I have an Asus eeePC; Minecraft does not recognize that my graphics card,
Intel Mobile 945GM Express, supports OpenGL.

The suggestion

works as a temporary solution, but I would prefer to be just able to run Minecraft.exe
I'm looking forward to an update that will allow me to run it without using the command line.
Thanks!

*Open a command prompt (go to start, all programs, accessories, command promt) and type the following command : java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\Brandon\Desktop\Minecraft.jar"
Here is what you do:
1. Create a notepad file and put java -xmx800m -jar "Directory to Minecraft.jar"
2. 'Save as' Minecraft.bat
3. Save it to your desktop
4. Always run Minecraft from that .bat file
You can also modify the .bat to allow more Ram allocation to the game.
Edit:
I always run minecraft from a .bat due to graphical bugs and more ram. As long as you aren't bothered by the white box with gears in it, you should be fine.
