____

1.As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering.Upon inspection you realize that a group of HighElves are mocking a small WoodElf child.Howdo you react?

Answer:
-Olaris clenches her fists- "This is outrages!" -she thought angrily, knowing the child's pain. Although she is Outgoing, she wouldn't dare too run into a fight without thinking it through, calmly raising her bow, not too kill just to warn. Olaris shoots the dirty ground, covered in muck; beside one of the High Elves feet. The elves glance at Olaris, she could tell, they were afraid- "Leave the Child alone..." -Olaris said with a proud voice, striking fear into them, they quickly scurry away- "Now.." -Olaris thought, as she walked too the Child, petting him/her on the head gently- "You're safe... go" -Olaris whispered, sending the child off-
2.Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud.Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:
-Olaris walked over too the man, looking down at him with a frown; She might hate people but, what's the point of stealing a frail man's money? Their is nothing to prove- "You need some help?" -Olaris said dumbly, of course he needed help, extending her hand, he grasped for it, she pulled him up slowly, making sure not to hurt him... much. After he was standing up, shaking a bit from the fall, Olaris crouches down, picking up the gold coins, piece by piece, dropping them into the brown pouch before raising it too the man- "Here you go... be careful next time" -Olaris muttered, she watched as the man scurried off along the path-

3.Whilst traversing the ElvenWoodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer:

"Hey, a pretty lookin' elf like you knows a bargain when she see's one, eh?" -He announced with joy, despite Olaris' hatred for merchants and their pathetic advertisements, she needed some bread and more arrows- "I need some White Bread, and..." -she paused for a moment, counting the amount of bows she had already used, 54 was the amount she counted- "Uh... 64 arrows, just too be safe" -said Olaris, looking at him curiously- "Hahah, The loaf of bread will be 10 gold, while the 64 arrows will be 70!" -the merchant smirked while saying so, knowing that they were over priced, well so did Olaris!- "How about 50 gold coins for the arrows, that's the normal price for them!" -Olaris said smugly, the merchant peered curiously at her- "50? Out here in the forest? You'll be lucky too find another merchant out here" -The merchant replied, believing he one the battle, not yet though...- "You'll also be lucky to find another customer... so no, 50" -replied Olaris smartly, the merchant sighed and nodded- "50 gold coins it is then m'lady...." -he glares at her, merchants ALWAYS hate putting down the price, it means less money- "Alright!" -Olaris gave the man 60 gold coin, going on her way, munching on the bread-

In your own words, define what
the act of roleplaying is:

Roleplaying is more than a simple gaming experience, it enables the player to
totally emerse themselves in that character, its history, its culture
and its beliefs.

In your own words, define what
the act of meta-gaming is
:

Good question, In simple terms Meta gaming is the use of (external) information to
allow their character to progress with the advantage of
open source information.

In your own words, define what
the act of power-emoting is:

Power emoting is the use of language to manipulate a role playing
situation. Put simply one player creates a situation where the other player
cannot react, therefor controlling the outcome and ruining the
RP environment.

IE, Player A walks through a
serein landscape, admiring the view and nods a friendly hello to player B.

     Player B
Pulls a nuke from his uranium enriched cyber leggings and destroys the
landscape and all of its beauty with a well placed precision
bombardment.  etc etc

In-Character Details

Character Name: Bama

Character Race: Human

Character biography - Make this
at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history,
appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Bama was born to an unconventional family In Moraton,
after being raised in this small county The family moved to Arethor to seek a
more profitable future, his mother a barmaid/showgirl In his father a laborer
who enjoyed the finer things in life and was frequently absent during his
youth. As a result Bama found himself being dragged up instead of raised, as a
child he would listen to stories of the Pheonix revolution and act out the
battles with his school friends, he would always play as Eze’kiel Tarus. As the
years passed, he would walk home covered in coal dust from his 22 hour shift
down the coal pit. After a few more years and a few broken relationships he
became a game keeper for the king, something that would utilise his
survival skills. He was put forward to attend a survival course so he could
teach the kings troops and guards. After a very successful career in
adventure training and advance survival tactics he decided to use these skills.
With the soul purpose of gaining enough life experience to join the Phoenix
Rangers.

With a heavy heart he left
Arethor He set sail with a trader who was bound for Malidor, he
didn’t go all the way to the Elven nation instead getting off on a small island
which was ridden with jungle and equally inhospitable natives. Bama used
his skills to create a small commune which thrives to his day. After his time
spent on this island he crafted a small boat and Landed near Rienna, he made
his way south to Solace, with the intention of returning to his beloved
Arethor. He is now recognised as the go to guy for anything survival. The man
can create anything out of nothing last days out in the open without a roof or
a warm cup of tea. He claims to credit this with his up bringing.
Others believe he is just in tune with the land. Bama is a
no nonsense sort of guy, survival of the fittest, and natural selection
are his motto. But also has a caring side, his jungle commune is testament
to this and his excellent teaching background.
Bamas appearance isn't one of grandeur, its one of hard
work and years of living off the land or high in the jungle canope. a
few quotes from .BAMAS BOOK OF SURVIVAL

"Fashion doesn't feed
you" "jump!" "well, i aint dying"  "Get a
grip!"

He is the sort of guy to collect
water for the team and he never leaves his mates.

There is no accurate date of his
birth as his father spent the administration fee on an Elven spa day.
A rough estimate is 27

His original name was Bobby but a
jungle tribe renamed him Bama

What are your characters
ambitions?:
His ambitions are to live off
the land, teach his fellow person and live in a peaceful community.
In his book he claims to have a ambition of one day making a lava water fall.
He wasn't available to confirm nor deny this. The love of
his Nation has inspired him to one day join the Phoenix Rangers and train with
the finest archers in Asulon.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full
paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in
roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not
short.

Upon entering the
Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell
his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf
looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

I decided it was time to leave the tavern and make my
way back to the room I had rented, perhaps they would unlock the door this
time, I could only hope, another night in my makeshift hammock wouldn't be
ideal.

Suddenly a small dwarf shouts to
me asking me to take a look at his goods, " you there, yes you! you look
like the sort of human who could benefit from my goods"

Who was this Dwarf, he looked
like a lost soul so i approached him.

"hello can i help you?"
I said, i was only being friendly the last thing i wanted to do tonight was
start speaking to a Dwarf who smelt of cabbage, my bed was calling.

"Evenin sir, might i
interest you in some of the finest goods from across the land?

I laughed inside, was this Dwarf serious?
A semi broken table with a few rusty swords, birch wood and a collection of
meat.

" Ahh yes, about your goods.
If this is the finest goods that this land can produce I may as well go back to
the jungle now. I suggest you improve your shop and its goods before you entice
strangers to look"

He seemed shocked, perhaps the
old man at the tavern was right, may be all those years living in the wild had
stripped me of my social skills, i looked at his tired face and felt guilty his
eyes were full of despair and desperation.

"On second thought, I will
try some of the pork"

One thing about the city i did
enjoy, and that was warm food.

"oh thank you sir, you wont
be disappointed, can i ask you a question?"

A question? i was growing tired
of this interaction, all i wanted was my pork and my questionable residence.

"Are you homeless?"
only because i could rent you a room if you wish?"

I wasn't going to ask why he
had come up with that conclusion, my beard? my tattered clothes? my broken face
a face which had been bashed by the elements.

"Um thank you for the offer
but i already have something sorted with a friend of mine but thank you for the
offer.

"Who are you any way, you
aint from round here are yah"

The last interaction i had with a
living being was an elf and four rats.

Yes your correct I’m not from
round here, I have travelled from the North, trying my hand at living in a
city, all these new sights and sounds are taking some getting use to"

I grabbed my pork, paid the
little man. Admittedly more than it was worth but he looked in more need
than myself.

Time to see where the city takes
my tonight then.

You’re wandering the
Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf.
There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into
violence soon, what does your character do?

After taking a rest in a nearby tree I heard shouting, the
sort of shouting, which would soon erupt into a fight. I had to see this,
entertainment wasn't cheap in the city.

To my shock it was a large Orc and
a Dwarf. This was hardly a front row seat to two warriors battle to
the death, A few encounters with Orcs reminded me to be aware of their
aggression and questionable logic.

" What’s going on here"
I said forcibly, I walked all the way over here to see two warriors
of equal stature fight with honor and respect, but all it Is, is an Orc and a
Dwarf, come on its not exactly fare is it, how about we make it
fare?"

