Hey guys ive enchanted pickaxes at levels 38 and 41 and both got me just Efficiency III.  What is the best level to enchant at to get Silk Touch?  Could you guys tell me what levels you got Silk Touch at too?  Thanks

The best way to get Silk Touch is to enchant items. I got Silk Touch on a diamond pick with a level 18 enchantment.

I actually just got it at level 17, I was really surprised.

Can somebody tell me the range of levels for a stone to be silk touch? And do the words mean anything? (I know it's SGC but is the translation gibberish?)

Basically it says :
a) If you want to save EXP :
Gold : Level 13
Wood : Level 20
Iron : Level 20
Diamond : Level 22
Stone : Level 26
If you want to save Items :
Wood : Level 50
Iron : Level 50
Gold : Level 49
Diamond : Level50
Stone : Level 50

At level 30, even if everything goes wrong. You have every chance of getting silk touch. It's level 25 min. And you can lose 25% and gain only 1 level from the item you use and 1 at default. You lose 7 and gain 2, putting you at total of Level 25 enchant which has the possibility of having silk touch. Then you just need to beat the long shot odds.

Easy answer. Best level (best % chance) to get Silk Touch is 50.

I enchanted 3 diamond picks at level 50;
First
Efficiency IV
Silk Touch I

Second
Efficiency V
Unbreaking III

Third
Efficiency IV
Unbreaking III
Fortune III

It's all random.

mining a block in its original state, like if u mine stone u get stone instead of cobble.
same goes for grass, mycelium diamond lapiz redsone blocks ect.
