really piping out the resources just takes injinuity, i mean sure a few blocks and a good setup , but all u need is to add the capability for them to drop into pipes , and then a pipe spawner thing thats used for walls but have it hold pipes =P

No i know THAT'S easy. The "bitch to program" part is all the stuff about IC and BC because those both use blocks with entities and such, so i have no idea if this machine is even capable of moving them

Around 0:20 of the video of the tunnel making boat, when you start it up, why does one row of the blocks lag and slightly fall behind?

as long as the things that create the block does so using similar code to how the player does with right click the possible problems would be minimized if not completely avoided XP

or did u mean like attaching it too the machine like dropping a mfsu and some kind of power converter to it as a power source ?

I can has beta version? I'd be fine with it as it stands right now, but I would like to see the pipe placer and the pipe pumping soon. Also, not one person has managed to create something like this with furnace-like blocks. Even eloraam just had her frames push forwards, then become normal, then entity, then normal, switching back and forth.

In a couple of weeks redpower will be at 2.5 and will have everything needed to make a TBM out of normal(ish) blocks. But this does seem alot easier.

Dude, in minecraft, you can build portals to hell, boolean logic systems with a MAGICAL red powder, flying islands, kill exploding penis monsters, and chop down trees with your bare hands. This is not a game built around realism.

For powering you could have several blocks.
This block is powered by IC power.
This block is powered by BC power
This block is powered by coal
This is powered by RP Blutricity

And it just detects if you got those mods installed.
Alternately you could have addons which add those blocks

Several things I picture you would need to add for this.
Clearly some kind of internal piping system.
Dont use someone elses piping but rather design your own.
This means this isnt a dependant.

A storage chest. A incinerator. Some way to filter the items.

It would better if he made it compatible with something like BC or RP2's pipes, Less block IDs to take up. Unless Jeb makes it so that you can have an infinite amount of block IDs.

He'd have to change a ton of code, and if he used the current setup, loading times would be immense. Why? Minecraft goes through and checks to make sure there are no conflicts between every single ID! Which is why the more mods you have, the slower minecraft loads.

Is the RP maschine capable of infinite moving? the TBM-like stuff i saw in the video moves on a axis, so you would need to build one which is as long as the tunnel itself. no no no... no way to dig some kiloblocks with that.

Im pretty sure eloraams machine was in early testing and wasnt capable of all functions. But im pretty sure in pr5 you will be able to make it self contained and also have a built in storage system.

AFAIK IC2, BC2, BC3, and RP2 don't use entities. Only BTW uses entities for waterwheels and windmills.

Looking at it, I would enjoy the mod. I think I would use Frames for downward drilling in minecraft. This is great. And I have to agree with most of the other people. Maybe look at piping codes in other mods and see if you can use that to build your own. You need to come up with pipes. I think it would be a great idea tho to allow an add-on for RP, BC, and IC2.

If you can mount things other than the TBM parts, you could use this as a mobile drilling platform for oil, water, and lava. That way you basically have a giant factory rather than just tossing things out. I think you should look into some sort of on-board power gen. I hate to go back to my factory to just find out that it's out of power. If you go with a BC pipe add-on see about getting a chunk loader. That way people can also use TP pipes to teleport the waste. All and all, it's a great mod with very small faults such as the dropped items. So can't wait to see this. be sure to send me a link to it and I'll give you even more feedback on it. Enjoy some diamonds and +'s

With an inchworm drive you could have infinite moving. I've already designed mine so you will only need to stopp to get wood to make torches.