Hopefully my direction of enquiry
would confuse them and diffuse the situation. The Orc spoke, well..
more like grunted.

Dwarf upset Orc, Orc smash
Dwarf"

"I see one minor problem Orc.
This isn't a fair fight and your missing out being here, really
missing out.."

"Eh? Missing out? What
missing out of what?"

that seemed to get the Orcs
attention.

"Theres an offer on steak in
the shop just down that road, you really should try it here is some money,
enough for a steak"

Before i could say your welcome
he took the money and ran at top speed down the road

"Thank you
kind stranger!"

This was my second run in with a
Dwarf, they were good people at heart  hence me decision to help him.

"your welcome" I smiled
"you owe me"

Whilst walking down the
road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak
and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and
the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the
ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer
down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

"Ouch, you didn't want to do
that" He smiled at my joke, trying to make light of
a painful situation. I noticed he had dropped all of his coins
I wasn't going allow this old gentleman to lose a penny because of a
poorly made walking stick.

"Oh thank you son, please
take a coin as a token of my gratitude"

I hadn't done anything, this
man had clearly hurt his head on the way down and no longer had he ability to
think correctly, concussion is was.

"oh its fine I dont need
your money, but what you need is a new walking stick. How about i make you
one?"

" you would do that for
me?"

It seems
that kindness in this city wasn't a everyday norm, whilst
in the jungle i had come across a small tribe who trained me in the art of
crafting, a walking stick wouldn't be a problem.

Role-playing: Acting as if you were a different person.
Meta-gaming: Using out of character knowledge while in character
Power-emoting: Saying that you do something completely unreasonable (I escape by killing everyone around me)

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Darin Tiller
Current Age: 23
Sub-race (if any):
Past /
History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was born the second youngest into a large family, so I did not have a lot of attention growing up. My parents owned a tavern, and us kids were always working in it. I hated it, not because I did not like working (although that was not great either), but because my older brother was a complete jerk to me all the time. He made me do his work, beat me up, that sort of thing. When I was about ten, I started fighting back, and we would both get into trouble and have to do extra work. Later, he left to get work of his own. I was relieved, but he soon came back to work for our parents, failing to find other work.
The next major thing that happened in my life was our town getting raided by a group of bandits. I got separated from everyone, and a bandit was approaching me. He was trying to get me to tell him where my family kept our money, and when I wouldn't, (not for lack of want, but because I was too scared to think straight) he was about to kill me, but my brother came in and saved my life. We found the rest of the family hiding behind our tavern, and we ran away. We came back after a day and the bandits were gone. Only one person had been killed, and they didn't take much, but several buildings had been burned, including our tavern. I could not stay there, so I left, hoping to become a farmer in another village somewhere.
Ambitions for the Future: To become a successful farmer, and make a decent living.
Personality: I am cowardly, but I try to do the right thing, if it is not too scary.
Skills: Cleaning, lifting
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Brown eyes, brown hair, mustache, beard (skin attached)
Any other details you wish to share about your character: None

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperors palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: I walk up to the guards, trying hard not to draw attention to myself. I tell them about the man in question, and point him out, "Do you see that guy?" I ask quietly, "I think he is trying to steal something." If they believe me, I continue walking past them. if they do not, I walk past the shady character and "accidentally" bump into him, trying to annoy/provoke him to do something. If that fails, I shout "Fire!" to try and disrupt whatever he is doing.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: I hide behind a tree and say, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." in a spooky voice. When the bandits come to investigate, I run away as fast as I can, yelling/taunting the bandits, hoping their heavy equipment tires them. If they don't chase me, I keep running. I don't need to do anything more risky than that.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: I try to get some food cheaply, suggesting a very low price, and when he doesn't go for it, I offer double the initial price. When he asks for more than that, I refuse, and inquire about farming/gardening equipment, and ask him what he wants for it. I offer him a bit less then that and he accepts. I go back to the food topic, hoping he might be willing to go for my offer now, and if he doesn't, I give him more.

Timothy is a 25 year old human. He has short black hair and a black beard and blue eyes.Timothy comes from the town of Mjolnir in Asulon. He grew up working with his Father, whose name is Charles, at his town's farm. He had a strong bond with his Mother and his little Sister, but those bonds were lost when a dangerous group of Orc bandits attacked Mjolnir.

Timothy and Charles were tending to the cows in the stable when they heard distant screams of children and women. They left the cows and realized the village was being attacked. To this very day Timothy has held a strong grudge against all Orcs and swears to protect anybody being threatened by an Orc. "Hello friend! Here, take my minas. I can't bare to see someone in this state, make good use of those coins." I would walk him to the nearest food shop to ensure he is safe.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Seeing the Orc threatening the Dwarf reminds me of my past experience and I rush in and shove the Dwarf out of the way,  not to hard to hurt him but not to soft to not get him out of the Orc's way. I find whatever is around that could help me defeat the giant Orc. Once the Orc is defeated I say to the Dwarf:
"Dwarf are you alright? Did he harm you? Here let me walk you back to your home" Then I would walk him to his home.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. I help the old man to a bench nearby, then I collect his minas and give them back to him. I then go shop to shop looking for a bigger and stronger moneybag and walking stick. I return to the old man and say:
"Here old man, a bigger and stronger walking stick to ensure you do not fall again. Also here is a brand new moneybag big enough to hold your coins so they do not fall out." I then walk him to where ever it is he is going.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? "Greetings Dwarf, what brings you to Arethor?" You can see he is dirty and looks poor. " I'm just trying to sell goods. Please do not report me!" whispers the Dwarf. "Why would i do that?" As I look at the wall in the background I see a Wanted Sign with a Dwarf identical to the one I'm talking to. "Your wanted!" I say. "Yes please sir. Do not alert the guards." A guard walks by and notices him and pushes me aside and pulls out a Sword. I backhand him and grab his sword. "Lets go friend!" I say. As we run out of the city we are pursued by Knights. "Why are you doing this for me?" he asks. " I do not like Humans, Dwarf its the least I can do." I pull off my hood. He sees that I'm a Orc. He is Shocked. "Don't worry I have nothing against Dwarfs." He is more relaxed now. As we stumble into the dark woods the knights stop the pursuit. "You are fine now Dwarf. Flee back to your land." He looks at me "What is your name?" he asks. I say "Scrream." as i walk away.

Youre wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I remember what the Dwarf looks like. It seems to be the same Dwarf I saved from Arethor. I walk up to the Orc and ask what his business is. He looks at me and asks "What is it to you! This maggot stole a bag of feed from my home." he says. I look at the Dwarf it is the same one from Arethor! I grab the Dwarf and say. " I told you to run to your land not into Orc territory! Idiotic Dwarf! You have gotten into a mess." I yell. The Orc takes out his sword and Kills the Dwarf. "No!, why did you kill him Orc!" I demand. "I said he stole from me. Back down before the same happens to you!" I take out my sword. He can tell that i'm more fit then he is. "Backdown? Haha. Who do you take me for whelp! I am Scrream. your future king! It is time for your demise!" A single slash cuts his arm off.  " Is that enough or shall I take your soul also?" He squirms away slowly. "Please stop! I will leave." I pass him 1 Gold Coin. "That should cover the Feed. Next time I would think before I draw a Sword. I leave while the Orc runs home. I know he will come back with more Orcs so I vanish into the Night.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: Knowing that I have money and this man is unlikely to get more anytime soon. I help him up. "Thank you orc. What is your name? he asks. I say "Scrream" He seems to be shocked why I didn't take the money. I realized that this man might have knowledge of a Near by Human Camp, or Town. "Do you know anything of a Camp, or village of some sort?" I ask. "Yes, a decent ways south. Follow the path and you should get there very soon. Why didn't you take my coin and flee?" he says. "Knowledge is power. Not currency. You seemed to have known something, thank you." I explain. "What is stopping you from taking my money now?" he asks. I look at him. "If i wanted to take your money I would of already. Count your blessings Elder. Now leave I seen a pack of bandits on the way here. Head back to your town." I say. "Thank you again." says the man. As we leave I hear a Wolf. I wonder if the man will make it back. Off to the Camp I go.

