IDK, it worked when I posted it.

Maybe we should mention seeds breaking with every biome change? With old biome system adding/removing a biome would not break the seeds as much. It will replace some biomes with the new one, while the other ones will generate as before. Now every added biome changes all other ones too.

Hmm, interesting. That's why there is that hidden DEFAULT_1_1 world type? Worth adding.

Would you see it as done? How would you react if you got sent this letter?

I would probably say "Damnit, they sent it to the wrong address!", but that's just me. I like it, but i'm not sure about the "we are not hopelessly spamming" part. Yes, I know why it was put there, but it just seems... odd.

I will only consider it to be done once ChaosGuardian says it is. But so far, it seems very convincing, and gives me high hopes that Mojang will pay attention to this issue in a future update. If I got the letter, I would be like "Hey. I wasn't the one who screwed up the terrain."

Tbh, I think caves became much more exciting after 1.7.3. Usually before 1.7.3 there would be small tunnels which would always lead to a dead end fairly quickly. Sure, occasionally caves would lead pretty far but not very often. Post beta, caves seemed much more fun and exciting to explore. I really don't see why people are saying ravenes got old pretty fast, I always love exploring ravines when I find them and it'd be a huge shame if they were taken out. But that's my opinion.

That letter was really good. I liked the fact that you actually showed them images comparing 1.7.3 to post 1.8. The only thing I would like to see added to it though, would be some subtitles so that it doesn't change the topic so abruptly. Besides that, I think it's perfect.

"not much has happened except for Dinnerbone replying directly to this topic"

Um, way to downstate that someone from Mojang directly replied.

And a very vague and indirect reply sir!

And one that pretty much meant nothing. "Oh, we'll make terrain sliders so that people can tailor their worlds to their liking and have fun with the terrain!" *sees my reply* "Oh, it's not for them then."

Thus ends all word on the topic from Mojang.

I joined mine craft in 1.1 so never got to experience the old generation but hearing from older players and watching many play through i think that the old generation is MUCH better in almost ALL aspects, the only place i think it should be changed is the caves, caves should be long like they are now and almost endless it makes them slightly more fun to explore.

Well... finally changed it. What do you think about it now?

Good letter. I'm wondering if for the intro you just need to present your proposal in a businesslike fashion. ie, many players are concerned that the terrain generation in the game isn't as good as it could be ...we would like to point the areas that seem to be a step backward in our opinion from other terrain generation versions..

When it says, "to talk about possible solutions to improve the terrain generation" Does mojang think there is a problem with terrain? Do you need to point out the deficiencies of the current terrain system before you offer solutions?

The spam remark seems kind of defensive. And combined with we feel that the Minecraft team is truly unreachable for us using other ways... makes the paragraph seems to scream hey listen to us. Just my opinion, I don't really know the background of all this or the people.

Hmm, so the poll went gone again? Time to inform a site admin about it so you guys can stop saying "Poll is broken" as it is off-topic.
