Welcome to my post apocalyptic city scenario! Resources are highly scarce, so thriving here is done by looting, raiding, and repairing your city's ruins!
How to play:
The objective is similar to regular survival, except you progress off the ruins of an abandoned city. Search residences for food, weapons, tools, and armor.
Next you gear up and attack fortified buildings to take large scale loots, and equipment that allows you to make your own resources once again.
You can earn shelter, mining equipment, farming equpiment, and wood in order to rebuild from looting fortified buildings. Next, head to the desert neighboring the towns, and take on the puzzles found in order to make your way to the end dimension.
Minecraft version
Made for 1.2.5, but will work as long as it's 1.9pre5 or later.
Updates are set up for latest full version; Weekly snapshots may bring an altered gameplay
The texture pack currently features unupdated textures, but for the most part you will not see any blocks with missing textures

Update log
4/19/12 - 1_6 - Sunset Broadcast
• New Radio Broadcast tower
• Small middle aged style castle under museum property
• Urban areas improved, new buildings, and smoother transition to LA Remake and older urban section.
• Generator changed to superflat, no generator structures. This results in no need for any rules in vanilla, since leaving the boundaries (only rule ever had) will not benefit you significantly.
2/18/12 - 1_5 - North Costa Bosque
? Merged PHS with my Enderdragon Battle Map replacing the end dimension with a (mostly) fully destructible enviornment to the enderdragon, along with relief to most resource scarcity problems if you can get them back to the overworld
? New underground tunnel housing another NPC hideout
? Removed all easy to find wood once again
? Removed crafting tables from Mini LA
? Bases now include hints to reaching the end
1/30/12 - 1_4 - Mini LA
? Added new section, a scale remake of areas including and surrounding The US Bank Tower in LA, CA.
? Changed the rule of you won't find wood until a specific time is done. There is now (minimal) wood accessible before finding the main source of wood
? New Goals added
? Same all around tweaks
? Pointless in game play, but scenic and corresponding to the map's future- Non Agressive survivor camp
? Larger game world
? New Southern District
? Infested shopping mall
? Dam-based town
? Freeway keeping the southern district together
? New overhead map style
? End is fixed
? New Challenges
? Ability to update old map version without restarting
? Text files were fixed up (tester one removed, names updated. 'Time Apocalypse' was the original name for people confused by this.)
11/30/11 - 1_1 - Seaside Refinery http://adf.ly/3xayT
? New buildings + smaller structures
- Including a small scale remake of a French hotel located near 4th street, Los Angles
? Less inaccessible caves for a tiny tiny drop in rendering
? Buildings more labeled
? "Alternate" way to raid the seaside refinery (The smaller factory - that's it's name now)
? Gradual increase in the Western side being dangerous
? Tweaks here and there all over the map in loot, mob spawning (oh yes it increased,) reaching the end takes a couple extra steps.
11/28/11 - 1.0.0 - Release http://adf.ly/3vf3B
? 2 Sections, East and West.
? City, suburbs, and wasteland
? Raid-able strongholds

I'm trying this out now. Hopefully this will be alot of fun. I would like to ask what is the full objective of the map, is it just to go through all of it or is it to collect important things?

Thanks for downloading, hope you do have fun. You can play through with the regular mine craft objective of killing the dragon, as everything is set up for you to need to progress through looting to reach the end. I also made a document inside the save folder that has challenges ranging from easy to difficult
This looks like a pretty nice survival map! I'll tell you what i think of it once i test it out!
Holy Crap! pretty hard to completely finish, and when i went into the end portal after putting the rest of the ender eyes in them, i was transported into the normal world, FAR away from the map, plus the sky was all grainy just like the end.. :blink.gif: But i think that its a great map. i had to backup a couple saves because of creepers destroying all of my stuff (and there's NO trees anywhere, so that was tough) ...sorry for rambling a bit...all in all, awesome first attempt at a survival map! ill be watchin for more maps from you in the future! :smile.gif:
Content: 4/5 -1 Iron sword and +10 lvls due to the magma cubes... I swear it was day when they spawned! Maybe a bit bigger??? Felt the city was pretty small.
Difficulty: 5/5 Optionable loot that would help but isn't really needed, so hardcore and softcore players can play.
Fun or not?: 4/5 I enjoyed this quite a bit, but I don't like the bedrock EVERWHERE idea, maybe just a few stone areas?
Replayability: Yes, but more content would be good every few weeks.
Newb Friendly: 5/5 Tells you how to get out of the spawn helpfully, and reminds a few times on the key points to survival.
Dungeons/"Fortified Buildings": 3/5 Rather short, so far not too rewarding, not that many due to small world.
Items: 3/5 I still don't have a pick or wood.
FINAL SCORE: 3.5/5 For the first version. Pretty good!

heh thanks been enjoying this gif. For a second after I read ham I was wondering how I'm supposed to connect to a ham radio, so now that I caught on finally, yea I can probably connect to the hamachi

Posting with review. Soon.
EDIT: Btw, don't use ad.fly unless you have over 500 DLs, that means it's popular enough to ACTUALLY make you cash.

Thanks for the review! I do plan to update, and will look into improving the dungeons. You can find wood
Glad you liked it, I'll likely update in a few adys
Yeah, and
9 Ds. I saw them after I pyro'd it. Burning fish smells/sounds good!
Can't go wrong with incinerating those dam things... I don't know how they manage to make me jump so bad yet be so tiny
If you can make a Hamachi/PF'ed server I could help you. I make survivals too and I could make some cool compounds.
sounds cool, though I don't know much about mc servers, I might need a bit of help there
Yes, I can run a hamachi server, but it would require me to DL your current map, you connect to my ham, we work on it, and then you DL it off me.
Btw, nice new avatar xD