In-Character Information:

Full Name: Olycompus
Current Age: 21
Sub-race (if any): Wood Elf

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
I was born into a small cabin with open walls and a leaved ceiling in the tree city of Normandor. I lived a
very upsetting childhood, as my father left my mother only 2 week before my birth. She had to scavenge to survive, and even more so with the burden of me in her world. My mother had not managed to get a job, so she had to stay living in her Grandfathers old house when he left to settle down somewhere quiet. We have never had enough money to live gracefully like most of the inhabitants of Normandor, but we still enjoy what we have. I think it is a blessing that we should have so little, so we can treasure what we do have. I look up into the large wooded condos of the richer Elven population and think to myself, 'They probably look down onto me like I am scum, but it is actually them who are living the life of grime.' They do not know what it is to cherish something dearly until they come and experience it first hand down here.

I was never liked in my younger years. I think it was because of the money situation I was dealing with. I
was out working while others of my age were in the branches playing with sticks and wooden swords. I had to work since I was 12 years old to pay for food and shelter. We were kicked out of my first house when I was only 5 years old, and we've been searching for a perminent place to stay ever since. I wouldn't say I was 'bullied' as a child, but I was definetly picked on. I just ignored them and kept telling myself that in 20 more years I will be the one with the money and the one looking down on them. But I would not be like they are, never. I will be charitable and friendly, I would offer help and shelter to those who need it. I will work things out peacefully, but in times of war, I would fight for what I think is right. I hope that there will never be a war that I will have to fight in, but I know that there is always tension rising between the races, and there can never be fully fledged peace and equality. I have known that since I was 12 years old.
My mother was murdered when I was 17 years old. A cold blooded murder. We were staying in a small apartment-like room that we were renting for what to us was a small fortune, when I told her I was going out to try to beg for some more money or food for in the morning. I couldn't have been 20 meters from our house when I heard the scream that will taunt me for the rest of my life; My mother had been stabbed in the heart. I ran back to the house as fast as I could, but I only caught the glimpse of the killer. He had very pale skin, dark red eyes and was as fast as the wind. I think he was a human, but I will never know. Not until I find him, atleast. He stole what little possessions we had. A rich passer-by saw the murder and the state that I was in, and offered me a place to stay in her spare bedroom for a few nights while I got things sorted. I managed to raise a little amount of money in the time of my staying at her house, but barely enough to survive. She sent me on my way with some food. I have been living on branches and in nooks and crannies throughout the city until now.

Ambitions for the Future: I want to be a Elf of money. I want to show the world that it does not take power
or a rich background for one to live the life of a king. But on a darker side, I WILL find my mothers
killer, and steal his life, just as brutally as he stole my mothers.

Personality: I usually have a very friendly personality; I am kind and generous to others, and I always will
try to help in any way I can. I will fight hard for what I think is right.

Skills: I am good with words and am a fairly good shot with a bow. I also have the ability of very good hearing and can listen in to conversations going on from across a room.

Any other details you wish to share about your character: I like to get involved with others as much as I canas I like to be very talkative at times.

Open-Response-Questions____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?Answer: I walk up to them, making them well aware of my presence with my loud footsteps. I turn at a slightangle to show them the bow that is hitched onto my back, but not enough for it to be called a threat. Ireach out to take the hand of the little Wood Elf child, to which he graps on, and lead him away. The whispering and muttering start over again, but I do not care for those who think they can be an upperpower to someone else. I take the child to the closest village and leave him in company of the primary school teacher.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?Answer: I would hurry up to him and make my presence away, and making myself seem like no threat at all. Ihelp him back onto his feet, and with one of his arms over my shoulder, lead him to a fallen over tree andseat him on top. I hurry back to the place of the fall and start to gather the gold into a small pile. Iremove my necktie and create a makeshift carrying back, and fill it with the gold. I grab his walking stickin the proccess, and walk back to him. I hand him the money and his stick, to which he looks up with a smile. He offers me a small amount of gold, which I kindly deny, and point him in the direction of the closest village.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).
Answer: as I walk towards to Trading Caravan, totally oblivious to what useless items he is trying to sell me to, a kneedle in a haystack catches my eye; A grand longbow, made out of the trunk of a great oak. I turn to him and address to him clearly that I want the bow. He
replies saying 'That'll be 300 Mina please, mate!' I obviously look offput by his offer and he takes it down 50 Mina. I am still clearly unhappy with the price of this bow, but then an idea hits me; I could do a trade in! I reply back to him 'How about my bow, plus 50 Mina,
in trade for that bow?' He starts to ask about the condition of my bow, and I show him that it is very smooth and consistent. He accepts the offer, but only at a slightly higher price of 75 Mina.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing:Role-playing refers to the changing of one's behaviour to assume a role, normally a made up character.

Metagaming: Describes any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game. In simple terms, it is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions.
Power-emoting: Power-emoting or god-emoting is an act of forcing the result of one's actions on another character, typically without the other player's consent and not giving the other character a chance to do anything about the emote. For instance, "Player1 kills Player2", "Player1 hits Player2" and "Player1 steals X gold from Player2" are all power-emotes.
Power-emoting is heavily frowned upon in most roleplaying communities, since it takes the freedom of action away from the player being emoted on. The typical solution for this issue is to emote attempts instead of finished actions. For example, typing "Player1 tries to stab Player2 in the chest with his sword" will give Player2 a chance to dodge or parry the blow.
In-Character Information::
Full Name: Robert Eddard Arryn
Current Age:19
Sub-race (if any): Northern Human
Past /History(include childhood, major-events, etc.2+ paragraphs long): Robert is the son of a renowned builder of King Godfrey I, who helped rebuild Arethor. His father was then given a small castle and village, as well as many troops in the outskirts of Arethor. His mother is not his father's wife, rather he is a bastard. He was loved by his father at first, until he was thrown out of the castle for murdering the Cook for calling him a bastard. He went to the nearby town, and found refuge in the inn for free, as everyone respected him. One day, as he woke up, he noticed a lone falcon, flying above the inn. He was amazed at its strong wings and speed. From then on, he and his best friend Timothy trained in the back alleys for hours thwapping at each other with swords they made of tree branches.
At age 15, he was a very good sword fighter, he had joined the guard, and he had a well muscled and tall body. It was December 31st, the day of Heaven's Renewal. There was much festivity, but all of a sudden horns blew. Out of plains several hundred bandits came, and pillaged the town. When some two hundred armed knights came out of the castle, half the village was dead, and Robert was found with Timothy and his daughter dead in his arms. He decided to depart from the small castle and town immediately. As he left the gates, the town Blacksmith, a great friend of Timothy and his for helping him gather iron and such to smith, came running up with a cart covered by a . "Wait," he said, "I have made for you the greatest thing I have ever made!" he continued, as he took the sheet off the cart. Robert gasped, as he saw the armor, beautifully crafted out of silver, with a blue tabard embroidered with a falcon, flying above the moon. "For you Falcon. Lo! your arms fly with the speed of an eagle speeding to his prey, and the strength of one, ripping his prey apart. Go swiftly my friend. Avenge our memory." And so from that day on, he has vowed to help those in need, no matter how great the plea.

