ScienceCraft is a mod that bring AWESOME science fictions to Minecraft!!! Many cool mobs and items will be added!

News:
After such a long wait... Here it is! The long-waited V0.3 is here! Although im the only one coding for now, i have tried my very best into including more feature into the version so i hope you guys would love it! There's one more good news, we have a new member[Mr_PixelatedCoder] into the team and he would most likely spend his time coding with me. From now on versions would be updated every sunday! :D

EDIT: The team has decided that it will no longer be V0.4 for the next version but it will jump to V1.0 and it will be moved to the mods section. So the next update wont be on sunday anymore, it will take a much longer time or maybe a few weeks.

PLEASE VIEW THE 'BLOCK AND ITEM INFORMATION' SECTION IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF THE BLOCKS AND ITEMS

Next Update(V1.0)

Okay, I look at this mod and I see potential. But I'm not sure where you are going with it. What's the goal? What kind of stuff are you trying to build? I'm not harassing you, I'm just looking to get a clear picture.

Well, the main point of this mod is to add more fun and interesting stuff inside minecraft... it is like spicing things up for the game, thats the goal. We are actually making stuff that are related to science as you may know, science has a lot of amzaing stuff that we can use to add into the mod which would be ideal. Hope these answer your question :D V0.3 stuff that will be added will be updated soon so you may wan to check back into this thread and check it out

Okay, I don't think I made my question clear. You said science. Well okay, but science is huge. Science is basically the accumulated knowledge of everything the human race has done up until this point. I doubt you are doing that. So what exactly are you adding? You got specimens there. Specimens for what? What do they do? You have a power core. Power for what? Hamburgers aren't that sciency, but not everything has to follow an exact goal. Extra stuff is cool too. You add uranium. Did you know that one of those most epic mods, Industrialcraft, adds that too?

Now I'm not trying to be negative. But you notice how no one else has posted in this thread? That's cause you have like no information about what you are trying to do. You can't gather interest if no one knows what you are doing. Keep on keeping on. But if you want anyone else to see it, gives a little more to go on.

Happy modding.

This.
we originally had more info to start with but a while back the thread got deleted for whatever reason. we will see about fixing up info and putting out an update. also all that extra stuff will be used but probably next update. All this is still under the hope that A Nex will be around or it probably wont happen.

Also this Science mod is going down the lines of Science Fiction kinds of things. Like robots, chemicals(specimens), Scientists, Uranium(Which in our mod hurts you and poisons you), platinum, titanium, and if i can figure it out probably a robot made like a snowman is made(like two blocks and a head) i also intend to make you able to use the robot chestplate and helmet as a helmet.

That's all cool. I was thinking this mod was dead on the vine.

Would you like a few suggestions from an avid mod user? I like the whole science fiction thing. I love all mods that go down the direction of amazing new stuff to build and craft (IC, BC, RP, those kinds) The robots, scientists, and chemical specimens sounds cool.

I especially like the idea of building the robots like the way snow golems are built. But I'm not that fond of new ores, UNLESS there is a ton of stuff to build with them. New ores means starting a new world or going to find brand new chunks far from my already built structures. But really that's a personal prejudice.

I suggest dropping uranium. Instead, and this is big so I understand if you don't want to do it, get the IndustrialCraft API and make your stuff run off IC power. The mods would meld well I think.

And with your scientists, can we have an 'armor' that is a lab coat? That would be sweet.

Just some suggestions. Keep up the work. I'll be watching this.

Thank you for the ideas. A nex the leader is actually going to be around tonight so we should get stuff done well. Cth977 is working on the robots and will see if he can get a lab coat texture made. I am in a few minutes going to post the new 1.0 version and add what info I currently can about the Blocks and items. which is mostly the 1.8 one, cth977 replaced the wrenches with a machine. the machine right now has almost no use, but when v.3 is released hopefully this weekend it will get more use and the robot will also have more things. the scientist is intended to throw Gw specimens at you in the way skeletons shoot bows. so the order is V.2.5 [1.0] then V.3. Watch for updates.

Edit: I will add more info later about things later.

Why would potions cover this stuff. Trolls are unwelcome.

Also i hope better information about blocks and what they are for are put up soon.

Nope, i can confirm that it does'nt. Our specimen will do more extra ordinary stuff than potion as you can see from the effect of MP Specimen, it spawn a mutated plant. More of such stuff or using different effects will be added soon.

And sorry that V0.3 will be released at a later date

Sorry to tell you guys that sciencecraft team will stop modding for a short while as we are taking a break and trying to settle some stuff in life first...

We will continue this mod after a few weeks later or maybe someone from the team would continue...

We apologise for this news...

Okay, I haven't actually tried the mod yet. (Really hung up on Arkum City right now). So , I haven't really played minecraft at all for a little while now. But from what I see from the screenshots the raygun is a little overpowered. Don't get me wrong, explodey power is cool. But it has to be either really hard to craft, or there be a really powerful mob to face with it. But I'm not fond of mobs unless they are truely unique or distinctly interesting. Just some new texture for basically zombies is boring. What if you added a couple of mobs, that you gather specimen samples from. Then use those to create a tamed version of that mob. And that some method by which you can make the mob better; stronger, faster, searches out other mobs, or any other number of things. Just throwing more ideas out there.

But you guys are coming right along though. Thanks for the lab coat. Is it just on that mob? Or is it "armor"? Cause I want Steve to where it.

Well, FYI i think you didnt really check out the full recipe for the raygun, you have to actually acquire the ore[Block] thru mining, processed it into ore[Item] using power core which only can be get thru killing Robuster[Mob] and you have to smelt the ore[Item] in a furnace to get ingots[Item] and there are many more steps which can be found in the recipes section. I really like the idea of the powerful mob, it creates a part of the purpose for the game which i will defitnitely include it in the mod and of coz the team will try its best to make it like what you said, unique and distinctly interesting. And of coz, i wont be so uncreative to just change the texture of a zombie and call it my mod XD Gathering specimen of certain mob and make it tamed by yourself is interesting and it really gave me an idea a while ago, ill be changing mutated plant to be on your side[tamed] instead of being a mob. Thanks for your ideas and suggestions, i really apreciate it much and i hope you will continue to update what you really wan in this mod! :D

Sorry to inform you that the lab coat would be postpone to V0.4, that guy there isnt a monster, it is just our friend cth977 over there wearing the lab coat XD Yes it will be an armor.
