So i can make a spawner for one of my custom npc's but nothing spawns out of it? there is a small version of the mob inside the spawner so i dont know what is wrong. also how do you control a mob you have mounted using the mounter (im using the 1.7.10 version btw)
The spawner needs the right conditions to spawn its mob, however I don't know those conditions. Its probably the same as regular animal mobs. Try adding some light.
You cannot control mobs you mount with the mounter tool.
Also, formatted text as a post doesn't do much but annoy those who try to read it. The standard text format does everyone finely.

I keep getting this error on 1.7.10 using the newest version of CustomNPCs (1.7.10c_test). I've gotten this error on previous versions of it too though. It happens when I walk around on the map for a while. Eventually, when some mobs spawn, it'll crash. I think the most alarming thing in the log is the spider entity on the map with the name "Bob McErsheep" or whatever at the time of the crash. Any idea on how to fix this without wiping out mods? I've tried tweaking the unique ID config, the start ID value, you name it.
Alright so right as i was getting the crash report i noticed i had downloaded the 1.7.2 version of the mod instead of the 1.7.10 which is what i needed... i facepalmed after trying the update and sure enough it worked... xD
I was thinking about a way of teaching NPCs in suvival, instead of spawning dozens of NPCs for each role or profession with the NPC Wand.
Say, the world naturally spawns a few of a "neutral" NPC, with no ability or role. Then, you could give them a "How-to" book which would contain the same parameters you find in the NPC Wand, the NPC gets the book and acquires the knowledge from the book. The "How-To" book would be craftable and writable in survival.
I think a book is not as anti-climatic as using NPC Wand in survival.
My server is having a problem (in 1.7.10) in which every time somebody teleports to a new location using an NPC, they arrive partially stuck in the floor, continuously falling, and cannot move until they break the block they're "Glitching" through. Has anybody else encountered this problem? Does anybody know how to solve it?

I've never heard of that, but I can offer a possible solution. The same type of problem can occur with regular teleports, so on an old server our staff made each teleport 1 blocker higher than it should be. To do this with NPC teleports, setup the teleport location while standing on a block. This block you will break after you've set the teleport up. Try this out separately before making changes to your teleporters, as it may not work.

Is there a way to install without items? i am trying to add this to TPPI but there simply isn't enough open item ids in TPPI for this mod
Check the config for an option to disable the extra items and or blocks.

Heya Noppes, have a crash report, think I know the cause, but figured you would be much more familiar with your own mod and may be able to give me a specific reason rather than my generalities:
Also, I think you missed my earlier response, yes I have the config set to allow op commands but still seems to have issues with performing these on servers. Could it be something related to say forgeessentials and the way it handles commands and perms?

Math.random() returns a double, but I am looking for an int! and for some reason (int)(Math.random()) does not work!
it says this: identifier is a reserved word
Edit: So far I've only found 1 way around this... I used Math.floor(Math.random()*6+1)
and the results that come out are 1.0,2.0,3.0...etc. I would like to remove the .0 after the int that I want, if anyone can help quote plz

According to google Math.floor should return an integer, you shouldnt be getting a double like that. You can try using parseInt on your result.

I Also saw a problem i think. I think that happens when you update the mod from 1.7.10b to c_test and than going back to b again. After this all the Quest rewards and items you get over command dont rly works. cant explain much better.
The 1.7.10c version I just now released should fix the id problem

If game launched through Java8 no JS aviable for customnpcs
returning null for npc.say causes client crash no matter what - that's really annoying.
getTypeName on player and item always returns "null" (atleast it seems so)
(also problems with item(ArrayStoredExeption) of getSurroundingEntities, it also seem to ignore entity type)
In addition, maybe i'm doing something wrong but every time i try to edit world.data.json manually its ignored and reset.
(what is that file for if i can't do anything with it)

And is there "an easy way"(method) to detect distance between entities?
I'm currently in the process of getting a hobby server (stargatemc.com) that is "stargated themed" and your mod is absolutely fantastic!!!!
I have however run into one issue that has stuck with customnpcs since 1.5 -- Whenever Galacticraft or tinkers construct are installed, your tabs override theirs for factions and quests for survival players.
I've contacted them and asked if they could apply a fix seeing as your mod is in the minority they've said that you'd need to apply one if you were to become compatible with Galacticraft and Tinkers construct. They both use the same tab code apparently. (I'm not that smart with this stuff).

I'm having a problem where is says npc and world are undefined. for example, if i do world.getBlock(-22, 63, 101), is says that world is undefined. I thought maybe it might be because I use ruby, partially because i know it, but mostly because ECMAscript isn't available for some reason, maybe that has something to do with it, not sure. I am sure that I'm using the latest version of java. none of the class files seem to be missing, I've tried redownloading it but it still doesn't work. I have no other mods installed and am using minecraft version 1.7.10. any help is very much appreciated.
Actually, you can already do that. If you want to make a skin, simply go to your minecraft folder, then to custom npcs -> assests -> custom npcs -> textures. Here you got the textures for anything in the mod in seperate folders, so you can easiely edit everything.
Editing the base textures of minecraft requires you to go the the minecraft.jar and then search for the textures (?), even though I am not too sure about that part.

I was talking about implementing a feature that lets you specifically make blocks and items as NPC's too, that way you could edit and give them extra textures as well or even give them a living animation and make them do things if you so desire.

Was requested by some server owners. You can make resource packs and replaced the texture and name.

With the id problem you meant that the last added dialog/quest kept being overwriten by new ones made when you restarted your world?