1.Whilstin the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperors palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?
Answer: I unsheathe my sword, slowly creeping behind him, waiting for him to do something suspicious, poised to charge and yell for the guards.
2.Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing,in which sits a small cobbled cottage.Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him.You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?
Answer: I quickly check the surrounding area for anything I could use to help him, before coming at the bandits from the side, hoping to kill the first before the second notices. If the old man does not run, then he may help me attack the bandits. I reason they may break and run if I charge at them, they may have very bad training,
3.You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has noset prices.Heis willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices.Whatdo you do?(Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).
Answer: I ask him if he has anything of worth that involves falcons or eagles, especially armor or weapons, stating I will pay much beyond what he may ask for. When he says he does have a sword which has an eagle made of silver set in the crossguard, and a  sapphire in the pommel. I reply saying I am willing to buy it from him for all of my money, satisfied I may have a sword worthy of legend.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Antecelia
Current Age: 117
Sub-race (if any): Mali’ame (Wood Elve)
Past / History :
My name is Antceleia, it means Last Star. I was given this name because I was the last child born of Asulvulina and Anterion. I have three sisters, Eletor, Marinal, and Athelen. Although I loved all my family, Athelen was the person I held dearest to my heart. I lived in small house, or at least much too small for four girls, and their parents. Eletor and Marinal married and moved out as soon as they had the chance, but I couldn’t bear to leave home, or Athelen. I spent many hours of the day exploring the forests, and being adored by my parents. My life was boring, with nothing exciting or fun to do. Although I loved being outdoors I felt as if my life was missing adventure and exploration. I soon realized that Athelen would leave near noon to the woods every day, with mysterious clothed packages. I started noticing missing carving knives from my father’s cabinet, which was fine for me since I needed to do less polishing, but it also confused me. Why would she need knives? Was there some unknown being in the forest that she was tracking, what was in the woods that she needed to go to everyday? I began fantasizing about what wonders she was doing in there. One day I made up my mind to go and follow her out. I hid behind the trees, hoping to go unseen, and when the sun reached the middle of the sky I stood very still and waited. It seemed like hours, although in realization it was only minutes. I stood silently as Athelen looked around and climbed a tree, she continued moving from tree to tree. Although I wasn’t as skilled a climber as she, I managed to keep her within eyesight, and we soon stopped near a small creak.
“You can come out now” she said in that melodic way of talking, that she only spoke to with me.
“How did you know, I was following you, I was being really careful!”
She chuckled and patted the spot near her where she was sitting.
“So what are you doing out here anyways?”
“That’s what I wanted to ask you”
“Well, can you keep a secret?” I nodded, and urged her to continue. She carefully un-wrapped her package, revealing a piece of log, as thick as my arm. I sighed in disappointment.
“I know it’s not much now, but one day this will be a great bow, and then I will teach you how use it.” A bow? There was no way I would be able to shoot a bow. I didn’t have the heart to kill anything, plus I wasn’t a very good aim. Now a sword I could use. I had better reflexes for hand to hand combat, but those were very rarely used where I lived. I watched as she got the knife and started carving. I became intrigued, watching the rhythm of her fingers and they took hold of the log and every day I would see it becoming more, and more like a bow.
“It’s almost done” She said to me one day.
“I’ll go get some thread to run threw it,” I said excitedly.
She nodded her head, not wanting to stop the rhythm of her fingers.
I quickly ran through the path that had become almost as familiar as my home, and ran into my house, searching for string, string that would soon be strung through the wood, which would soon turn it into a bow, and which would soon teach me how to shoot straight, or hunt like other Elves.
When I came back she was gone. There was no trace of her, I thought maybe she had just went home, or maybe wandered off. I sat there for 3 hours, waiting for her. I called her name many times, but the only answer I got was the birds singing, and the crickets chirping. I realized I had not shed one tear. Was it hope that was keeping me from crying? It must be, because I was sure she wasn’t dead. She was too smart to be killed in such a short period of time. For a while I convinced myself that she was just in the forest, exploring, and that any minute now she would come home. The realization hit me like an arrow in the knee, she was gone. The moment I found out that she was gone I packed my things and left without a word to my parents. I have been wandering for 10 years now, looking for her, hoping to find signs of her. I have vivid dreams of her every day now. I know she’s in trouble, I feel it in my guts. I spend every day looking for her now.
Ambitions for the Future: Find my lost sister Athelen, who disappeared.
Personality: Curious, Ambitious, Shy, Childish, Silent, Easily upset.
Skills: Cooking, Writing, singing, communicating with animals, good with swords.

____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?

Answer:
“Excuse me is there a problem here?” I push the small Child behind me, and glance up at the High Elves. The child looks down and kicks some dust with his shoes, as the High Elves continue laughing.
“Why do you continue to mock this child? Because he is “less superior” than you?”
“Stop getting in others fights, this is personal business.” One of them said. She sneered as she looked at me, obviously saying with her eyes, “You are nothing”. I calmly take the elves hand and lead him away from the others.
“Don’t you worry little one, they won’t bother you again.” I say as I pat him on the head, and give him a nudge towards others of his own kind and age.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:
I slowly pick up his coins and looks into his eyes as I help him up. He looks gratefully at me, as he grabs his walking stick. He nods at me as he walks away, looking behind him, to make sure its not a trick. I smile as he walks towards a small house. The doors open up as two small kids, about 3, run up and jump into his arms. He hands the coins to a tired looking mother. He speaks quietly into her ears and looks my direction. She smiles politely waving her hands, inviting me inside. I laugh and nod my head no. I see one gold coin that he forgot on the ground. I look at the smiling family and pick up the coin. I hold it up to them but they motion for me to keep it. I look back as I slowly climb the trees, thinking that maybe humans and Elves really are friends.

Answer: I nod my head. Haggling was like gambling, and it wouldn’t be wise to do that. Gambling is luck, which I didn’t believe in. Life is about skills, not luck, sure it’s nice to be lucky but I wouldn’t waste the last of my money. I slowly walk towards the guy with the coins in my pocket making a jingling sound. I open it up and hand him 2 coins.
“I’ll take that bread and cheese.”
“So, you want to haggle or what?” He gives me a sly grin and points toward the objects.”
“No”, I say calmly, “I don’t believe in gambling.” He looks at me for a moment, then grabs the objects and places them into my waiting hand.
“Have a good day now then.” I grab them as he mumbles about how Elves never want to have fun.

Her family always tried to hide her ears in a hoodie or something like that and let none of the locals see them. They were very scared that someone would see her ears. İf something like that happend everyone would avoid her and hate her. But İlumcelia was a baby and wanted to understand why they did that, since she was a baby and didn't understand it was almost impossible.

When İlumcelia was big enough to walk and eat by herself, her mother started to teach her the wonders about nature , animals and Asulon. İlumcelia was quite smart and understood her very well. Once she started learning about the nature, animals and Asulon she felt smarter and felt an interest in what her mother mentioned. She felt close to the animals  and found out about her talent with animals . She felt very close to them and understood them.Later on she wanted to explore Asulon and started learning how to survive in the wild by herself.

When she grew into a teenager her father taught her how to use a bow and a sword. She felt brave while fighting. But she wasn't very good at it. Sometime later when she was training with her father, a message came to her house. İt wrote that the beacon in Asulon was destroyed and they needed help, so İlumcelia's father went to the war. After that happend İlumcelia started training by herself. She didn't master her skill but she was good enough to leave home. A few days later a message came to her house. İt said that her father died in war. She felt deep pain in her but stood brave. She told her mother that she was big enough to leave the house now and packed her stuff. Her mother gave her a Mystical stone that would keep her safe and said goodbye. A few moments later something smashed through the door. İt was the enemy . İlumcelia's mother told her to run away but she refused. Since her fighting skill wasn't so good she couldn't save her mother. When she saw her mother dead on the floor, she felt more pain then her mother did. She ran into the jungle where no one could see her.İlumcelia fell on to a bit of dirt and got dirty. She stood up.She was saved, but what about her her mother and father? she seeked revenge and swore that she would always be on the good side. The stone that her mother gave (the one on İlumcelia's shirt) always kept her safe. She went to Asulon to find a mate to fight with . (this is where the RP begins)

Character Name: Timothy Redwood
Character Race: Human
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Timothy Redwood is a 25 year old human. He is roughly 6 foot tall, he has blue eyes, short black hair and has a black beard covering his cheeks. He grew up in a northern village called Mjolnir in the northern lands of Asulon. Timothy had a strong bond with his mother but that bond was taken away from him when his mother died of the tient of when she escaped Aegis from the undead many years ago. We worked mostly on the farm with his father, Charles, and his sister, Jess. In Timothy's youth he lived quite a happy life, except from his mothers death, until the Orc's attacked his village.

When Timothy was 12 his village, Mjolnir, was attacked by a large group of vicious Orcs. Timothy was tending to the cows in the stable when he and his father heard screams coming from the village. Charles, Timothy's father, rushed outside and handed Timothy a short sword big enough to do damage but not to big enough so Timothy couldn't swing it. Of course at Timothy's young age he had no idea what to do, he had played with brooms to imitate sword fighting. Charles and Timothy ran down to the village as fast as they could, but Timothy stopped halfway. He heard the screams of his sister, Jess. Instead of joining his Father he attempted to help Jess out of a burning hut where the tolls were kept, but his efforts were in vain. A giant Orc came a pushed Timothy over and dragged him away. Timothy watched at his sister burned. The giant Orc dragging him was stabbed by Charles, and as Timothy looked up the Orc's were leaving the village with a lot of loot. Timothy realized that his father was wounded very badly, his father manged to whisper into Timothy's  ear: "My son, visit my brother in their village to the south. Take this map, it will lead to directly to it" After that sentence Timothy swore revenge against any Orc that seemed threatening.

