Paladin's Quest is a new type of adventure map series created by the Noxcrew. It features voiced-over NPCs who actually speak to your character, demonstrated through an unlisted YouTube video questing system to tell the story. (Completely vanilla, no mods required.)

The series begins by introducing your character to you and slowly will evolve into a truly epic storyline throughout the rest of the series.

Paladin's Quest started with Episode 1, a very small map which was made to simply introduce the bare-bones of the questing system and start you off on your adventure. It was released a while ago as a test and from receiving the appropriate feedback, Episode 1 has now gone back into production for a complete revamp and will be renamed as the "Prologue".

We will be releasing Episode 2 first (Which doesn't need Episode 1 to be played to be understood).

Episode 2 is where the real adventure kicks off. Introducing combat, a massive insight into the lore, player housing and a huge island to explore with exciting things around every corner. The Questing System will also be heavily improved on to make it a lot easier to navigate through. - This is where it goes gold.

Episode 1 is no longer downloadable as it has been retracted back into production for a complete revamp!

You do not need to play this map to understand Episode 2.
Episode 2 will be released first and Episode 1 will be renamed as the Prologue.

Noxcrew General Requirements:
A good level of maturity.
- To be able to work in a team.
- To be able to download TeamSpeak3 and use it.
- To be able to run 32x32 texture packs.
- To check the Noxcrew calendar whenever possible.
- Be organised and respectful in the creation of content.
- To have an understanding of each project when approaching it.
- To check and read the forums whenever possible.
- To be able to take constructive criticism.
- To respect every other member and treat them in the same way they treat you.
- To communicate effectively.
- To know how to PARTY!

Positions currently available in the Noxcrew Family:

Build Team Member:

As a build team member, you will be expected to be able to work in a team efficiently, and fulfil the criteria that the Build Team Leader gives you. You will of course be able to bring your own creative ideas to the table and discuss with the Build Team Leader in a mature manner. You will also need to be able to take constructive criticism professionally.
Build Team Members should always have a very sharp eye for detail and be able to communicate with the team when they aren't satisfied with something.
When not working on Video Content projects, Build Team members have an RPG-world public server where they can create their wildest fantasy build dreams whenever they wish. But are required to create a believable environment for the build to blend into.

Art Department:

The Art Department consists of graphic artists, visionaries and composers.
If you wish to help in creating a visual/audial style for the Noxcrew's Video content, this is the place to be.
This includes texture pack changes, skin creation, set lighting, concept design and graphical art.
You will be required to be able to work independently on certain graphical content and fulfil the needed criteria for each project before it's due date (Filming day).
You will also be involved in the idea process where you can discuss your conceptual designs/ideas for the content in question - ultimately making a difference in the entire idea itself.

Writer:

As a writer, you need to be an "ideas person". You need to have a strong understanding of the English language and be experienced in the creative world.
There is always room for more projects in the Noxcrew and if you wish to have a team available at request, here's the place to have it.
Certain content will require extra writing such as side-lore and side character scripting - all of which may not be planned in the original idea. So this is where your input may make a difference.
Certain writings will have a due date (filming day) - and you will need to be able to complete it by then.
You will also be involved in the ideas process on the Noxcrew projects and be able to give constructive criticism on whatever is being written on.
Writers will be a team, so you must be able to write together and share ideas effectively while being able to take constructive criticism.

Voice Actor:

The Noxcrew are always looking out for talented voice actors. You will need to have a good understanding of the English language and have a very good microphone that picks up almost no background noise whatsoever. (Blue Yeti's and the sort). You will be required to be able to truly become your character, fill them with emotion and keep that specific character for the entire script. You will also have to be very confident with voicing around other people, as voice acting sessions will occur with many other voice actors where you will need to react in-character to the other voice actor.
There will also be certain occasions where you will need to improvise-act in-character.
Voice acting here is a lot of fun, as we create great characters and show them in their full light.

My ultimate plan is to create a long series that surrounds an epic storyline, but it is very time consuming! I'm a 19 year old Film Production Student, studying at the Bournemouth Arts University, UK. So not only have I already got an extremely time consuming course, but I'm not in much of a financial position either!

I really want to spend longer on making these maps so that everything built and recorded is much more perfected. I'll admit, I rushed Episode 1 a little too much, forgetting to focus on things properly (including my editing). - A result of many sleepless nights because when I start working on something... I forget to stop...

I really want to make this into something special. I was a very big gamer in my youth, gathering inspiration from SO many games, I've finally found a way of being able to make and share my own game, without having to learn coding or any such thing. I love entertaining people and with my passion for storytelling, I will be keeping these maps coming whether I get any donations or not.
For any donations I get, I will be keeping the emails, as in future I will contact you about adding a custom quest/character/script/building/easter-egg on a map in your honor, without breaking the storyline ofc.
Things will get bigger, better and much more exciting. All I ask is for you to help. The size of the donation really doesn't matter, because every little helps! All money donated will go towards the project, the team and its expenses.

No, the folder will be as big as the map.

Inside the folders there are shortcuts leading to unlisted YouTube videos, rather than videos themselves.

We've already thought about all of that
