I've got an ID conflict between FutureCraft and Buildcraft. FutureCraft has changable IDs, BuildCraft does not. So I need to change the FutureCraft IDs to something available, but I don't know what's available.

I looked at the ID-Resolver, but it looks like I need to run the game to use that, which I can't do, because of the ID conflict. Talk about Catch-22, eh?

You should be able to open the minecraft.jar and look at all the id's and then change them to a non-conflicting id. IF that doesnt work. Just un-install one of the mods.

Oh god my head hurts.....ID resolver STOPS the conflicts when they happen in console and prompts you to change it, WITHOUT the game crashing. It's the point of an ID CONFLICT RESOLVER
What's the deal with f**king a Mexican chick?

Is it a separate program or something?

Why don't you just Force Update minecraft the only install FutureCraft? Then just change the IDs in-game with only FutureCraft installed. (As someone else said, just use insanely large numbers for IDs) Install Buildcraft when you're done with all this. Alternately go into item.java and block.java and edit the ids yourself.