Timothy went to his Uncles village and his Uncle, Alfred, took him in and taught him in the Art of Battle. It took Timothy 5 years to complete his training and become a village guard. It may sound bland but he was in charge of the village security.  Alfred taught Timothy how to smith and how to cook and how to chop tree's professionally so he could look after himself. Now at the age of 25 Timothy leave his Uncles village in search of a new adventure.

What are your characters ambitions?: To protect the innocent, and to fend off threatening Orcs.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?
I say: "Hello Dwarf, it make me sad to see that your people are in this state and mad that no one does anything about it. Here take some of my minas." I open my coin bang and give half of what is in there. "There you go, friend. Let me buy you some food and drink." Then I purchase him some food and some drink from a quality shop then I return the Dwarf back to his stand and carry on. I turn my back to ensure that he is safe.

I grab multiple rocks and throw them at the Orc's head then I throw one at his stomach then when he bends over because of the pain and knee him in the face and he is knocked out from the impact. I turn to the Dwarf:
"Are you hurt?" Dwarf replies: "No. Thanks to you I am okay as I was before he showed up." I then walk with the Dwarf to where he was going.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?:

I help the old man to a bench nearby, then I collect his minas and give them back to him. I then go shop to shop looking for a bigger and stronger moneybag and walking stick. I return to the old man and say:
"Here old man, a bigger and stronger walking stick to ensure you do not fall again. Also here is a brand new moneybag big enough to hold your coins so they do not fall out." I then walk him to where ever it is he is going.

This is my 3rd application. I hope you enjoy it Posted Image

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is when someone acts as someone he/she is not; Therefor taking on a new role.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: An

out of character action using knowledge that the Character

isn't/shouldn't be aware of. E.g: Super Mario knowing that he was made

by Nintendo and is in a game.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting

is where you forcefully tell someone what you have done to them in

role-play without their concent. E.g: Say if in real life you were out

of the blue you were playing Cowboys with your best friend and your

friend suddenly says
"Pew

pew! I shot you! Your dead!" You would the reply "No you didn't" This

is an example of Power-Emoting. An efficient way of getting around this

is to say: "Pew pew! I'm trying to shoot you" You would then reply "I

quickly dodged your bullets by rolling out of the way" The game can then

get on without any cheats or arguments

Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell
his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor
dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? "Poor Dwarf it pains me to see your race in this state.

You mighty metal workers
were always the ones with the money. Here have some minas for you and
your family and change your life."

I give the Dwarf half the money I have in my purse.

"It is the least I can do"

The Dwarf looks at me confused "But I am not a begger?"

I return with "I know this Dwarf, but I fear If I do not help you know you may become one!"

I turn my back whilst
looking over my shoulder at the Dwarf to see if he is still okay. He
smiles at me, I turn my head, then walk on..

You’re
wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to
threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation
looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character
do?

I run up to the big Orc and shout at him "Pick on someone your own size"
The Orc returns with a blow to my head. I fall to the ground! But quickly I jump back up to my feet. I throw a punch at the Orc but his great arms block my attempts. Dazed and confused with my head spinning the Orc takes his chance and builds power up in his arm and swings for my head! He succeeds and I fall to the ground. My head bangs as it hits the floor.
The Orc laughs and says "I expected more" as he walks away.
I wake up a week later in a healers cabin, They told me a short stranger baught me he and payed all the fees.
When I'm ready to leave I thank the Healers and continue my journey

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old

he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As
you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless
man. What does your character do?: Feeling simpathy for the man I ask "Oh gosh! Are you okay? let me help you."
"No no, that isn't necessary" The Man replies. I Ignore
him and pick up all his money and return it to him. I then dash about
and look for something for him to use as a walking stick... But my
efforts fail. So I help the man to Malinor and buy him a new walking
stick "This should last you" I say
. I then find the nearest inn for the weak man to stay in. I
pay the Inn keeper enough minas for 1 night. As i'm walking out of the
door the frail man shouts "Thanks a lot!" I greatfully
and greedily accept his payment and continue my adventure to Malinor

Okay seriously this is getting tedious, I really want to get onto this server and everytime I get denied I change what you guys say to change... Then get denied again.

Anyway thankyou for reading my app again hopefully I get accepted

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:Roleplaying is when you play as a completely different character, you picture yourself as that character and what he/she would do and you get to take that character and mould it into your own creation.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:Meta-gaming is when you take out-of-game information and apply it into the game to influence your characters decisions. It’s also not in roleplay, which doesn’t make it that fun when somebody does do this.

In-Character Details

Character Name: Telgur
Character Race: Elf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:   Telgur is a Wood Elf who has brown hair and eyes, and always wore a hood to cover the giant scar at the back of his neck. He was born in a very small village east of Malinor with only 13 people in it. He was always training with his father to become the best archer that he could. When he was 21 years old he became an exceptional shot with a bow and could very well defend his village from bandit attacks. One day while Telgur and his mother were caring for their sacred tree in the middle of the village they were indeed attacked by bandits. The bandits had broken down the first layer of the small, village wall just before the people of the village came out and started to shoot the bandits. During a raid, Telgur was caught and captured and he was shackled to a wall, he used rocks to file his shackles off and he had to sneak out without the bandits knowing. There was a broken path which was not guarded; he had to jump from stone to stone with such grace and elegance. On the last stone he cleared the jump but three bandits were coming back from a raid on a camp, the bandits turn and saw Telgur they tried to slash him with their swords. Telgur rolled out of the way but one of the bandits took one last slash before Telgur started to sprint and cut him deeply on the back of his neck.  On his return back to his village Telgur was greeted warmly by his family and friends, they all asked what was wrong with his neck as he collapsed on the cold stone walkway and he was taken into his aunt’s house, (His aunt was the only doctor) they sewed the cut but he had a very large scar there later that night he thought “If I could escape from a bandit prison at this age, I think I’ll be fine as an adventurer”. On that thought, two weeks later Telgur said his goodbyes, packed his precious bow that his father made him when he was young, and a fine sharpened iron sword and some food and torches for the journey.

What are your characters ambitions?:To start his own village and become one of the greatest archers in all of the land of Auslon.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: http://imgur.com/JYPz2x0
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: He is an excellent archer and very swift, agile and clever.

“Hello kind sir” I say softly to the dwarf. “Ello’ sir, may I interest you in any of these items I have?” The dwarf says excitedly, showing a bow, stone sword and pickaxe along with some iron ingots and coal. “Hmm let’s see what you have here.” I say interested. “How many minas would it cost for the bow and 5 pieces of coal?” I say still looking at the items. “54 minas for all of the items together, but I would greatly appreciate it if you threw in a few extra minas so that I could stay at the inn tonight” The dwarf says with a happy expression on his face. “Okay, for you kind sir, I’ll give you 60 minas for your finely crafted bow and coal” I say with a little feeling of selflessness. “Oh my, thank you ever so kind, kind sir!” The dwarf says very excitedly. “No problem friend, I hope you can get a home in the city very soon.” I say while walking down the street.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? “Stop! What are you doing to this poor man?” I say shouting. “Dis man not be paying me my minas” The Orc says while holding the dwarf by his collar. “How much did this man owe you?” I say looking in my pocket. “40, no, uhhhhhh I think 54 minas dis dwarf owed me.” The Orc says lowering the dwarf to the ground. “I would gladly pay off this man’s debt if you let him go this instant.” I say with the minas in my hand. “Oh! Mokay I let dis man go!” The Orc says staring deeply into my hand. “Here take them.” I say tossing the minas in front of him. “Are you alright?” I say taking the dwarf away from the Orc. “Yes, thank you very much for helping me out there, I just didn’t have enough. Here take 10 minas from me as my repayment, it’s all I have that I can give away.” The dwarf says extending his arm out with the minas in his hand. “Thank you, try to be more careful when making deals with some Orcs, they can be very dangerous at times.” I say taking the minas from the dwarfs hand and walking away after that.

What does your character do?: “Are you alright?!” I say running quickly over to the old man’s aid. “Ahh I think I hurt my legs but I’ll be fine if I can get a new walking stick” The man says as I guide him to sit down and scoop up his minas back in his bag, handing it to him. “I think I can get you a new one just sit here and wait for a few minutes as I find some logs” I say looking around for trees, finding a good one and chopping it down. I bring the log back to where the man is sitting. ”Here I think I found a sturdy piece of log for a new walking stick” I say taking out a knife and carving it down. “Oh my, thank you very much I appreciate your kindness in helping an old man” The man says with a big smile on his face. “Okay, I think it’s just about done” I say doing the finishing touches on the walking stick and handing to the man. He takes it from me and begins walking down the road again.

