generic racism however, but racism would always exist and it wasn't bound to stop. In the short amount of time of being in office, and at such a young age, Ulric was becoming a great leader, and is getting ready to establish their first real trade route that wasn't with a neighboring country out of sympathetic kindness and charity after the revolution and the revolt. Ulric is currently looking into establishing a trade route with Ukraine.

I'm going to put the fact sheet up later. Just so I can keep track of things.

Actually, now that I think of it, I should probably let my nation grow a bit before I make a facts sheet. It wouldn't hurt for New England to be added to the map, though, would it? I'd like a Navy blue color, please :>

Maybe. Meh-be.

Patchy - Apart from the non-African names you're OK. I think if you can supply a story as to how Judiasm was the majority/preferred religion I can overlook that. But a few of the names are sort of obviously not Africa.

http://en.wikipedia....alema_Motlanthe

That's a good African name. May need some alteration if you want to distance yourself from the real-world. T'is what I do. But I swear there was name that strikes hard Japanese chords in my head. I'll however let you by with English and Dutch names since they historically have had a colonial hold on the region prior.

But yeah, fix the names and maybe delve into how Judiasm (a very minority religion there historically) got into a position where there were forced-practice laws passed. You're accepted, but I'm expecting an explanation.

Kinkaz - You did better this time. And I take it your not a native English speaker? Hopefully we can help spruce it up.

The naming convention in several parts of Africa (Ethiopia at least) is using the name of your father as your surname, which means i've been able to use that list for both.

Fact Sheet
I figured I could make it work with a faction

Country name- United Forces of India
Map-
Posted Image
Background of country-

Quote

The UFI was formed before the Parliament was assassinated. Mahatma used to be a member of Parliament, going by a different name at the time. Seeing the collapse of mother India before his eyes, he fled the country mere days before the bombs went off and killed Parliament. Once India had devolved into complete anarchism, he convinced millions of citizens that the unholy had tried to destroy their great nation. But, under his guidance, the pride of the nation could be restored once more. He changed his name to Mahatma Sarvodaya- Mahatma meaning saint, and Sarvodaya, meaning progress for all.

Soon, however, India rose from the ashes as a collection of disorganized, angry states. Figuring one had to be loyal to his cause, Mahatma went to each government, pleading them for assistance. Only Jaipur's accepted. The communist structure of their government (which I am going to need as a plot device, sorry person who claims this country) was very stable economically. Though the government is not directly affiliated with the faction, a few generous donations have saved them more than once. The main base of military and political operations is centered in Jaipur, near the outskirts of one of the larger towns.

Mahatma has managed to assemble a large coalition of citizens and soldiers from many countries. He continues to launch guerrilla strikes against convoys and troops in all the following states: Delhi, Pakistan, Maharashtra, Bangladesh, Bengaluru, Sri Lanka, Kashmir, Burma, and non-supportive regions of Jaipur. Troops aren't scarce, and it takes few to run the 'government'. Though they have but a few fighter jets, land forces often dwarf forces in battlefields. When combat is undesirable, citizens associated with the UFI will often commit to satyagraha, or peaceful revolt. Pakistan, a Muslim nation, often has more problems than other nations would with this faciton. Burma's unresponsive government makes it easy to target. Former Indian nations, however, are almost compliant went it comes to demands. True, they have put up fights when warfare tactics are applied, but they do not openly criticize the UFI. Well, not yet...

With the world stirring once more, Mahatma finds himself once again struggling for power. India has been apart for five long years, and while the UFI has been active, it hasn't been enough to unite mother India once more. The time is ripe, with the nations of the world stirring. Maps are going to be burned and redrawn soon. Why not start in southern Asia?
Location- Divided Indian states, Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh
Area (comparative)-Not very large, considering only a fraction of every nation's citizens participate.
Looking at the length of this form, do you really think this is the sign-up sheet? If no look up a shorter one then come back to this in a while- This is totally a sign up sheet. Your argument is invalid.
Maritime Claims-Nowhere, with the exception of waters between Sri Lanka and other 'Indian' territories. Even then, it's mostly raiders and pirates in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Climate-India is almost entirely desert, Burma is the same, except for some jungle between the two. Pakistan is very similar to the rest of the Muslim nations: Dry, hot, dusty, sandy, and <insert desert adjective here>.
Terrain-The overall land is very flat, though between Burma and India lies the Himalayas, so terrain gets more rugged there.
Natural Resources-None, as most of the resources supplying the faction is purchased from foreign nations.
Natural Hazards-Dehydration, poisonous creatures and insects, flash flooding, and disease cause much problem to supply lines and troops owned by the faction.

Population-roughly five to ten million, around seven hundred fifty thousand troops
Major cities by population-Jaipur is currently the only city under UFI control
Nationality (example: Chinese, American, Turkish)-Indian, Pakistani,  Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, and Burmese
Religion (19% Muslim? 25% Catholic?)- Around 61% Hinduism, 25% Muslim, and 19% Buddhist

Government Type (capitalism is NOT a government type)- Communist, Socialist
Capital- Jaipur, currently
States/Provinces- None
Territories- Jaipur
Flag or Flag Description-
Posted Image
(Top text: United Forces of India Bottom text: For the good of all)

Military Branches-Infantry, air force, raiders (guerrilla), pirates (navy)
Main Battle Tank- + Armor thickness, barrel caliber, shell type: No tanks
Standard Issue Weapon- + Caliber: Fedorov Avtomat, 6.5 mm
Uniform Color/Pattern- Desert camo, enemy uniform, badge clearly displayed signifying UFI membership
Other- Ships fly UFI flag, badge on uniform is exchangeable with old-style Indian uniforms
Military Service Age and Requirements- Old enough to hold a gun and aim, only males (NOT sexist, just Pakistani)
Naval Size (if applicable)- Mostly trading ships pirated and used for raiding purposes, exact count is unknown
Air Force Size (if applicable)- Around thirty, some of which being standard modified Indian Sukhoi

Not terribly long, but I hope it cuts it. :)
