I've already portforwarded, (used a static ip)and all of that stuff, and my server won't work right. I allowed my minecraft server software through the firewall too. I can join my own server and play it fine, but my friend cannot join it. I used PFportchecker to check my port 25565, and it was open. I have the latest version of the minecraft server. Please help me and I will post the IP here when I set it up correctly.
I started it again today, same exact thing, same settings, everything's gone wrong. If I place a block, it disappears as soon as I place it, and I cannot destroy blocks. This is horrible. Please help me fix this additional problem! 's and and if you do. (you get these on my server)

192.168.1.150 it's up right now.
well for one that Ip address is for your internal network, only people on your internal network can use that to connect. We would need your external IP (given by your ISP) to be able to connect. can try whatismyip.com to get that information. Also you need to make sure you are set for op status in your sever files. If your not set to be an op then you wont be able to do anything within a certian radius of the spawn point.

So, it would change every time I start it?

So that means I will have to redo my port forwarding?

You port forward the internal ip of the computer hosting the server. You give out the ip given to you by your ISP. In your server prop file, the server ip should be the same as the ip of the computer hosting the server (internal network ip).
Unless your ISP is changing your IP address daily you wouldn't need to reset everything each time. I have only once in my lifetime seen an ISP change someones IP address each day. You usally get the same IP address for a long time.

Great. Now, test it out? I need a person to test. Start your minecraft.
Worked, but I need you to connect to that ip, you are someone out of my network. If it works, I will give you a stack of diamonds (currency) a stack of iron bars (currency) and a stack of gold bars (currency)
The problem is, I never got ANYBODY to get on it in the first place. It just won't work :sad.gif:
Whats the ip for the server?
192.168.1.150 it's up right now.
EDIT: Problem fixed.