____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Stay out of harm's way, I am in no position to challenge this, nor will anybody listen to me. I will carry on and mind my own business, do not want to be hurt or put in danger. I will go somewhere else where trouble may not be present, and pretend like nothing has happend.

Answer: I hide in the shrubs before the clearing and watch as the story unfolds, waiting to see what happends, wondering if the bandits destroy this old man and planning to take what they leave behind for myself, hoping that no one would ever catch me.

Answer: I would like a loaf of bread sir, "hmm" says the man "how much are you willing to pay". I say " I would like to know first what you are asking and I'll tell you if I could afford". The man says "10 Coins" minium . " I only have five" i say, But i really have 20 coins. The man is curious if I am telling the truth or not. "well" he says " I guess you can by half a loaf", I disagree and say " 5 Coins for 3/4 and its a deal". The man agrees and i get my bread to feed me the day.

(I don't know the economy oif the server so i just said 10 coins to explain the conversation)

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
During her childhood, Elibar’Maehr Emberwood lived with her parents in Malinor, learning all she could about High elven culture. Her parents, Malwen and Annith seemed to be proud upstanding members of society, and were determined for her to be the same. Because of this, she is very conscious of herself when interacting with other races. When she was only 70, her parents were convicted of beconing too friendly to a Bortu, and as a result were banished to the harbour district to live with the other races. Elibar’Maehr was then sent to live with her aunt in Haelun’or.

She enjoys debating and would prefer a battle of wit to combat any day, but will defend herself if necessary using her skills with the bow. Elibar’Maehr dresses elegantly at all times but is unusual in the fact that she dyes her hair blue, as a sign of self expression and as a symbol of her connection to nature. 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react? Answer: I hide behind a tree to have a look at the scene, as I peek around the trunk I see three particular high elves, these three, Cay’leh, Taelya and Raea are well known for their superior attitude and enjoyment of picking on those lower than them. Although I feel that they shouldn’t be mocking the wood elf, if I stepped in, I would likely have been mocked as well. I quickly skirt around the area and continue on my way, but can’t help feeling guilty for not helping the poor Mali’ame child.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenceless - what do you do? Answer: Ever conscious of my High elf status, I begin to help pick up the old man’s money and give it back to him “T-thank y-y-you” he mutters, attempting to stand back up. As I help him up, I ask him where he is going; he replies “I'm going to the harbour district to visit some friends of mine, Malwen and Annith. Taken aback by this, I ask him to tell them their daughter is okay, and then quickly send him on his way. Once I’m alone I start sobbing quietly, wishing I could see them again.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include: - item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Once I spotted the small carriage, I became excited, my parents used to take me to places like these. “Karin’ayla Mali’ame!” I greet the trader. “Would you like to buy something Mali? My carriage sells just about anything!” He boasts. As I start looking through his wares, I spot a small amethyst necklace. Amethyst. My mother’s favourite stone. “How much for this?” I ask, glad that I found the dainty item. “100 minas” he says “although I am willing to haggle”. “would I be able to have it for 50?” I ask. The wood elf, seeing that I’m desperate for this necklace, says “What about 70? That's the best I can do today”. “Okay, fine” I say “Van’ayla Mali’ame, nice doing business with you”

Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is assuming the role of another character and acting like how they are supposed to act.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is using information you know OOC to unfairly benefit your IC person. An example:
A: ((What is your character's weakness?))
B: ((A blow to the stomach.))
A: I will kill you!
A: /* punches B in the stomach
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting (or power-gaming) is using godlike powers/emotes IC so that he/she dominates everyone else; power-emoting does not give another character to respond or retaliate. An example:
A: /* creates Potion of Invulnerability Infinity out of thin air
A: /* summons 10,000 nukes to this area, killing everyone here except myself because I'm invulnerable forever
(However, it does not necessarily have to be godlike; it can just be unfair to other people.)

In-Character Details

Character Name: Gerould Cahill
Character Race: Human
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Gerould Cahill’s Introduction

Gerould Cahill was born in Ager, a small peasant village in the Holy Oren Empire. He and his family are all human Southerons, except for his mother’s father’s side, who were Northerners. His parents’ names were Vera and Hobbes Cahill, and his now-dead brother was called Walter. Gerould was born with blue eyes, dark hair and a tanned complexion. However, as he grew up in Arethor, his skin eventually lightened. He is now 24 years old, 6"2 tall and weighs 137 lbs.

Gerould is naturally suspicious of everyone around him, but is extremely loyal to his friends. Because of this, he only has a few friends, but they’re very close to him. However, this is also his weakness as he makes friends at a slower rate than others (unless they ‘bribe’ him) and makes more enemies than friends. Gerould, like most Southerons, is more brainy than brawny, and uses his intelligence to help himself or other people get out of trouble. He often doesn’t look for a fight, unless it’s just a sparring match or if he doesn’t have a choice (like if he or someone else is in danger).

Gerould’s Early Life

Gerould and his family, like most of the others in Ager, worked on the farmlands every day. He began working at the age of 7, but it was mostly simple tasks like carrying produce back to their farmhouse or planting a few crops. When he wasn’t working he read books at home (albeit simple ones), or played with his older brother Walter, who was 3 years older than him. Walter was the troublemaker in his family, while Gerould was the quieter, shyer one.

One day, Walter took it too far. He and Gerould were out at night, having nothing better to do (except for Gerould, who would much prefer to lie down and read). They were now 17 and 14. Walter chose to go near the pub, despite Gerould’s efforts to stop him. He followed helplessly, wondering what was going to happen.

They saw the village drunkard hobble into an alley, and Walter decided to take his bottle of ale on the ledge just outside the pub. He took a big swig and offered some to his brother. Gerould protested that he was too young, and so was Walter. He snatched the bottle away from him and accidentally dropped it on the ground, smashing it and watched the ale from a puddle.

"Jus’ what d’ye thik yer doin’, eh? Hic!" A mean voice sounded out behind them. The boys turned fearfully around, wondering who it could be. But Gerould knew in a second that it was the owner of the ale bottle.
"So ye stol’ me drink, did ya? Think ye can git ‘way with dis, did ya?" The drunken man lunged at Walter, but he parried the attack with a hook to the head. At first Walter had the upper hand in the fight (he is, after all, still sober), but the drunk person grabbed a big shard of the broken bottle and, by chance, managed to stab Walter in his temple. He fell, with a wide eyed look on his face before resting in peace.

All of this happened while Gerould just stood there, paralyzed by fear and uncertainty. This event would forever be imprinted in his memory.
"G’wan! G’wan or I git ya too!" Gerould stared at the body, its blood mixing with the ale on the dirt. He continued staring for a few more seconds, and ran, ran for his life while glancing everywhere; now always wary of his surroundings.

Gerould’s Late Life

Once Gerould returned home without his brother, his parents immediately had a worried look on their faces. He explained what happened and none of them had the chance to grieve. Fearing for their lives, they packed up what little belongings they had, and spent what little money they had on transport to Arethor.

As they were on the carriage, they were silent. They each shed tears at separate times for their loss of Walter, and slept after each fit of crying. However, Gerould made his major vow despite his sadness: He will always be observant, whether physically or mentally. He made a few more minor vows: He will read more sophisticated books. He will not forget his roots (where he came from, his life as a farmer etc.). Gerould, however, did not wish vengeance upon the drunkard; he is sure that he (the killer) is going to be punished for murder. He believes in law and order, just as the straightforward books told him to.

When they entered Arethor, they thanked the carriage-driver and carried their luggage with them. It was just the beginning of afternoon, so their first thought was to look for jobs, and a place to stay in. As luck would have it, there was a knight calling out for able-bodied men to join the militia.
"We’d like to join, sir," Hobbes (Gerould’s father) said to the knight. "We just arrived here, and we need jobs."
"You, maybe. But not the boy. We may need all the help we can get, but it’s the law. Go to them to apply," the knight directed them, with a pointed finger.
"But can’t he at least get a ‘prentishick, or whatever it’s called?"
The knight laughed. "Apprenticeship? Ha! You look like simple farm folk, he cannot get one when there are far more… refined young gentlemen around here, even if it’s to fight. Now, leave me before I change my mind and say no."

