Update Log:
v3: added armor for all four gems
-nerfed all tools durability a little.
-tweaked the rarity of all gems.
v2: added obsidian rods and mystic fluorite.
-fluorite and mystic fluorite tools now are crafted with
obsidian rods rather than sticks.
v1: official re-release.
Issues/Bugs:
Currently, you will have more of these ores than you know what to do with, if you mine alot. I am still tweaking the world gen for the right rarity. Bear with me!
Current Features: Ruby (layer 28 and under: tools as fast as diamond, 400 uses) Emerald (layer 28 and under: tools as fast as diamond, 400 uses) Flourite (layer 25 and under: tools as fast as gold, 2000 uses) Mystic Fluorite (Recipe below, tools faster than gold, 2600 uses) Gunpowder Ore (layer 20 and under: drops 3-6 gunpowder)
Fluorite and Mystic Fluorite recipes use Obsidian Rods!
All tools and weapons are enchantable, and contain thier own materials.
Replaces nu.class, dj.class, and zr.class. (renderplayer, enumtoolmaterial and enumarmormaterial.

It doesn't matter what game you play, as long as you have a good time when playing it and that it is a game that is good(if you want to know if the game you're playing is good, just ask).
It's easy to bypass the need to edit ToolEnumMaterial, just find the custom ToolEnumMaterial tutorial on the forum, (It's basically just making a new ToolEnumMaterial and a new ItemTool) or you could use MinecraftForge.
About the nu.class, at the moment I just don't know how to get around it, though I will look into it.

Why didn't you just update your old topic?
For some reason, there were a ton of error (since the last time i updated was 1.6.6), and I am just not good enough with java yet to go through and troubleshoot, so I just started over on the more ores.
Also, I will update the old thread when more of my mods are updated, right now, it's just the ore mod.

Thats a good idea, but I'm trying not to use too many block ID's. I do plan on adding a new toolset crafted with a mixture of the gems (maybe a new type of rod too, like obsidian). This would be the strongest toolset in the mod.
I also plan on adding recipes for hard to get items/blocks using the gems in this mod, like mob spawners and such.

This seems like a very well balanced mod, but I'm not going to download it yet; I will in the future.
You should add a bow that you can enchant. Possibly made out of obsidian sticks, Flourite (in the middle or something), and string? I always wanted to be able to enchant a bow, but it would be too overpowered for the normal bow. Enchantments could include:
1) Endermen don't teleport away from arrows when shot from the bow (Ender-Proof enchantment or something like that).
2) More damage (like sharpness for the sword).
3) Better durability.
4) Farther reach (so you can snipe those skeletons from waaaaaay far away. I want this one the most)

Also, as others said you can easily solve the nu.class issue!
There are many other ore mods out there that don't modify any base class at all!