Hobbes scowled at this, and took his family near the long line of people waiting to be a part of the militia.
"Alright, I’m gonna go apply now. Gerould, you’re old enough to work, so go find some. You take care of each other now."
"But dad, what about what he said? How can I work here?"
"You’ll find something. Go look for a home; I don’t care if it’s small. I’ll visit both of you when I can. I’ll give you the money I earn when I do."
They kissed their goodbyes and Vera and Gerould went off to do as he asked. Gerould eventually had to just work on the farmlands outside Arethor, which he both welcomed and loathed, as it was a familiar and dirty job. He now did most of the work, with his mother helping him from time to time.

10 years later, Gerould has developed into an adept farmer and someone of above average intelligence. His intellect came from reading difficult books. During those 10 years, he has also been trained a little by his father in melee combat when he takes leave from the militia. Gerould also made a few close friends (within the decade) who were very trusting towards each other.

Of course, his progression was not without hardships. Gerould had trouble at the start of reading harder books, but ultimately understood their words and meanings as the years passed. When Hobbes was sparring with him with swords, he cut him quite deeply on the side of his shin (except it didn’t hit the bone), and caused a scar there. And when Gerould was 18, one of his friends betrayed another by reporting him for a minor crime. The ‘friend’ soon became ashamed and hanged himself.

With all of this, Gerould Cahill is looking for a new start. He left his parents, taking nothing with him but the knowledge of everything major that happened to him. Gerould is confident that he will survive and thrive in the world of Asulon, whether in a small way by being helpful to a few (of any race), or in a bigger way where he can help many.

What are your characters ambitions?: ‘Join’ the Holy Oren Empire and work his way up to a high rank; be loyal and helpful to said kingdom and the friends that he meets; help random people with good intentions (also to make money if he can); become more skilled at combat and farming.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Sorry, I don't know how to do this. Here's a description: He has dark brown hair; slightly pale and dark skin (mixed); blue eyes; brown coat with blue shirt underneath (I think) and a white one below that; brown pants; and black shoes.
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: As mentioned before, Gerould’s skin has paled because his grandmother’s Northerner genes kicked in (especially with the weather of Arethor) even though he’s 3/4 Southeron.

(Note: This is separate from when Gerould first arrived here when he was 14.)
I approach the dwarf cautiously, as I am always wary of those around me. I ask him what other things he is selling.
"Here are some fine swords, lad. 20 Minas for one. I'm also selling some axes 30 each."
"Your prices seem too steep," I declare. "Are you new here?"
"Why yes, and I would appreciate it if you could help me take care of my family," As he spoke, I felt my pockets full of coins. I suppose I could spend a few. "I'm just trying to make a living, as no one trusts a dwarf here."
I look around me. I see many other humans passing by, ignoring the dwarf's presence.
"Okay, I'll take two swords. You seem trustworthy." /* hands dwarf 40 Minas
"Thank you, kind human. You don't know how hard it is moving to a new place with unfriendly people everywhere."
I walk away and carry on about my business. I think to myself, "Believe me, dwarf, I do."

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
Bloody orc. He has no right to just bully anyone smaller than him. I'll teach him a lesson.
"Hey you! Pick on someone your own size!" I screamed at the orc.
"Mind your own business! I can do whatever I want, puny human!" I was shocked to hear those sentences come out of the dwarf, instead of the orc. What the hell's going on here?
"You see this little thing? He was insulting my kind. So I threatened to bash his skull in," the orc roared.
"Well you said that I was too little to be useful around here! I suggest you back off and go back to hell, where you belong."
The large, angry orc took out his mace, gave a blood-curdling cry and raised his mace. Before he could strike, the agile dwarf rolled next to the orc, kneed his leg and stuck his knife into the orc's hip.
I know when to back out. I could fight them or yell at them to stop if I wanted to, but there's no use.
I looked around me once again, and ran for it. I cursed myself later on for running in the wrong direction. When I returned to the place of the fight, they were gone. Hopefully there would be no more of this violent nonsense along the way, I thought to myself.

What does your character do?:
Looking around, I crouch down and help him pick up the money. He pockets them and says raspily,
"Thank you for your help. Had it not been you who was with me, it would have surely been one of those bandits that usually walk here."
"Bandits? I didn’t know that." His warning pushed me to glance around even more and in the future on this dark road.
"I must reward you for your kindness. Here’s some Minas.”
I always get whatever I can to survive in this world, as long as it’s obtained in a lawful way. So I thanked him back and took the money.
I walked on, casting a few glimpses behind me to check if he was okay (and if there was anyone else behind me).

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Roleplaying is the act of becoming a character within a fictional world and interact with it as if you were a part of it
Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is using outside information as a part of your playing experience. EG You can see the name of a character through the wall, while your character can't. By meta-gaming, you act as if you can see the player through the wall, even if it's not naturally possible. This messes up aspects of the roleplaying experience, and is against the rules
Power-emoting:  Power-emoting is taking control of the roleplaying experience such that you withdraw the control from other players. EG: Player 1 attacks Player 2, Player 2 dies. In this case, Player 1 didn't give any chance to allow Player 2 to change the course of the RP, thus power-emoting and ruining Player 2's experience. This is also against the rules

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Damin Spencer (no middle name)
Current Age: 19
Sub-race (if any): --
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

HERITAGE
Damin's father's side of the family were small-time farmers, exporting barely enough to earn a living. The farm itself goes back at least 2 generations, with his great-great grandparents having bought the land from the then-current barons with every scrap of money they had, hoping to create their dream into reality - to become farmers of the North. Though it never became a well-known farm - as farming in Northerner land was considered almost impossible - the family was always content with what they earnt.

His father Gordon Spencer, a true Northerner by heart - and body - was a hard worker, and had always done his best to keep the farm going, especially after his parents had become physically unable to. By 25, he was as strong as cattle, yet he still hadn’t found himself a partner in which to keep the Spencer line going. As the only male child - an only child - of the Spencer family, he was expected to hold traditions true and find a Northerner woman to marry, but his heart wasn’t held by one. Rather, it was a slender Southeron woman by the name of Elewin Treehart which held his attention. Having such a lithe build, while maintaining the trademark darkened skin, set his heart ablaze. When he had told his parents of this, they wanted nothing to do with it. They had always stuck with Northerners, and wouldn’t accept any Southeron for a daughter-in-law. Despite this, he had chased after her. It wasn’t easy, as despite appearance, the young woman was feisty in her attitudes and was seen to be able to hold her own when petty bandits tried to kidnap her. It was ages before she loved
him back, only swayed by his act of courage, rescuing her from orcs that got too close and caught her off-guard.

His parents, knowing full well the stubbornness that also ran through the Spencer line, had shunned the couple as opposed to trying to stop them. They could do nothing about them, however, as the line would end without this marriage, so they had to accept the abominable relationship and allow them the inheritance of the farm. The couple wound up with 3 children, each having a blend of Northerner and Southeron in them. One of them was Damin.

EARLY YEARS
Though his brother and sister inherited the well-tanned Southeron skin, he was left with pale, Northerner skin, though his build was definitely lithe like the southern people. This left him with
troubles working around the farm, as while his siblings were well built for it, he couldn’t endure much during his tender ages. This often left him with simpler jobs, which led to bouts of spare time. During this time, he had developed a passion for sword-fighting. So much so, that he had even set up a secret test dummy and made a stick sword - secret because his family believed in only working for the farm. At first, he couldn’t last long, due to his poor endurance, but he began to get stronger, which became a mystery to the rest of the family, except to his mother, who had always known that he would inherit her own passion...

By the age of 15, his strength and endurance had been developed to the point that it was on-par with his siblings. Every time he was asked about it, he would simply say, “Guess I got some of the Northerner’s strength after all,” and continue working alongside. Though his time was reduced - beginning to work more on the farm - he was happy enough that his father was more accepting of him. Whether it was because he had started to help out more, or because he and his siblings had begun to blossom into adulthood, the farm had begun to deliver more fruitions than before. It made the family ecstatic to know that their work was actually paying off. With this, work at the farm was no longer as time-consuming, which then lead to Damin being able to practice more again. His father had begun to notice his going aways and couldn’t keep by himself, not knowing where one of his children were wandering off to.

His mother, knowing full well that Gordon would become aggressive if he found out - believing that the farm should be their life - decided to take the situation into her own hands. Comforting him that Damin was only doing other things for the farm, Elewin went off to interrupt one of Damin’s practice sessions (she had known where he had been heading off to, having a perceptive eye). When he saw her, Damin though it was over and that he was going to be in so much trouble, but his mother had instead lead him to her own room. Along the walk, she spoke to him of her own passions and the adventures she used to have. She also told him that there was a gift waiting for him. Damin was barely able to contain his excitement: Who knew that his mother used to be an adventurer?

Once they had entered her room, Elewin had open a chest full of her own prized possessions. Amongst the mess, she picked up a slender object. In her hands lay an elven sword, inscribed with words only those proficient in elvish would know. Damin couldn’t possibly hold on much longer. The sword was given as a gift to him, as the mother told him that Damin would be able to use it, and that she could not wander off again with the farm tying her down. It was better than any birthday gift could ever be, and he dashed off to his hideout to practice with his new sword. Neither of them knew that Gordon had been watching the whole time.

With his new sword, dubbed Horen - after the founder of the human race - Damin ferverly practice. Though the strength and skill gained from practicing with wood aided him, a sword of metal - even one by the elves - was a bigger struggle. Despite the initial troubles, he continued to practice in hopes of being able to adventure one day like his own mother. Outside of practicing, he continued to help out with the farm, still producing plenty for the family, but Gordon noticed his lack of effort. He had to find out what he was doing in his spare time, else he’d worry that Damin would start to slack off and the farm would cease to do as well.

LAST DAYS AT THE FARM
This day was one that Damin would never forget. Gordon had finally gotten off and followed Damin while he travelled to practice again. At first, he noticed nothing wrong, but he then realised what had been happening all these years after seeing the place his son had been heading to every opportunity he had: A makeshift training area, with broken sticks and bruised up logs. The centre piece of it all was a beat-up dummy, presumably what Damin had been practicing on. The ferocity that he felt that day would only be shadowed by what happened in response. When Gordons shadow caught onto Damin, he whirled around, to catch his father towering over him, with a nasty snarl on his face. He dropped the sword, and a loud clang resounded. Before Gordon could dash to his son and beat the living hell out of him, his wife yelled out. She tried to convince him that it was her that told Damin to practice with every opportunity, in hopes that he could continue living her dream out. Gordon would have nothing to do with it, and back-handed Elewin with such force that she smashed a nearby tree and left a harsh dent in it. Damin then lost control. He couldn’t see his mother get beaten and let it go unpunished. He re-equipped the elven blade and proceeded to pierce his father through the stomach. Only afterwards did he realise what had just happened, and ran off with such speed. His mother, never once realising that such a thing could happen, stared at Damin with disbelief until he disappeared into the woods.

NOW
“I don’t deserve to live anymore,” was a recurring thought for Damin for the next years. Despite holding such guilt on his consciousness, he couldn’t let go of his mothers sword, so it was left in its sheath even ‘till now. He only had the clothes on his back and was without change, which meant food and water was a struggle. Having developed the skill through his practicing, he created another wooden sword to use for defending himself and worked as a mercenary to ensure he at least survived.

Ambitions for the Future: He wants to be a world-renowned swordsman and big-time adventurer, like he believe his mother was. He also wants to find the biggest and best swords. He also wants someone to invent a sword-cannon, but that’s one of his more unusual dreams

Personality: Normally, he has a burning passion for sword-fighting and will often go on and on about it. He is a hard-worker, being brought up at a farm, is always looking for adventure and often seeking glory. His stubbornness can only be compared to a dwarf and will often be rash in the heat of the moment. When something unusual happens, most times he’ll just pass it off, but there are times where he’ll over-think it and think something worse is going to happen when it’s not. When he’s reminded of his family and the events surrounding his father, he will retreat into a depressive state. He won’t want to talk about anything and will want to be left alone. If you get too close, he’ll lash out and cause it to become worse. The only way to take him out of it is to leave it be and go on as normal.

Skills: Though he can hit hard due to built up muscle, he doesn’t have much fighting skill outside of swordplay. He has developed a reasonable skill for woodworking, but he only uses it to ensure he always has a sword by his side. He’s also 5’6”, which allows him to move a little faster around enemies.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Being 19, he still has a young figure, but his muscles are well-defined as a result of constant practicing (and traces of Northerner). His legs are built for agility - allowing him to pull off complex sword maneuvers - but can easily be outrun as his muscles can often slow him down. His skin is fairly pale and refuses to darken except under the most intense sun. As he hasn’t been able to buy new clothes, he still retains a simple, ragged linen shirt and torn-up linen pants. His eyes are like most, except he has the strangest colour: Brown so dark, it’s black. His hair, having been unkempt, is a dirty-brown, rough and draws down to his upper-back. He wears no footwear except any cloth that he happens to find, which leads to trouble when walking long distances. He also has a small, leather backpack made of untanned leftovers from the farm. His elven sword pokes out the top of it

Any other details you wish to share about your character: He has an elven sword always with him, but he never uses it due to his emotional baggage. Instead, he wields a trusty wooden sword that, when it breaks, he can simply make another out of scrap wood.  He also has a weird thing for carrots (when they’re not chopped up)

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Damin sees the unusual man sneakily approaching the Emperor's palace, his feet making no noise. I wonder what he's up to... Damin thinks, as he begins to turn, trying to find the next person to hire him. At the corner of his eyes, he notices something unusual about the dark man: a small glint reflecting of a well-concealed dagger. That can't be right. Maybe he's trying to assassinate someone! Damin yells out to the guard and notifies them of the shadowy man. He's almost expecting them to draw out their blades and arrest the man, but they instead yell back, "He's no stranger. Simply someone requested by a member of the Emperor's council. Next time, mind your own business!" Damin, taken aback by the guards attitude, was tempted to beat him up. He knew better though, so he shrugged it off and thought, At least I tried. He trudged off and continued what he was doing before.

Answer: I thought I was supposed to find a man of great importance, not an oldie and two bandi--It occurred to him that the man was being threatened and might not be able to hold himself off. He began to dash as fast as he could to protect the enderly, when he noticed that the bandits were being fended off. What was once just an elderly man stood another, younger man, equipped with the iron sword that the old man had hin his hands just before. With such ferocious slashing and lightning-quick motions, the bandits ran off quick in hopes to survive. Damin approached the cottage, and the 2 men spotted him. "Be you friend or foe?" requested the younger man, his sword raised. "I be friend. Do you happen to be Sanwell?" Damin had replied, hoping this was the man he was after. He immediately relaxed, and called out, "I am. You must be the mercenary I was told about, but you seem younger than I expected. No matter, come in. We have business to attend to."

Answer: "Ho, good sir," the small man shouted out, "if goods be what you need, I have them! Anything from a small beed for your woman to a full-boar for the roast" Damin noticed this, and thought, I do need to replenish my sword, and my carving knife and chisel is blunt again. He approached the colourful store, spotting an assortment of goods: Necklaces adorned with teeth from animals, an apple pealer with a handle made of wood, a spice rack and more. "Store owner, is there, perchance, that you would have a carving knife?" He simply smiled and nodded. "Of course. This store has anything that a person could need!" He then rummaged underneath the stall and produced a small blade, with a simple handle and dull colouring. I should've known, Damin thought, he might have all sorts of goods, but that doesn't mean they'll be good. He sighed and accepted that was the best he'd get. "Do you also happen to have a mid-sized chisel for sale?" The man smiled again, and retrieved a chisel, only this one was in better condition. "What will you pay up?" the small man asked. Damin rummaged through his pockets and counted 16 minas. I may need food, Damin thought, but I need my sword more. Still, I'll try to get it for low. "Is 10 minas good enough?" The man laughed a hearty laugh, even though he was almost the size of a halfling. "I cannot sell you these ware for only 10 minas. 25 minas, and they're yours" Damin was furious at the price "13 minas, and that's as high as I can go," The small man noticed the tone in Damin's voice, and he simply sighed. "Agression will get you nowhere, young man. I suppose I can let you buy it elseway. I hear you're a mercenary."

Damin was a bit surprised at him knowing this. This is a pleasant surprise. I wonder what kind of job he would need done? “Where did you come of this?” The man laughed again, which begun to irritate Damin. “I happen to know a person who hired you. He said only good things about you, so perhaps you could help me out?” Damin was always up for a task. “As long as I can get the carving knife and chisel first, I’ll help you out.” “If you give me 10 minas, which I’ll give back after the job, they’re all yours.” Damin was reluctant, until he added, “insurance, you know. First rule in the shop business is to trust no-one.” He finally accepted, paid the 10 minas, and followed the man to a hatch behind the stall. After they opened it up, and jumped down, the stall holder spoke of the mission.
